This show was created when its stars did not agree with the way their current network, SBS, was treating them and its audience. The duo moved to a new network and a new show in a much publicized change.
Series producer Brendan Walls joined David Stratton and Margaret Pomeranz in moving from SBS to ABC for this show.
Over the 11 years the series was on air, only seven movies were given five stars by both David Stratton and Margaret Pomeranz: Good Night, and Good Luck. (2005), Brokeback Mountain (2005), No Country for Old Men (2007), Samson & Delilah (2009), A Separation (2011), Amour (2012) and Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2014).
