Grace Jones was born on May 19, 1948 in Spanish Town, St Catherine, Jamaica to Marjorie Jones (née Williams) and Reverend Robert W. Jones. When she was 12 she moved to Syracuse, New York, joining her family who had already moved there. She studied acting at Syracuse University and appeared in her first musical; halfway through college, she was approached by a drama professor who proposed that she work with him in a play he was putting on in Philadelphia, she accepted.
Jones later moved to New York City and signed on as a model with Wilhelmina Models, but when her looks weren't successfully received, she moved to Paris, France, where her androgynous, bold, dark-skinned appearance was so highly visible, she began to model for Yves Saint-Laurent, Claude Montana, Kenzo Takada, Helmut Newton, Guy Bourdin, Hans Feurer, and Azzedine Alaïa, and she appeared on the covers of "Elle", "Vogue", and "Der Stern."
Disillusioned with modeling, and since she always wanted to be an actress, she began her movie career playing small parts, her first being in the blaxploitation flick Gordon's War (1973) followed by an uncomfortable cameo in the unwatchable French sex comedy Let's Make a Dirty Movie (1976). It wasn't until the the '80s that Jones' on-screen career really soared, when she appeared in three supporting roles: Zula, the amazonian warrior in the American sword and sorcery/adventure film Conan the Destroyer (1984); May Day, the secondary antagonist in the 14th James Bond film A View to a Kill (1985); and Katrina, a bloodthirsty Egyptian vampire queen in the comedy horror Vamp (1986). Leaving audiences with only the resonance of unique and tantalizing movie performances, Jones hasn't acted in a feature film since the '90s.
In recent years, Jones's primary focus is sharing the vulnerability behind her larger-than-life persona. Jones and director Sophie Fiennes released the documentary Grace Jones: Bloodlight and Bami (2017). According to Fiennes, the documentary is not a retelling of what can easily be found in books and magazines, but an intimate portrait of Jones in recent years as she returns to Jamaica, the country of her birth and childhood, for a family reunion.- André René Roussimoff was born in a small farming community in Grenoble, France to Boris and Marian Rouismoff. His parents and four siblings were all of normal size, but André suffered from acromegaly, a hormonal disorder that results when the pituitary gland produces excess growth hormone. As the Giant grew up (very quickly, as he reached the height of 6' 3" by the age of 12) he began to often disagree with his parents. He left home at 14 and obtained a job with a furniture-moving firm and began to play rugby. At 17 he was seen training at a gym by several professional wrestlers. Impressed by his size, they taught him some basic wrestling skills and built a friendship with him. Later, when one of the wrestlers was injured, André stepped in for him. He would wrestle for nearly thirty more years. By his early 20s André had wrestled in Algeria, South Africa, Morocco, Tunisia, England, Scotland, and most of non-Communist Europe but had not found fame. In 1971 he came to North America under the name Jean Ferre and was mildly popular in Canada. Then he met a New York based booker by the name of Vincent J. McMahon (often incorrectly referred to as "Vince McMahon Sr") who renamed him "Andre the Giant," and billed him as 7' 4" (Andre was really closer to 7'). Soon Andre the Giant became a national sensation and was a much sought after wrestler. In addition he participated in television, movies, and commercials. With his wealth the Giant bought a ranch in Ellerbe, North Carolina where he would live during his rare time off and after he retired from wrestling in 1990. He died while in France after attending his father's funeral. André was cremated and his ashes were spread across his ranch. He is survived by his one daughter.

In other film roles, Roach nearly eliminates 007 Sean Connery in the Bond film Never Say Never Again (1983), in dual roles as a resurrected demon and as a fierce warrior, he fought Arnold Schwarzenegger in the Conan sequel Conan the Destroyer (1984), and was back as a ferocious Indian guard pummeling poor Harrison Ford once again in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), before falling into a rock crusher.

