Mission: Impossible, Avengers, Dwayne Johnson, Jurassic World, Ant-Man and more are lining up to meet you next summer. Oh, and The Statham.
With summer blockbuster season 2017 in full swing, and with Fast & Furious 8 speeding over the $1bn mark already, a bunch of filmmakers are furiously putting together their films for release this time next year (or thereabouts). Here, as things stand, is the state of summer blockbuster season 2018. We’ve veered towards UK release dates on the whole, but as always, things can quickly change.
Also, we’ve not included unnamed films: Universal, for instance, has reserved a slot for one of its classic monster universe movies, but not told anybody what it is yet. As more information pops up, we’ll keep this list up to date…

Jennifer Aniston is getting a whole lot of birthday love!
The actress turned 48 on Saturday, and her pal Ellen DeGeneres couldn't help but celebrate with an epic video montage.
"Happy birthday, Jennifer Aniston. You know I love you. But here’s a montage just to prove it," DeGeneres captioned the clip on Instagram.
As for how Aniston's husband, Justin Theroux, followed that up, he went for a sweet and simple approach.
"Hbdj❤ Xo," he wrote alongside a snap of himself cuddled up to Aniston, while she blows a kiss to the camera.

Spotted: Penn Badgley looking nothing like Lonely Boy. In fact, the actor was giving his Gossip Girl role as Dan Humphrey a run for his money when he debuted a new look during a performance at Miami's Art Basel. The 30-year-old showed off some serious scruff and a blond 'do while he and his band Mothxr performed at the Life of the Party event which was held at the Bricknell City Centre last night. Badgley sang several tracks from the band's new album like "Touch," "She Can't Tell" and "Victim." And while his musical career is clearly top priority these days, Badgley has made it clear that he hasn't put his acting chops on the back burner,...

One of my favorite things as a kid was whenever different television series would do holiday-themed episodes, especially when it came time to celebrate Halloween in October. A lot of great shows over the years have done an great job of embracing our favorite holiday, and if you’re feeling a bit nostalgic, here’s a collection of Halloween-themed TV specials currently available on Netflix Instant that should help get you guys ready for All Hallows’ Eve.
One Note: There are a handful of entries here that aren’t necessarily Halloween episodes, but they are still shows I love revisiting every October as they perfectly embody the spirit of the season.
American Dad (Season 6, Episode 3)

There is no demographic more in need of good, solid belly laughs than airline passengers. These folks are exhausted, disoriented, oxygen-deprived, and strapped to their chairs inside giant, airborne aluminum tubes. A comedian couldn’t ask for a better audience. And it is at this point that plucky Southwest Airlines flight attendant Zach Haumesser enters the narrative. Haumesser, in addition to his stewarding duties, moonlights as a puppeteer and does impressions, too. A real cut-up, this one. Life of the party every time, guaranteed. One of Haumesser’s specialties is imitating the iconic Looney Tunes characters, including Elmer Fudd, Bugs Bunny, Sylvester, and the Tasmanian Devil. Happily, Haumesser has found a way to bring his work and his passion together. A popular YouTube video called “Southwest Looney Tunes,” shot during a recent trip to Chicago and uploaded by a coworker, shows the eccentric flight attendant reading the boilerplate landing speech...

Between them, Melissa McCarthy and husband Ben Falcone have staged rip-roaring road trips in Tammy and wealthy CEOs with the release of last week’s comedy, The Boss. It’s a cinematic partnership that impresses more in the box office department than anything else, though it’s one that will continue when McCarthy becomes the Life of the Party.
Setting up shop at New Line, The Hollywood Reporter has learned that McCarthy and Falcone’s third comedy effort will come tethered with a similar production budget to Tammy – somewhere in the $19 million ballpark, essentially – as the studio looks to carry out a similarly low-budget, high-profit feat.
Placing the soon-to-be-Ghostbuster as the movie’s lead, it’s understood that “the film has been described as being akin in tone to the Rodney Dangerfield hit Back to School and pitched as a broad comedy playing on McCarthy’s strengths.” While it’s...

