Daisy Ridley is set to reprise her iconic role as Rey in the upcoming Star Wars film directed by Sharmeed Obaid-Chinoy. However, there’s rather disappointing news: Ridley has only committed to one movie in the galaxy far, far away—at least, for now. During her appearance on the SmartLess Podcast, Ridley revealed, It’s very cool. Different writer, different director… it will be quite a different feeling, I imagine. She added that she expects to receive the first pages of the script soon. This new installment is reportedly titled New Jedi Order, set 15 years after the events of 2019’s The Rise...

With so many Star Wars movies and TV shows failing to make it to our screens in recent years, fans remain hopeful that the big screen project revolving around Daisy Ridley's Rey - first announced during last April's Star Wars Celebration - will eventually become a reality.
Essentially "Episode X", the movie is set to take place 15 years after the events of the Skywalker Saga concluded. Rey, now a fully-fledged Jedi Master, will attempt to lead the Jedi into a new age, only for a mysterious dark force to rise in a bid to combat her.
Ms. Marvel director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy remains attached to helm the project which, based on our last update, has been penned by Steven Knight. Originally, Damon Lindelof (Watchmen) was attached to write the screenplay and did so before parting ways with Lucasfilm over creative differences.

Star Wars has several projects in the works, including Mangold’s new film set thousands of years in the past and a new Rey movie, ‘Star Wars: Episode X,’ with the working title ‘New Jedi Order,’ which hints at the plot.
A new Rey-focused Star Wars movie was announced at Star Wars Celebration 2023. Directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, the film follows Rey’s journey to rebuild the Jedi Order after ‘The Rise of Skywalker.’ Initially written by Damon Lindelof and Justin Britt-Gibson, the script was later taken over by Steven Knight. The story is set 15 years after ‘Rise of Skywalker,’ exploring the galaxy after the war with the Jedi in disarray. Kathleen Kennedy mentioned that Rey is working to fulfill her promise to Luke and rebuild the Jedi Order, based on the ancient books.
Ridley will, of course, return as Rey, but this movie doesn’t seem to be leading to a new trilogy.

It has been five years since the last big-screen Star Wars release hit the theatres, whose disappointment pushed Disney to revamp its approach towards the galaxy far, far away. Since then, the small screen has been the House of Mouse’s priority in terms of Star Wars projects, but after a prolonged wait, the IP is finally set to return to the big screen.
Daisy Ridley, who headlined the sequel trilogy, is also set to reprise her part of Rey Skywalker in one of the three Star Wars films, which were announced last year. However, according to the actor, her second run as Rey might be short-lived.

Star Wars has enjoyed unprecedented success over the last couple of years thanks to Lucasfilm's expansion through Disney+. But despite shows like The Mandalorian and Ahsoka being at the forefront, the production company is still adamant about starting the franchise's next chapter.
Last year, it was confirmed that Daisy Ridley would be reprising her role as Rey in a new film. John Goodman is an Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actor with a legendary track record across film and television, but he still struggles with self-doubt about his career. Appearing on the latest episode of the SmartLess podcast, Goodman opened up to hosts Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, and Sean Hayes about his life and career, revealing he “practically had a nervous breakdown” over the past year and is now coming out the other side of it. “It’s much different now. I feel like I’m still learning,” Goodman said (per the New York Post), noting how he lacks the same motivation in acting as he did when he was younger. “The last couple of years have been goofy for me because I’ve been trying to be good — and it doesn’t work that way.” “You know, like planning things way too much,” he added. The Hit Man star takes aim as her career levels up
Adria Arjona knows just how scary it can be to meet your heroes. One of her all-time favourite movies is School Of Rock, and when she first met Richard Linklater, not even the relative safety of a Zoom call could save her. “My hands were sweaty,” she admits to Empire. “I was really trying to play it cool and that lasted for about ten minutes.”
After a series of supporting turns in genre fare, crime dramas (True Detective), and recently as the forthright Bix in Andor, the 31-year-old actor is stepping into fresh territory with Linklater’s romcom HitMan. Alongside Glen Powell, she stars as Madison, a housewife with a controlling husband who falls for the contract killer (Powell) she hires to take him out. The only problem: her new boyfriend is actually working undercover for the police as a fake hitman.

