The cast of Friends used collective bargaining to level out their salaries. As an ensemble cast, they wanted to be treated as equals as their wages grew from $22K per episode to $1M. Each cast member of Friends earned around $90 million in base salary alone from the show before the addition of any backend bonuses and ongoing royalties from syndication, racking each actor up an impressive net worth. For 10 seasons, the Friends cast was considered the gold standard of sitcom television, but where do they stand financially today? Here is the net worth of the Friends cast ranked from richest to poorest.

It’s a well-known fact that Meryl Streep is the most Oscar-nominated actor of all time, with 21 bids (and three wins) dating as far back as 1978. What many may not realize, however, is that her storied history with the film academy began after she had already clinched an Emmy for her lead performance on the NBC miniseries “Holocaust.” Indeed, she has won as many Emmys as she has Oscars, and she could soon nab at least a fourth TV trophy since her upcoming projects include Apple TV+’s “Extrapolations” and Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building.”
Before she received her first Emmy, Streep made her small screen debut opposite John Lithgow in a 1977 installment of PBS’s “Great Performances,” entitled “Secret Service.” This was essentially a filmed stage play presented as a two-hour movie. Her first proper telefilm was “The Deadliest Season,” in which she portrayed the wife of...

Way before The Sopranos‘ Dr. Melfi and Web Therapy‘s Fiona Wallace, the go-to TV therapist was Dr. Katz.

Every week, IndieWire asks a select handful of TV critics two questions and publishes the results on Tuesday. (The answer to the second, “What is the best show currently on TV?” can be found at the end of this post.)
This week’s question: Who has been the best guest star on a scripted show?
Tim Surette (@timsurette), TV.com
Wayne Brady showing up in body armor and riding a horse on Syfy’s post-apocalyptic disaster disaster “Aftermath” needs to be mentioned somewhere in this critics’ roundup, so here it is. But I’ll point out two from intentional comedies that come to mind. Timothy Olyphant’s short run on “The Grinder” as himself was fantastic and if I didn’t mention this my coworker Kaitlin would kill me. But my pick goes to David Duchovny, also as himself, on “The Larry Sanders Show.” We’d largely known Duchovny for...

It’s been awhile since we last checked in on L/Studio, the platform that once hosted hit series like Web Therapy and Cop Show, but the Lexus-branded outlet is still chugging along. Now in its eighth year, it continues to distribute new programs, the latest of which is Film to Table, a cooking show that recreates iconic dishes from movies.
Film to Table features host Jason Roberts as its chef de cuisine. In each episode, he will pick out and cook up his favorite movie foods, with special guests stopping by to add both figurative and literal flavor to his dishes. Up first is ramen, with Roberts and guest Haroon Adalat teaming up to analyze the Japanese comedy Tampopo, which is set in a ramen shop and has been called “one of the best food movies of all time.”

Dan Bucatinsky has one of the more interesting careers in television – an actor, writer, producer who can’t be pigeonholed into one category. Bucatinsky might be best known as playing James Novak on ABC’s “Scandal,” which earned him a Primetime Emmy Award in 2013, or from “The Comeback,” the HBO series that took a nearly 10-year break between seasons.
But he’s also a successful TV producer, having partnered in 2003 with Lisa Kudrow to launch the production company Is or Isn’t Entertainment. Together, they’ve been behind “The Comeback,” the digital series “Web Therapy” (which eventually ended up on Showtime), and the reality series “Who Do You Think You Are?” on TLC.

Lily Tomlin's indelible mark on film and television was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Screen Actors Guild on Sunday.
The celebrated star was presented with the award by country music icon and 9 to 5 co-star Dolly Parton. Jane Fonda, who stars with Tomlin on the hit Netflix dramedy Grace and Frankie, was scheduled to present, but was forced to cancel due to strep throat, Tomlin told Et's Nancy O'Dell on the red carpet.
Tomlin, like so many others at this year's show, got political in her speech, but managed to use her razor wit to bring levity to the seriousness of the political climate.

The next stop on the long, multi-platform journey of Web Therapy will be in Spain. According to Deadline, the web series-turned-tv show will come to Spanish shores thanks to a partnership between FremantleMedia and digital TV platform Movistar+.
Web Therapy stars Lisa Kudrow as Fiona Wallace, a therapist who conducts her sessions over video chat and demonstrates a complete lack of self-awareness. The Spanish version will feature the same setup, but with local actors filling in the show’s principal roles. It will be distributed on #0, a new channel from Movistar+.
FremantleMedia picked up Web Therapy’s international distribution rights back in 2011, but it made no significant overseas moves with the series until four years later, when a Polish version premiered on a digital platform called Player.pl. The Spanish version of the show will be FremantleMedia’s second international adaptation of it.

With her unique voice and provocative point of view, Chelsea will be seen confronting the topics that connect humanity, having the hard conversations about things that are not easy to talk about, and calibrating and learning who she is along the way. Or was it Kevin Spacey? I have memories of many of the interviews I've done. Specific questions or reactions. But as many things as I remember, I'll bet I've forgotten five times more things, simply because of the sheer volume of all of the interviews I've done. There are people I know I've never spoken with, though, because if I had, those memories would not fade. And one of the people that I have always wanted to meet and talk to about their work was Lily Tomlin. I say "was" because as of last Friday, she is no longer on my "to do" list. Lisa Kudrow’s web-series-turned-tv-show is now just a web series again. During the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour, Showtime president David Nevins said Kudrow’s Web Therapy series will not have a fifth season on TV. “No,” he stated plainly, “that’s done.”
Web Therapy stars Kudrow as a self-important therapist who communicates with her patients via video chat. The series first debuted in 2008 on the Lexus-branded Lstudio platform and became a hit, earning nominations for Kudrow at the first two Streamy Awards in 2009 and 2010. Showtime premiered a TV version of the series in 2011; the premium channel managed to turn webisodes into full-length TV episodes by adding in some auxilliary scenes.
As Kudrow and her team rolled out more star-studded episodes online (guests have included Lily Tomlin, Minnie Driver, and Conan O’Brien), Showtime continued to convert them into TV entertainment. Ultimately, Web Therapy’s TV run lasted for four seasons,...
