The Hulk has always been a downgraded version of his comic book character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Instead of the ferocious and formidable character that we often see in the comics, Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk is more of a parody of the green Goliath as per several Marvel fans.

However, that might be changing soon as per insider reports about the upcoming Harrison Ford movie, Captain America: Brave New World. Featuring Ford as Thaddeus Thunderbolt Ross, the film might help restore Hulk’s legacy that Marvel fans have been demanding for a long, long time.

The MCU is currently the biggest cinematic universe ever, with 33 movies and dozens of live-action shows. It has introduced hundreds of characters, ranging from humans to gods and strange creatures. Some characters protect the Earth from evil forces, while others seek to plunge it into chaos.
Judging the overall strength and powers of these characters is tricky since it depends on the situation and how they use their abilities. To get a clearer picture, we turned to Ranker, where nearly 7,000 fans voted for who they think is the most powerful character in the MCU. Here are the results.
10. Vision
I was surprised to see Vision ranked so high on the list, while his creator didn’t even make the top 15. But it makes sense. Vision was created by the Mind Stone, and characters with powers from the Infinity Stones tend to rank really high.

We've been hearing social media buzz about a possible World War Hulk project at Marvel Studios for at least the past couple of years. Where it potentially fits into the wider Multiverse Saga is hard to say, though it seems the story isn't necessarily going to be what you'd expect.
Described by The Cosmic Circus as a "World War" storyline, the groundwork for this has supposedly been laid in Spider-Man: Far From Home, WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Black Widow, Eternals, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and Secret Invasion.
The gist is that the fear world leaders have of superheroes, and the fact The Avengers are no more, will lead to an arms race of sorts which sees them attempt to create their own superhuman soldiers and teams.
This explains France's surprising decision to try and steal Vibranium from...

Every year, rumors resurface about the development of the ‘World War Hulk’ movie. These speculations have persisted for years with no apparent resolution. Recently, Ruffalo confirmed that the studio never intended to give him a solo movie, largely due to complex rights issues stemming from a decade-long struggle with Universal.
In his Discord Ama, Cosmic Circus’ Alex Perez revealed that the studio is gradually laying the groundwork for the ‘World War Hulk’ storyline, albeit in a manner that diverges from fan expectations. This approach seems logical, especially if Hulk cannot have a standalone project; the narrative would need to encompass multiple characters and various projects.

Now during his Discord Ama, Cosmic Circus’ Alex Perez has stated that the studio is slowly preparing the ‘World War Hulk’ storyline, but not in a way that fans expected. Indeed, isn’t it astonishing how the shifting nature of Tinseltwion, sometimes, has the power to both launch and sink careers, frequently relying on the schemes of powerful personalities colliding behind the camera? Having said that, egos can clash & friendships can be tested in the entertainment industry. And, in the case of old friends, Joss Whedon and Zak Penn, their working relationship during the production of The Avengers was no exception.
Zak Penn, having valiantly written narratives for cinematic titans (Incident at Loch Ness & The Incredible Hulk), once found himself wrestling with Joss Whedon’s insatiable ego. Unknowingly, this clash resulted in a stark moment of humiliation during the making of the 2012 flick, an event that would live on in Hollywood lore.

While the Marvel Cinematic Universe has dominated the superhero genre in recent years, the film that ruled fans’ hearts even before the Avengers assembled, was Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man. Yesterday evening, the news broke that Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy is being eyed to helm Avengers 5. Marvel Studios must be pleased with the Merc with the Mouth's upcoming threequel, but the report also featured another major revelation.
Apparently, the movie - previously titled Avengers: The Kang Dynasty - will feature upwards of 60 Marvel characters!
As you might have guessed, that got us thinking about who we'll see in Avengers 5. While Marvel Studios has already introduced hundreds of heroes and villains, not all of them would fit into this movie.
So, no, this isn't just a list of 60 MCU characters, it's our breakdown of who we believe would fit into the story as well as which corner of this shared world they hail from. There are bound to be some surprises and glaring omissions which upset some fans, but we think this is a pretty definitive list of exciting possibilities.

Greatness in writing comes in different forms, and two shining examples of this virtue are prolific authors Stephen King and George R.R. Martin. While King is popularly known as the ‘King of Horror’ for his masterful depiction of narratives in the genre like The Shining, Martin is the bonafide genius of fantasy with Game Of Thrones.