Whether you know her from Gilmore Girls or Bridesmaids, it.s a pretty safe assumption that you know who Melissa McCarthy is. She.s exploded into popularity and whether you like her or not, you can.t escape her. Even though their latest collaboration, The Boss, just released in theaters this weekend, it appears that Melissa McCarthy and husband Ben Falcone have already gotten the green light for their next film. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Newline has picked up the couple's latest film, Life of the Party. Melissa McCarthy is expected to star while Ben Falcone will direct off of a screenplay that the duo wrote together. This will be the third film from the husband and wife, the other two being Tammy and The Boss. On the same day that their new Universal comedy “The Boss” hits theaters, Melissa McCarthy and her husband Ben Falcone are re-teaming on a New Line comedy titled “Life of the Party,” an individual familiar with the project has told TheWrap. Like “The Boss,” McCarthy will star and Falcone will direct. The duo co-wrote the script and will produce as well under their On the Day banner. They previously collaborated on New Line’s “Tammy,” which grossed more than $100 million worldwide. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but an insider likens “Life of the Party” to the 1986 Rodney Dangerfield.

As they launch their latest comedy, Universal’s The Boss, Melissa McCarthy and her husband and frequent collaborator, Ben Falcone, are teaming up for another comedy. New Line has picked up Life of the Party, which McCarthy will star in and Falcone will direct. But wait, there’s more: The duo also wrote the script and, on top of that, will produce the project, which ideally would shoot in August. The film reteams McCarthy and Falcone with New Line after the surprise hit Tammy, the 2014 comedy that grossed over $100 million worldwide — five times its $19 million budget. New Line is hoping to keep

2.10 Hollywood Ending
Well, it’s fair to say that didn’t disappoint. It’s safe to say I didn’t get everything I wanted – Dottie to come back, for instance – but other than that it’s hard to be upset about anything in this episode. This series has really been more about the characters than the plot, and pretty much everyone’s been through the wringer by the time the episode ends. Predictably, not everyone survived, but it’s safe to say that the death wasn’t at all expected.
But first things first. If anyone’s fate bothers me here, it’s Jason Wilkes’. Whether or not we believe that he was being influenced by Zero Matter (and the show never quite convinced me he was...

Agent Carter season 2 has so far delivered nine straight episodes of top-quality TV. Can its finale continue that winning streak?
This review contains spoilers.
2.8 The Edge Of Mystery & 2.9 A Little Song And Dance
In another double-length instalment ahead of the upcoming (single-episode) finale, Agent Carter continues its unbroken run of greatness. Which makes it all the more galling that the only reason they’re pumping these episodes out so quickly is because the ratings are in the toilet. It’s no wonder people have a low opinion of network television when smart, original work like Agent Carter can’t get people interested (I dare not even look at how well Supergirl is or isn’t doing).
The latter of the two episodes was a particular rollercoaster, opening with a frankly exquisite musical number that had virtually no reason to exist and was therefore the best thing they...

Hayley Atwell has responded to the rumours that Agent Carter could be finishing after season 2 to allow her to star in a new ABC legal drama by the name of Conviction.
Is she happy with how Agent Carter season 2 ended, if that does happen to be the ultimate end for the series? 2.6 Life Of The Party & 2.7 Monsters
Well, after wondering where Dottie was last episode, this pair of episodes brought her right back to the forefront of the series in a big way, and it was everything I dreamed. Her gloriously sadistic, sarcastic outlook contrasts brilliantly with the chipper, moralising Brits in the cast and the predatory vibe she gives off towards Peggy in particular could not be more glorious. Forget the increasingly uninteresting Sousa/Peggy/Wilkes love triangle, I’m far more interested in a Dottie/Peggy/Jarvis thing.
At least Wilkes finally grew some personality this week. After spending the entire run of the series grinning dimly at Peggy the writers finally gave him a chance to wrestle with the enormity of his...

As we get ready to wrap up the second season of ABC’s Agent Carter, this week gave us two juicy hours of everyone’s favorite agent as everything is starting to come together. But in order to get to the next step of their mission, Team Carter is forced to reach out the show’s first big bad for help: Dottie Underwood. The one thing I was hesitant about two episodes airing back-to-back was that they would feel like two completely separate episodes with not that many connective threads. ABC has released the synopsis for the sixth episode of Agent Carter season 2, and it suggests that we’ll be seeing Peggy (Hayley Atwell) turn to none other that cold-blooded assassin Dorothy “Dottie” Underwood (Bridget Regan) for help.
Though the character isn’t mentioned by name, Atwell has previously hinted that Peggy is going to “need her” at some point during the season, and since Regan is listed as a guest star, it isn’t too much of a leap to assume that she’ll appear here.