Sarah Paulson is recalling an “outrageous” interaction she had with a fellow actor who watched her performance in a play.
During a Monday appearance on the Smartless podcast, with hosts Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett, the American Horror Story star was asked if she would accept feedback from celebrities who come backstage to meet the cast after a theater show.
“I did do a play once. The last time I was on stage, I did a play called Talley’s Folly at the Roundabout, and the actress — and I’m going to say this, and I’m not going to ask you to cut this out, because I don’t fucking care — this actress came to the play. Her name is Trish Hawkins. ‘Hi, Trish! Hi, Trisha!’” Paulson said. “Trish Hawkins came to the play … am I going to get sued? I don’t care, because I think this is outrageous.

Joe Biden sat for an interview with a mainstream, national news outlet, — a not-too-common occurrence. And while the clear intent in his chat with CNN’s Erin Burnett was to show a contrast with Donald Trump on the economy, the headline was what the president said about Israel.
“I made it clear that if they go into Rafah — they haven’t gone into Rafah yet — but if they go into Rafah , I am not supplying the weapons that have been used historically to deal with Rafah, that deal with the cities, that deal with that problem,” Biden said. “We’re going to continue to make sure Israel is secure in terms of Iron Dome and their ability to respond to attacks… but it’s just wrong. We are not going to supply the weapons and artillery shells that have been used” by the Israelis.

Former President Barack Obama slammed Donald Trump for a lack of “seriousness.”

Adam Driver is an actor who has appeared in numerous roles in many movies, which include Lincoln (2012), Frances Ha (2012), Inside Llewyn Davis (2013), BlacKkKlansman (2018), Marriage Story (2019), The Last Duel (2021), House of Gucci (2021), and Ferrari (2023), but one role stands out among mainstream fans, which is what of Kylo Ren, or Ben Solo, from the Star Wars franchise. And while the sequel trilogy was more clumsy than perfect, even ridiculous at times, Driver’s performance has been praised and Kylo Ren is still considered as one of the trilogy’s most important characters.
And while Kylo Ren died in the films, we have seen that Star Wars characters can – more or less miraculously – reappear in the series, as was the case with Darth Maul and Palpatine, so why not Kylo Ren? The actor was recently asked about the possibility of returning to the role of Kylo Ren, and we will reveal what he said.

Kristen Stewart Says David Fincher Is ‘One of Five’ Directors Who Can Still Build Big Practical Sets
Kristen Stewart is calling out the gendered double standard for film budgets when it comes to crafting large practical sets.
During the “SmartLess” podcast, the former child actor and “Love Lies Bleeding” star reflected on working with auteur David Fincher for 2002 thriller “Panic Room” alongside Jodie Foster. Stewart shared that the luxurious brownstone used as the sole location for the home invasion feature was actually entirely built on a soundstage and in fact was not set in New York City but rather Manhattan Beach.
“It was, like, a fully functional brownstone built on a soundstage in Manhattan Beach,” the Oscar-nominated actress said. “Every outlet worked, it was mind-blowing. It was in a time where, like — well, I guess people do this. You just have to be, like, one of five men who are allowed to do it. But Fincher is one of those people, and he just built. You could live in it.

