- TriviaSloan says he hasn't seen his daughter in 6 years. This is kind of a foreshadowing, as his daughter would make an appearance in a future episode.
- GoofsWhile talking Charlie and Dr. Sloan say they each have type O blood. However, they don't say anything about the Rh factor (positive or negative), a potentially fatal issue that doctors wouldn't ignore.
- Quotes
Dr. Mark Sloan: I've seen that rash before.
Dr. Jesse Travis: Where?
Dr. Mark Sloan: Guatemala, 1952. Smallpox!
Dr. Jesse Travis: Smallpox? That's impossible. It's been extinct for over 30 years.
Dr. Mark Sloan: I know it's impossible but... if we don't contain it, thousands of people could die!

Hudson's Bay Blanket!?
A Hudson's Bay blanket is shown VERY prominently in a late scene in an episode where the main characters are infected with smallpox. Because there is no mention of the historical significance of that in the scene, or anywhere else in the episode, there are only a few assumptions left to make. It's a quiet acknowledgement of the attempted genocide, it's an unfortunate coincidental oversight, or it's meant as a mean-spirited gag. I sure hope it's the first one.