Director Shawn Levy may be sticking around the Marvel Cinematic Universe a bit longer.
Levy, who helmed this summer’s “Deadpool and Wolverine,” is being eyed by Marvel — though it’s in very early stages — to direct the next “Avengers” movie.
Destin Daniel Cretton, who made 2021’s Marvel movie “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” was previously supposed to direct the fifth “Avengers” movie, but he backed out in November 2023. That movie, which is scheduled for May 1, 2026, also does not currently have a title. It was originally named “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty,” but lost that title after Jonathan Majors, who was cast as the time-traveling villain Kang the Conqueror, was convicted of assaulting and harassing his ex-girlfriend. After this untitled “Avengers” movie, the next will be “Avengers: Secret Wars,” set for May 7, 2027.

Back in the day — when the MCU was launching careers instead of killing them — Tom Hiddleston had a major breakthrough with his Loki performance in Avengers. The infamous God of Mischief became a much larger character than planned, now even having an entire TV show all for himself, and Hiddleston has massively profited from portraying Loki… But not every part of the journey was to the star’s liking.
Loki’s Iconic Scene Was Humiliating for Hiddleston
In The Avengers, one of Marvel’s best movies ever, Tom Hiddleston makes his first major appearance in the franchise. As the God of Mischief, he’s the main antagonist in this installment and consequently, has to deal with the entire Avengers team which doesn’t go too well for him… Especially, when he pisses off the Hulk and the latter smashes him around the room violently for a good minute.

“Eddie… my home has found me,” the symbiote Venom warns his host Eddie Brock in the first trailer for the third Venom movie, Venom: The Last Dance. For the longest time, that statement wouldn’t make a whole lot of sense.
After all, Venom’s “home” was Battleworld, the planet where the Beyonder took a cadre of heroes and villains in the 1984 Marvel Comics crossover Secret Wars. When Spider-Man’s costume was ruined, a machine on Battleworld created a new one for him, which later revealed itself to be a malevolent symbiote. When Peter abandoned the suit, it bonded with the equally aggrieved photographer Eddie Brock and became Venom.

With the Multiverse Saga failing to connect with audiences in the way Marvel Studios hoped, none of us were surprised to learn Kevin Feige is thinking about reassembling the original six Avengers.
The Infinity Saga was built around Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hawkeye, Black Widow, and The Hulk. While some of them would almost certainly be Variants, that team is certainly one way to get people back into theaters for the next Avengers movies.
Talking to Josh Horowitz, Hawkeye star Jeremy Renner was asked for his thoughts on getting the gang back together.
"Maybe if enough time goes by, right? I think it kind of has at this point, but also what is the point of the narrative [and] the story?" the actor wondered. "These are beloved characters. We did spend 23 films together essentially as a collective. What is the reason? What is the story? Do you have to do more after that?...

Marvel’s iconic character Hulk has been played by several actors. While most fans are rooted in the debate of Mark Ruffalo vs. Edward Norton Hulk, Oscar-winning Taiwanese director Ang Lee brought fans another splendid version of the character, which almost got lost in the debate.

There is simply an unfathomable amount of heroic acts that Marvel’s Avengers have committed, with respect to effectively all of their different iterations. You probably know that Loki (Tom Hiddleston) was the big bad of 2012's "The Avengers" and his role there is why he's still the defining villain of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not even Thanos can say he got his own TV series like Loki did! It's not just the God of Mischief being in the right place at the right time, though.
"Avengers" writer/director Joss Whedon overhauled Loki, turning the meek sad boy from 2011's "Thor" into a wickedly charismatic megalomaniac. Hiddleston took that change and ran with it, proving he can wield an evil grin as effectively as he can puppy dog eyes along the way. Every subsequent Loki appearance has been trying to meld the two characterizations; Loki's an evil bastard, but he does love his mum and big brother Thor (even if he loves himself a bit more).
Loki (really Hiddleston) holds the screen all on his own in "The Avengers.

The iconic ‘Whodunnit’ franchise Knives Out’s ensemble cast is getting bigger and bigger with each passing movie. In the upcoming third installment, Daniel Craig will be reprising his role as Detective Benoit Blanc and will star alongside a slew of well-known Hollywood actors. According to Deadline, MCU star Jeremy Renner has also joined the cast.
Note that, as of now, it is unclear if Renner will be playing himself or a new character. However, some skeptics have raised concerns that the trend of casting MCU stars as villains in the franchise may have gone too far, potentially ruining the original charm of the series. How?

The transition from good to evil has fascinated writers for centuries. Forcing characters to dance on the line of morality has always intrigued audiences more than two-dimensional characters with simple moral compasses. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is well-known for administering such dilemmas to their viewers through the characters they make.