Update: Protesters interrupted President Joe Biden’s conversation with his predecessors, Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, a signature feature of the blockbuster fundraiser at Radio City Music Hall.
The disruption isn’t all that surprising, given that many of Biden’s events have seen hecklers calling for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war. This time, according to a pool report, one of the protesters was yelling obscenities about a nuclear war with Russia. Other protesters interrupted over the situation in Gaza.
When one protester interrupted, Obama snapped back, “You can’t just talk and not listen… That’s what the other side does.”
Stephen Colbert, moderating the conversation, first asked what was at stake in the election.
“I think our democracy is at stake, no joke,” Biden said, adding that if “we get by this election,’ then “we’re in a position where we can set the course for the next four or five,...

Taika Waititi is a prolific director who created one of the best Marvel movies to date, aka Thor: Ragnarok. Yet his next venture into the Marvel Cinematic Universe turned out to be one of the most debatable entries of the entire superhero verse. Thor: Love and Thunder, although based on the comics, had some polar opposite reviews, while some found the silliness and goofiness of the movie fun others criticized it for being too tacky.

Marvel fans, too, jumped on the wagon to blame Watiti’s aversiveness to the character of Thor as the reason why the movie was so bad. But if Anthony Mackie’s new interview has some weight, it means all the criticism surrounding Love and Thunder being unlike the comics was for nothing.

It seems unnecessary to say about one of the top three podcast publishers, but “Wondery Means Business” is the name of the first of six innovative marketing campaigns being pushed out by the Amazon company this year. Not that anybody doubts it. With 220 active shows, 72 million streams and more than 55 pods reaching No. 1 on Apple Podcasts, the studio known for such binge-worthy hits as Dr. Death and SmartLess is taking a new approach to its programming starting April 1, strategically timing the rollout of its most popular genres. “We are by no means abandoning the concept of one-show marketing,” says Bladimiar Norman, Wondery’s inventive head of global marketing. He adds he’ll be applying the tenets of his box office experience from working on franchises like Mission: Impossible and Star Trek to the audio business: “The primary goal here is to connect our IP to audiences and create fandom through experiences and moments.

Natalie Portman revealed on a recent episode of the “Smartless” podcast (via People) that Jodie Foster once reached out to her after she heard Portman giving a speech about being sexualized as a young actor. Foster famously skyrocketed at 12 years old when she was cast in Martin Scorsese’s “Taxi Driver” as a child sex worker. Portman, meanwhile, was 11 years old when she was cast in “Léon: The Professional,” which served as her own acting breakthrough.
“I did a speech at a Women’s March about being sexualized as a young actress, and she reached out to me after that, and we talked and it was amazing,” Portman said. “She’s still a role model.”
Portman said that she learned at a young age to project a tough exterior on film sets to avoid sexualization by potential predators.
“That kind of projection of seriousness protected me in a way,” she said.

Actress Natalie Portman has shared that she used to find dressing up for awards ceremonies “oppressive”. Since having children, the actress, who has Aleph, 12, and six-year-old Amalia with husband Benjamin Millepied, loves the chance to leave behind her sweatshirts and get dolled up, reports ‘Female First UK’.
However, this wasn’t always the case. The actress, who is known for ‘Black Swan’ and ‘V for Vendetta’, used to feel like women got the short straw of having to look their best whilst the men got to “roll out of bed” and wear comfortable clothes.
Speaking on the ‘SmartLess’ podcast, she said: “You know, I used to think it was kind oppressive and like why do women have to spend all this time and discomfort and you know the men get to like roll out of bed and wear something they’re warm in and like aren’t, you know, sucking...

Natalie Portman is chiming into the conversation surrounding the traditional film medium in the age of social media.
The Oscar-winning actress was recently asked in an interview with Vanity Fair about the changes she has seen in Hollywood throughout the years.
“The striking thing has been the decline of film as a primary form of entertainment,” she said. “It feels much more niche now. If you ask someone my kids’ age about movie stars, they don’t know anyone compared to YouTube stars or whatever.”
Social media’s impact on mainstream movie stars has been a recent debate, especially with the rise of influencers in the 21st century. Ana de Armas said last year that she feels the “concept of a movie star” has been ruined because the “mystery is gone,” while Jennifer Anniston previously responded to a “mass-fame phenomenon” comment, saying, “It’s dying. There are no more movie stars.