After losing the lead in MGM's Tarzan the Ape Man (1932) due to a shoulder injury, he was contracted by Ashton Dearholt for his independent production of The New Adventures of Tarzan (1935), a serial and the only Tarzan film between the silents and the 1960s to present the character accurately, as a sophisticated, educated English nobleman who preferred living in the jungle and was able to speak directly with animals in their own language. He subsequently found himself typecast and confined to starring roles in other serials and character and even bit parts in poverty row features and two-reeler comedies. After starring in the Republic Pictures serial Hawk of the Wilderness (1938) as the Tarzan-like Kioga, he dropped out of films for a few years, took acting lessons, and changed his name to Bruce Bennett. He made many movies after that, gaining fame as a leading man in many Warners products. In 1960, he retired from acting and went into business, becoming sales manager of a major vending machine company, making only occasional TV guest appearances. A reclusive man, he eschewed interviews, although he did appear at one Burroughs-oriented convention in the 1970s and discussed some of his experiences during the making of his Tarzan serial. But it was her part as Dr Alex Christensen on the popular Australian television series The Secret Life of Us (2001) that was the most significant turning point in her career. Karvan has credited this role, as well as her occasional turn in the director's chair, with allowing her to gain more control of her work - something for which she has always strived.
In 2004, Claudia began work on the highly popular Foxtel/Southern Star series, Love My Way (2004), as creator, producer and star and in 2007, she has just completed filming the show's third series. At just 18, Nancy Kwan was studying dance with England's Royal Ballet School, when she was spotted by producer Ray Stark, who tested her and gave her the starring role of a free-spirited Hong Kong prostitute who captivates artist William Holden in The World of Suzie Wong (1960). She followed it the next year with the hit musical, Flower Drum Song (1961), and became one of Hollywood's most visible Asian actresses. Born in China to a Chinese father and British mother, Kwan spent the 1960s commuting between film roles in America and Europe (including the pilot for Hawaii Five-O (1968)), but faded from view in the West, when she returned to her native Hong Kong in 1972 to be with her critically ill father. Divorced from her second husband, screenwriter David Giler, and with a young son from her first marriage to Austrian hotelier Peter Pock, Kwan intended to stay a year, but wound up staying a decade.
As managing director of her own production company, she produced and directed dozens of commercials for the Southeast Asia market. She also acted in a spate of films made for Southeast Asian audiences, including "Fear" (1977) (aka Night Creature (1978)), which introduced her to filmmaker Norbert Meisel, who became her third husband. They returned to the US in 1979 so that her teenage son, Bernie Pock, could complete his education. He was a martial-arts master, fluent in Chinese, and became a stunt coordinator and actor before his untimely death.
After returning to the US, Kwan appeared in numerous TV series, the NBC miniseries, Noble House (1988), and the CBS made-for-TV movie, Miracle Landing (1990). She's politically active as the spokeswoman for the Asian-American Voters Coalition, and touts a beauty product, Oriental Pearl Cream, in TV spots. Kwan was at the ceremonies in Los Angeles at Hollywood Park, where the Asian community gathered to watch the handover of Hong Kong to the government of China.- Director

With Sidste omgang (1993) (Last Round), his graduation short from The National Film School of Denmark, Thomas Vinterberg got an early taste of critical success. He received the Jury's and Producers' Awards at the International Student Film Fest in Munich and won the 1st Prize at the Tel Aviv Film Fest. Popular success followed with his breakthrough short fiction film, Drengen der gik baglæns (1995), about a boy, who - after the death of his brother - discovers he can turn back time by walking backwards. This poetic short film was followed the reckless and fast-paced thriller, The Biggest Heroes (1996).
Vinterberg is one of the founding "brothers" of dogme95, a set of rules dedicated to reintroducing the element of risk in filmmaking. The Celebration (1998) was not only his first Dogme95 project it was also his first international success. With this movie he "penetrated a layer of evil and abomination [he'd] never been to before" (according to an interview by Bo Green Jensen for Weekend Avisen). The story revolves around Family patriarch Helge Klingenfeldt Hansen, celebrating his 60th birthday. In a speech the eldest son addresses his father, supposedly to honor him, only to reveal the father's darkest secret. Among other international prizes, Vinterberg received the Prix du Jury of the Cannes International Film Festival.