Underwood was one of the most popular characters from the first season, and fans have been highly anticipating her return. When we last left her, she was in FBI custody, so there’s a decent chance we’ll be seeing a Clarice Starling/Hannibal Lecter type dynamic between the two women as Peggy pays a visit to Dottie...
Though the character isn’t mentioned by name, Atwell has previously hinted that Peggy is going to “need her” at some point during the season, and since Regan is listed as a guest star, it isn’t too much of a leap to assume that she’ll appear here.

The X-Files frequently gives its viewers images that are hard to shake: A demonic death fetishist skulking through the shadows. An armless and legless inbred woman hidden under a bed. Twin Kathy Griffins. (Okay, forget that last one.) So it's appropriate that "Founders Mutation" opens with an extreme close-up of a heavily bloodshot eye. Someone, it seems, has seen too much. His name is Dr. Sanjay (Christopher Logan), and he's an employee at Nugenics Technology who, when asked whether his weekend activities were "work or pleasure," responds with a morose, "I haven't known pleasure for quite some time." Life of the party, this one. Things don't get much better for Sanjay when he attends a staff meeting. While the other employees rattle on about their work and their company's mysterious "founder," Sanjay hears a high-pitched screech that nearly doubles him over. As a flock of crows ominously gathers outside, Sanjay...

“Try it again. What have you got to lose at this point?”
Lucille’s dry words of encouragement toward Forrest’s dad as he shivers and sobs at the prospect of firing yet another arrow at his whey-faced son, already pincushioned with two, might as well be the tagline for the show’s promotional campaign. Forrest has left so much in flames behind him that an arrow through his heart might as well be nothing, just another gory accident in a long chain of misery and heartbreak stretching all the way back to ‘Stealing, Addiction, Prom.’ Forrest’s father queasily tells his son that he loves him, and then he looses an arrow through a plate-glass window and shoots Lucille in the chest.

Pharrell Williams can do no wrong in my book — although he came pretty darn close when he anthropomorphized musical notes during the final night of The Voice‘s Season 8 Knockout Rounds.
“Cracking doesn’t mean you hit a bad note,” declared the Coach Most Likely to Be Confused With Yoda to his obvious favorite contestant Lowell Oakley. “It means you’ve given up on the note — and left it out there by itself.”

It's always fun when our favorite TV shows give us Halloween themed episodes during this fun and creepy time of year. Some shows offer us real horror, while others use the opportunity to make us laugh. There are certain Halloween episodes that I have enjoyed watching over the years that have stuck with me, and I've put together a list of ten of my favorites that I think are awesome. I didn't include Halloween specials like It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown or Garfield's Halloween Special because those was more specialized, and not really a part of a series. You can go through my picks below, and when you're done, let me know what some of your favorite Halloween episodes are!
The X-Files - "Home"
Technically this isn't a Halloween-themed episode, but it did air in October, and it was one hell of a terrifying hour of television. I mean,...

There are two upcoming movie musicals that, for a long time, I've wanted to make into motion pictures, should someone with money be willing to give me the funds to make them -- Into The Woods and The Last 5 Years. I'm both nervous and excited to see how directors Rob Marshall and Richard Lagravenese, respectfully, have interpreted the material I hold so close to my heart. I am especially nervous for Into The Woods, given Marshall's less than impressive track record. If someone is going to screw up something I cherish, it should be me. Of course, there are far more than two musicals I have a deep connection to. Some have already been made into films, like Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and Les Miserables, but there is a vast collection of musicals I have thought could make fantastic films, but have never been made.

Now, he can call himself a best-selling artist, too. 37 minutes after its release, Mendes' debut Ep, titled Life of the Party, has reached the top of the iTunes charts. In the past year, Mendes has emerged on Vine thanks to his six-second covers of popular songs. As he gained more followers, he began to show off his own original works, which led to a deal with Island Records and the release of his debut single, "Life of the Party", on July 12th. That song debuted at #24 on the Billboard charts, making the 15-year-old Mendes the youngest musician to ever reach the Hot 100. Sean's album release has added another impressive accomplishment.
