- TriviaFrenchie and Oluwande scam the foppish aristocrats out of their money by claiming that Oluwande is an Egyptian prince and "selling" them shares of a pyramid he claims to own (with assistance from Abshir, who works for one of the aristocrats). This is obviously a joking reference to the idea of a "pyramid scheme," a fraudulent system of scamming money based on recruiting more and more "investors" in a project that either has no room for such a large number of investors or does not exist at all. Toward the end of the episode, Abshir mentions that they can revise the con so that he will claim to be a Nigerian prince instead--a reference to a different common confidence scam, variations of which have also been known as the advance-fee scam or the Spanish Prisoner.
- GoofsBlackbeard's own ship had disappeared without explanation, but two of his crew members suddenly join him and the pirates of the Revenge when they're rowing over to board a merchant ship. The pair is not seen again after the raid.

Definitely my favorite episode

This episode is a beautiful example of Ed and Stede's relationship. They both begin to understand the reality of the others world, and each other. This is the episode where they truly grow closer, and possibly where romantic feelings start. Ed truly wants to be part of Stede's posh world, and stede welcomes him into it fully. The beauty in this comes in when Stede, despite knowing Blackbeard might have a hard time, supports him fully and helps him get ready. He even makes a few sacrifices just to make him feel better.
On another note, I adore the odd portrayal of rich French society. Often times, white people are portrayed as perfect and posh and fancy, while PoC are portrayed as following odd rules and rituals, and behaving ignorantly to what other people need. This is completely flipped on its side when the French are shown to be rude to whoever they please, and shown in a violent nature when their way of partying is disrupted.
Last thing: the humor in this episode wins.