His feature, It's All About Love (2003), is a departure from the dogme95 project. It is the story of John (Joaquin Phoenix) and Elena (Claire Danes), whose marriage has fallen apart. Their troubled relationship is reflected in their surroundings as Vinterberg attempts to create a parallel between the chaos of the world and the chaos inside the characters.
Back in his homeland, Thomas Vinterberg nevertheless sticks to the English language. His Dear Wendy (2005), written by Lars von Trier, is a fierce attack against America's obsession with weapons. In 2007, Vinterberg returns to Danish with When a Man Comes Home (2007) whose subject (a singer comes home to the town he left behind) is appropriate to the circumstances. Vinterberg strikes hard with his next two works, Submarino (2010), the gloomy story of two brothers who try to cope with their depressing everyday lives and The Hunt (2012), the shocking tale of a man who falls prey to a madding crowd. It was no surprise to anyone that his next project was a new adaptation of a Thomas Hardy novel with Far from the Madding Crowd (2015).- Writer

Nora Ephron was educated at Wellesley College, Massachusetts. She was an acclaimed essayist (Crazy Salad 1975), novelist (Heartburn 1983), and had written screenplays for several popular films, all featuring strong female characters, such as anti-nuclear activist Karen Silkwood (Silkwood (1983), co-written with Alice Arlen) and a mobster's feisty independent daughter Cookie Voltecki (Cookie (1989), also co-written with Arlen). Ephron's hard-headed sensibilities helped make Rob Reiner's When Harry Met Sally... (1989) a clear-eyed view of modern romance, and she earned an Oscar nomination for her original screenplay.
Ephron made her directorial debut with the comedy This Is My Life (1992), co-scripted by her sister Delia Ephron, which starred Julie Kavner as a single mother who struggles to establish herself as a stand-up comedienne. Ephron followed up by helming and co-writing Sleepless in Seattle (1993), a romantic comedy in which lovers Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan are separated for most of the film. Less about love than about love in the movies, the film drew inspiration from the beloved shipboard romance An Affair to Remember (1957), starring Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr.
Ephron was born in New York City, the daughter of stage and screen writing team Henry Ephron and Phoebe Ephron, who used her infancy as the subject of their play "Three's a Family" and based their comedy Take Her, She's Mine (1963) on letters their daughter wrote them from college. Their screenplays include There's No Business Like Show Business (1954), Carousel (1956) and Desk Set (1957). Formerly married to novelist Dan Greenburg and investigative journalist Carl Bernstein, Ephron was wed to crime journalist and screenwriter Nicholas Pileggi, at the time of her passing, who wrote such films as Goodfellas (1990). She was of Russian Jewish descent.- Catherine Haena Kim was born in Queens, New York, USA. Catherine Haena is an actor, known for The Company You Keep (2023), Ballers (2015) and FBI (2018).

Her English-born mother, Olga Mironoff, was of Russian descent, and had been a beautiful chorus girl. Her father was a successful English car salesman, Henry Mallet. Her parents divorced and Olga remarried, to George Dawson, with whom she had three sons. George turned out to be a non-violent con man who was sent to prison for three years for committing fraud. Her older brother is actress Helen Mirren's father, making Mallet and Mirren first cousins. They grew up together. Helen wrote in her 2007 autobiography that her cousin "survived this extraordinary upbringing and came out miraculously a loyal and generous person." Tania took a course at the Lucy Clayton School of Modelling and started working as a model at just 16 years old.
In 1961, she appeared as herself in the documentary about models in Michael Winner's Girls Girls Girls! (1961). In 1963 she was considered for the role of the lead James Bond girl in From Russia with Love (1963). Although half-Russian, her provincial English accent deemed her unsuitable for the role of the Russian love interest, so she lost the role to Daniela Bianchi. However, the following year she was cast in the next Bond film, Goldfinger (1964) , playing the ill-fated Tilly Masterson. She agreed to appear in "Goldfinger" as an experiment. She was earning £2,000 a week as a model, and after much bargaining managed to secure only £150 a week as her fee for the film. She claimed that she could not afford to continue working as an actress, because she was earning more as a model. She was supporting her mother and putting her half-brothers thru school with her income as a model.
