This is a hard film to rate, as it really is unique and you can't compare it to the typical short. It consists of one of the songs from Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker" playing while you see the Van Gogh painting "Starry Night" being assembled piece by piece using a computer graphics program. The music, by the way, sounds like a computer .midi file, so this entire film was an experiment to show what one person call do by themselves. This would have been unheard of just a decade or two ago. Even still, it showed some nice computer skills and I'd actually like to see a few more shorts like this--it's very relaxing and interesting--especially if you are patient and don't mind that there are no explosions!! Next time, however, I'd like to see perhaps "The Scream" or one of Hieronymous Bosch's paintings or even a Dali!