SmartLess, the podcast co-hosted by Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett, just got paid more, with the trio signing a three-year deal with SiriusXM worth a reported $100 million. Now, Tracy, SiriusXM is the biggest satellite radio corporation in the world…
This summer, SmartLess will officially be part of the Sirius team, joining a number of other podcasts, including James Corden’s own and Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend, which is currently available on channel 104. This is a monumental deal for the podcasting world, but it’s not much of a surprise considering just how popular SmartLess has become. It’s not every podcast that gets its own behind-the-scenes documentary, as SmartLess did courtesy of Max.
According to SiriusXM president and Cco Scott Greenstein (via The Hollywood Reporter), “At SiriusXM, we are proud to be home to the stars, and with Jason, Sean and Will joining us, that statement has never been more true.

Hollywood star Mark Ruffalo went down memory lane and recalled his humble beginnings when he was waiting tables and had to travel everywhere by his budget motorbike that he would fix himself whenever it broke down.

Mark Ruffalo’s breakout role in Kenneth Lonergan’s “You Can Count on Me” almost didn’t happen.

Ruffalo discovered he had a tumour 23 years ago when actress Sunrise, 51, was around nine-and-a-half months pregnant with her and actor’s son Keen, who is now 22 and arrived in June 2001.
Ruffalo added he made the decision to wait until after the boy’s birth to break the news of his condition.

Adam Driver's days in a galaxy far, far away are behind him. Kylo Ren died in "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" and, even though there is always a possibility that he could re-appear as a Force ghost, the actor has confirmed that he is not returning to the franchise. That may be for the best for his long-term sanity, as the process of making the "Star Wars" sequel trilogy was especially exhausting for Driver.
The actor was recently a guest on the "SmartLess" podcast, in part to promote his new movie "Ferrari." During the conversation, Driver confirmed he is "not doing any more" projects set in the "Star Wars" universe. So fans should make their peace with that. Continuing, the actor explained that the pace of working on a big blockbuster movie set didn't suit him all that well. Not because it's too fast, but, oddly, because it's...

Hollywood star Adam Driver has ruled out returning to the franchise after his “exhausting” experience on set. During his recent appearance on the “SmartLess” podcast, the Kylo Ren depicter in the “Star Wars” sequel trilogy confirmed that a new movie is in the works without him being involved.
“They’re doing stuff, but not with me, I’m not doing any more,” Driver said, reports aceshowbiz.com.
He went on revealing his struggles to adjust to the filming pace, blaming himself for making it more difficult than it should have been.
Driver recalled: ” ‘Star Wars’ was way more exhausting for me … I made it more exhausting than it should have been. I hadn’t quite figured out the momentum of a set that was that big before.”
Comparing working on the big-budgeted films to his other movies, the 40-year-old divulged: “All the things I had worked on were pretty small and moved pretty fast.

With Daisy Ridley set to return to the “Star Wars” franchise as Rey in a new film set after the events of 2019’s “The Rise of Skywalker,” many fans are wondering whether or not the actor’s co-stars might also book a return trip to a galaxy far, far away. John Boyega’s Finn and Oscar Isaac’s Poe were alive by the end of that film, making their potential returns a possibility, whereas Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren/Ben Solo died a hero. Of course, characters often come back from the dead in “Star Wars” — but don’t bank on Kylo Ren being one of them.
“They’re doing stuff, but not with me,” Driver said during a recent appearance on the “SmartLess” podcast. “I’m not doing any more.”
“You’re done because the character’s done?” podcast co-host Sean Haynes asked as a follow-up question, to which Driver responded: “Yes.

It wasn’t easy finding a host for the 81st Golden Globe Awards this year, the first iteration of the awards show run by Dick Clark Productions, who took control over it from the scandal-ridden Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