Tania had mixed feelings about her time on "Goldfinger". Filming was fun, but in her personal life her long-time boyfriend had died at the same time. She had no desire to pursue a career as an actress and went back to modeling. Her first marriage ended when she was still young. In 1976, she married her second husband, Simon Radcliffe, a management consultant. She became a stepmother to his children, including publicist Louisa Radcliffe. It was a marriage that lasted 40 years, when her husband died in 2016, leaving her a widow. She enjoyed a warm relationship with Mirren since childhood, as evidenced by the photos of the two smiling cousins in the latter's autobiography. Mallet continued to attend James Bond events and autographed her photographs at these events.
She died on March 30, 2019 at the age of 77 from undisclosed causes. A day later, Mirren publicly posted a loving tribute, calling Tania a "kind and generous" person and a "great optimist". - Actress

Albert Pyun was an award-winning US filmmaker best known for his contributions to the science-fiction and action genres. He is credited with pioneering the cyborg sub-genre and is considered to be a maverick and renegade in independent genre cinema. With over 50 titles to his name, he has enjoyed a prolific career spanning 30+ years and has earned himself a fevered cult following.
His first film, The Sword and the Sorcerer (1982), was the highest-grossing independent film of 1982, earning $36,714,025 in the US. The film's success led to Pyun being attached to various large sci-fi projects, including Total Recall (1990) (eventually directed by Paul Verhoeven) and he became a much sought-after director by several studios. His follow-up film was the post-apocalyptic sci-fi Radioactive Dreams (1984), which helped launch the careers of Michael Dudikoff and John Stockwell, and cemented Pyun's reputation for being an edgy and creative filmmaker. The 1980s was a highly productive decade for him, with the release of Dangerously Close (1986), Vicious Lips (1986), Down Twisted (1987), Alien from L.A. (1988), Journey to the Center of the Earth (1988), Cyborg (1989) and Deceit (1990).
Pyun's work with Cannon Pictures saw him direct more films for the company than any other filmmaker and his involvement with "Spider-Man" and "Masters of the Universe 2" became legendary. When both films were canceled mid-way into their productions, Pyun devised a breakneck strategy to combine the sets and costume designs from both to salvage the lost money and deliver a single stand-alone film. The result was Cyborg (1989), which opened in 1989 as the fourth highest grossing film in the United States. It grossed $10,166,459 and gave Jean-Claude Van Damme his Hollywood superstar status.
The 1990s proved to be an even more prolific decade, with Pyun directing a further 24 films. Notable throughout those years include Captain America (1990), Nemesis (1992), Nemesis 2: Nebula (1995), Nemesis 3: Time Lapse (1996), Nemesis 4: Death Angel (1996), Kickboxer 2: The Road Back (1991), Knightriders (1981), Omega Doom (1996), Adrenalin: Fear the Rush (1996), Hong Kong 97 (1994), Postmortem (1998) and Mean Guns (1997). His work with Charles Band's Full Moon Pictures saw him direct Dollman (1991) and Arcade (1993), both of which continue to hold a strong cult following.
The 2000s marked a new era for Pyun, as he moved away from the independent studio system and began making films much more independently by way of self-funding and outsourcing money personally. This allowed for greater creative freedoms as a filmmaker, despite his budgets being drastically reduced. His new approach to filmmaking has divided audiences, however; those who have followed his career closely agree that his films since 2000 have been far more audacious and personal, none more so than his 2013 film Road to Hell (2008) (shot in 2008). Inspired by Walter Hill's classic Streets of Fire (1984), the film acts as a spiritual sequel and presents the two protagonists in an alternative future. Michael Paré and Deborah Van Valkenburgh reprised their roles of Tom and Reva Cody and their characters are pitted against a vibrant and surreal purgatory landscape. The film has enjoyed a steady run on the festival circuit and is slated for a home-entertainment release. Other notable films from this decade include the stunning one-shot horror film Invasion (2004) (aka "Infection"), the brutal drug trade thriller Bulletface (2010) and the long-awaited Abelar: Tales of an Ancient Empire (2010), a follow up to "The Sword and the Sorcerer". Investor and distributor interference on this film jeopardized the final theatrical cut and the film is slated, along with several of his other films, for an upcoming director's cut release.
The 2010s have proven to be a difficult time in Pyun's career due to declining health and difficulties getting a major project released. His film Cyborg Nemesis: The Dark Rift was shot, but remains unfinished due to pending post-production issues. An incomplete version of the film was screened for an audience at the Yellow Fever Independent Film Festival. His health took a turn for the worst in 2012 when he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. The effect of the illness took an emotional and physical toll on him and in early 2013 he announced his retirement. Following a brief hiatus he concluded that the best remedy was filmmaking and he made a triumphant return with The Interrogation of Cheryl Cooper (2014). While he endured medical tests and treatments, the film had an incredibly fast turnaround and was written, shot and completed within a matter of weeks. The story line was a direct follow-up to "Invasion" and continued the one-shot concept. It was entirely filmed over the course of a single day and showcased Pyun's ability to think outside the box, both practically and creatively.
As of 2015 Pyun had attempted to develop various other projects, while maintaining ongoing treatment for his multiple sclerosis. These projects include "Napoleon", "The Kickboxer": "City of Blood" and "Algiers". In maintaining a strong relationship with his fan base Pyun has shared the production details of these projects on his Facebook page and maintains that he is still actively pursuing them. Their further development will depend on his ongoing health. He attributes his relationship with his fans as a driving force in fighting his illness and he has shared his medical journey with them almost every step of the way.
November of 2015 saw the release of a conceptual teaser trailer for a brand-new film titled "Star Warfare Rangers" and the "Cyborg Witch of Endor" (later retitled Interstellar Civil War: Shadows of the Empire (2017)). Having evolved from various attempts to revive his "Cyborg" saga, the film is an original story detailing the search for a missing Cyborg child. The film marked Albert's 33rd collaboration with his long-standing composer Tony Riparetti and boasts an impressive cast including Brad Thornton, Glenn Maynard, Ellie Church, Tommie Vegas, Shane Ryan and Morgan Weisser, among others.
Pyun's career has seen him work with some of the biggest stars in Hollywood, many of whom got their first break with him. He has worked with the likes of Jean-Claude Van Damme, Sasha Mitchell, Christopher Lambert, Natasha Henstridge, Brion James, Tim Thomerson, Jackie Earle Haley, Teri Hatcher, Rutger Hauer, Olivier Gruner, Charlie Sheen, Burt Reynolds, Steven Seagal, Rob Lowe, Ice-T, Snoop Dogg, Kevin Sorbo, Tom Sizemore, Andrew Dice Clay, Dennis Hopper, Kevin Gage, Robert Patrick, Seth Green, Dennis Chan, Ned Beatty, Darren McGavin, Ronny Cox, Kris Kristofferson, George Kennedy, Richard Lynch, Lee Horsley, Richard Moll, Courteney Cox, Tom Matthews, Nicholas Guest, Kathy Ireland, Deep Roy, Michel Qissi, Andrew Divoff, David Carradine, Vincent Klyn, Mitch Pileggi, Yuji Okumoto, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Michael Pare and Deborah Van Vulkenburgh. She is mysteriously teleported to the extra-dimensional planet of Gaea, and gets involved in local conflicts. Having saved the life of the young king Van Fanel in their first meeting, she soon becomes his trusted companion and his love interest.
Sheridan voiced an alternate version of Hitomi Kanzaki in the animated film "Escaflowne" (2000), which did not resemble the original series. This version of Hitomi was initially a depressed and suicidal girl, with no genuine powers. When she is transported to Gaea and identified as the goddess depicted in a prophesy, she struggles to rebuild her confidence. She gets paired with a more violent and ruthless version of Van, as the film featured a much darker world than its predecessor.
Sheridan voiced Nikki in "Cardcaptors" (2000-2001). The series was n English-language adaptation of the anime series "Cardcaptor Sakura" (1998-2000), but changed the names and personalities of most of the characters. Nikki was the counterpart of Naoko Yanagisawa from the original series. Naoko was depicted as a bespectacled cheerleader, and as a close friend of the protagonist Sakura Avalon/Sakura Kinomoto. Naoko had a fascination with ghost stories and scary situations, which became plot relevant when her imagination unwittingly empowered the creations of a magical card.
Sheridan voiced the Scarlet Witch/Wanda Maximoff in "X-Men: Evolution" (2000-2003). This version of the character was a young villain, rather than Marvel's famous superheroine. She had been locked up in an asylum by her father Magneto, and had much anger and resentment for the world surrounding her. Wanda was depicted as mentally unstable, though her hatred was primarily targeted at her father. Fellow villain Toad had an unrequited love for Wanda, a subplot directly inspired by Toad's infatuation with Wanda in the comics.

Sango was the only female adolescent slayer from a village which had mastered the skill of demon slaying, and was the daughter of the village's leader. She used a giant boomerang as her primary weapon, a weapon constructed from demon bones. Sango was typically depicted as devoted to her job, and determined to eliminate her dangerous opponents. Having lost family members and allies in combat, Sango treated her few friends as her surrogate family. She had a sister-like relationship with the time-traveling adventurer Kagome Higurashi, and often treated Kagome's injuries. Sango also had a troubled romantic relationship with the lecherous Miroku, a Buddhist wandering monk and exorcist. They were each other's first love, but had problems in expressing their emotions.
Sheridan voiced the cafe owner Cotton Candy in the Generation 3 version of "My Little Pony", which primarily consisted of direct-to video- films. Cotton Candy was also originally depicted as her town's storyteller, but this premise was soon forgotten. Sheridan started voicing the character in 2003, and had appearances in films such as "A Charming Birthday" and "Friends Are Never Far Away". Generation 3 focused primarily on interpersonal relationships, rather than on fantasy adventures. In 2008, Sheridan started voicing the co-protagonist Cheerilee in a revamped version of Generation 3. This character was her group's wise storyteller. Cheerilee was the older sister of Scootaloo, and the two sisters were depicted as often arguing with each other.
Sheridan voiced Diana Lombard in "Martin Mystery" (2003-2006), an adaptation of the Italian comic book series "Martin Mystère" by Alfredo Castelli. Diana was depicted as the overachieving stepsister of the protagonist, and a fellow agent of the secret organization "The Center". Diana was depicted as a rational intellectual in contrast to her impulsive stepbrother, and typically tried to find rational explanations for paranormal mysteries. Their relationship was different that their comic-book counterparts, who were a married couple rather than step-siblings.
Sheridan voiced the recurring character Mammoth Mutt in "Krypto the Superdog" (2005-2006), depicted as a female chihuahua with size-changing abilities. Mammoth was a member of Dog Star Patrol (DSP). Sheridan voiced Princess Morbucks/Himeko Shirogane in the English dub of "Powerpuff Girls Z" (2006-2007). Himeko was depicted as a wealthy classmate of the protagonists, and typically acted as their frenemy. She was neglected by her parents, and aimed to become the center of attention at school. But she had a secondary personality which was genuinely evil and had energy-based powers. The character was based on a major villain from the original series "The Powerpuff Girls" (1998-2005), the only female villain that had the same age as the protagonist trio. The original Princess Morbucks was in turn a parody of the character Annie Warbucks from the comic strip "Little Orphan Annie" (1924-2010).
In "Mobile Suit Gundam 00" (2007-2009), Sheridan voiced Louise Halevy. Louise started out as a normal girl, but witnessed the deaths of her entire family in a wedding massacre. She also lost her left hand in the same attack. After receiving an artificial limb, Louise started working as a soldier. She was primarily motivated by revenge against those she considered responsible for the attack. She incorrectly thought that her ex-boyfriend Saji Crossroad was involved in the massacre that had changed her life.
Sheridan voiced an older version of Sango in the sequel series "Inuyasha: The Final Act" (2009-2010). The series adapted the last 21 volumes of the "Inuyasha" manga series by Rumiko Takahashi, which had been omitted by the previous adaptation. The first episode had Sango reuniting with her resurrected younger brother, Kohaku. By the end of the series, Sango had married Miroku and had retired from adventuring . She was trying to raise her twin daughters and her newborn son.
Sheridan voiced the Inhuman superheroine Crystal/Crystalia Amaquelin in the miniseries "Inhumans" (2013). Crystal has the ability to psionically control the four classical elements: air, earth, fire, and water. She has appeared in Marvel Comics stories since 1965, and has served as a member of both the Fantastic Four and the Avengers. In the same series, Sheridan voiced the electrically-powered heroine Nahrees and the healer Kalikya. Sheridan also voiced Elizabeth Howlett in the miniseries "Wolverine:Origin" (2013). Elizabeth was the mother of Wolverine/James Howlett, though she avoided interacting with him for most of his early life. She committed suicide after the violent deaths of both her husband and her secret lover, having already denounced her son as a "monster"
Sheridan voiced the Eternal heroine Sersi in the miniseries "Marvel Knights: Eternals" (2014). The character is an immortal with the ability to rearrange the molecular structure of matter, including that of living organisms. She is based on the mythological witch Circe from the "Odyssey", and has served as a member of the Avengers. She has also served as a love interest to her teammate Black Knight/Dane Whitman, though their relationship is undermined by periods of mental instability experienced by both characters.
Sheridan voiced the recurring villain Praxina in the English version of the magical girl series "LoliRock" (2014-2017). In the series, the evil wizard Lord Gramorr had usurped control of the world of Ephedia, but was magically bound to its central castle and was unable to leave it. He send the adolescent twins Praxina and Mephisto to planet Earth in order for them to deal with escaped nobility from their world, and to complete other magical tasks. The evil magical girl Praxina typically had the lion share's of the screen time among the villains, and had closer personal interactions with the series' heroines. At the end of the second season, Praxina starts wearing the mask of the recently deceased Gramorr, and starts being motivated by a need for revenge. She was intended to serve as the main villain of the third season, but that season was never produced.
Among Sheridan's best known television roles was the magic user Starlight Glimmer in the fantasy series "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" (2010-2019). She portrayed the character from 2015 to 2019. Originally introduced as the primary villain of the series' 5th season and as a new rival to protagonist Twilight Sparkle, Starlight later became a hero in her own right. She became Twilight's primary student/apprentice and housemate. Starlight was depicted as one of the most skilled magic users in the land of Equestria, but she had a tendency to act on impulse and did not fully understand the consequences of her own actions. She was shocked to learn that one of her time-travel schemes would have resulted in the creation of post-apocalyptic versions of reality, and afterwards struggled with self-doubt.
Sheridan voiced Indigo Zap in the animated film "My Little Pony: Equestria Girls - Friendship Games" (2015). The character was a member of the Crystal Prep Academy Shadowbolts, a rival team to the protagonists in a competition involving both academic and athletic abilities. Indigo had a passion for winning, but was overly aggressive towards her rivals. She was frustrated with the timidity of her teammate Twilight Sparkle, but jumped to Twilight's defense when she saw her being intimidated by Sunset Shimmer (a member of the rival team). The character was reportedly based on the antagonist Lightning Dust from "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic", but lacked Lightning's distinctive recklessness.
Sheridan voiced Jochebed in a 2019 episode of the biblical-themed series "Superbook". Jochebed is typically portrayed as the biological mother of Moses, who was adopted and raised by a Pharaoh's daughter. She was also the mother of the high priest Aaron and the prophetess Miriam. Jochebed was typically portrayed as a distant ancestor of the Aaronite priests (Kohanim) depicted in ancient Jewish writings.
In the early 2020s, Sheridan had few new roles. She has not yet retired from acting, though whether she will return to the spotlight remains to be seen. She has gained a fan following due to her association with several popular animated series, and her memorable portrayal of some key characters.