Be it Kilmonger in Black Panther, Thanos’ noble motivations to wipe out half the universe, or the execution of the Punisher’s justice, it is difficult for fans to condemn some villains when their motivations are so complex. Despite this, there are a few characters that have stayed consistent over the years, even though the law would disagree.
Five of the main six Avengers have managed to always have a strong moral compass, ever since the 2011 film, and these traits have stayed consistent. However, it would seem that their actors have played parts that juxtapose their iconic roles.

MCU is at the moment the biggest cinematic universe that ever existed, encompassing 33 movies and dozens of live-action shows, it’s needles to say that it introduced hundreds of characters. From humans to gods and strange creatures some decided to protect the Earth from evil forces, while some wanted to plunge it into chaos.

This is why we decided to turn to Ranker, where nearly 7000 fans cast their vote regarding (in their opinion) the most powerful character in the MCU, and here are the results.

Avengers 5 was originally titled Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. However, the movie lost that shortly after Marvel Studios decided to take the focus off Kang the Conqueror (a reaction to Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania's mixed reviews and Jonathan Majors' firing).
While there have been some pretty reliable Doctor Doom rumours, a new actor is expected to play a Kang Variant who serves as the Multiverse Saga's main threat. Meanwhile, Loki and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness writer Michael Waldron is overhauling Avengers 5's script after Jeff Loveness first took a crack at it.
He was supposedly fired from the project shortly after the Ant-Man threequel flopped, while Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton left the movie to focus on Wonder Man and the Shang-Chi sequel.
Scooper @MyTimeToShineH has shared an update on Avengers 5 today, claiming that pre-production begins next month.

Marvel’s upcoming Fantastic Four reboot has rightly generated hype considering the kind of updates that have come out thus far. While the characters were previously featured in the 20th Century Fox series, perhaps the most accurate depiction from the comics happened in 1994’s Fantastic Four: The Animated Series, as it featured multiple narratives taken straight from various traditional DC arcs.
The titular theory, which suggests that the upcoming movie might as well feature the same characters from the timeline seen in the animated offering makes sense on various fronts. Furthermore, it will also pave the way for the potential inclusion of the X-Men ‘97 characters in a future live-action movie.

The MCU journey began 16 years ago with the release of ‘Iron Man’ in 2008. Since then, across 33 movies and numerous TV shows, we’ve been introduced to hundreds of characters. Whether their role was small or significant, each character had a chance to shine.
Selecting the best characters in such a vast cinematic universe is no easy task. That’s why we turned to Ranker, where over 50,000 fans cast their votes for their personal favorite MCU character. I must say, the number 1 choice surprised me. Let’s dive into the rankings!
10. Scarlet Witch
Despite having one of the shortest character arcs in the MCU, Scarlet Witch’s story deeply resonated with fans. She endured loss, gained powers, and found love – a significant anchor in a chaotic world. Losing her love to Thanos and facing countless challenges along the way, she eventually experienced a profound breakdown during ‘WandaVision.’

Kick-started in 2008 with prime Robert Downey Jr. taking over as Iron Man, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has come a long way from its roots. What started as a series of interconnected movies soon expanded into one of the entertainment industry’s largest ever following the release of 2012’s The Avengers.
The ultimate crossover laced with an intricate storyline gave fans a complete look at arguably the best comic book live-action universe, complete with actors that became synonymous with their roles.
The Original Six Avengers from The Avengers (2012) | Marvel Entertainment
The success of such a crossover largely came off the expertise and brainwork of Kevin Feige, John Favreau, and other early leads who had worked in the early age of superhero movies, that started taking shape in the late ‘90s. However, what if that age had happened a bit closer?

Deadpool & Wolverine will finally bring the Merc with the Mouth and Logan together, and while we're expecting heaps of cameos, there's one we know many of you are eager to see on screen this July.
In case it wasn't already obvious, we're talking about The Hulk. Wolverine debuted in the pages of The Incredible Hulk #180 for an unforgettable clash with the Jade Giant, and Marvel Studios now has the opportunity to recreate that somewhere in the Multiverse.
Offering us an idea of what it might look like is a new fan poster which sees Wolverine and The Hulk in the thick of battle.
As much as we'd love to see this in Deadpool & Wolverine, we wouldn't be surprised if Marvel Studios is saving this for Avengers: Secret Wars. Then again, with The Hulk brought to life with VFX, it might be easy enough to insert the Green Goliath into Wade Wilson and Logan's team-up.

Kevin Feige has been shepherding the MCU since its inception in the late 2000s and came out guns blazing with the first Iron Man in 2008. The MCU soon expanded over the years, and more characters started to populate the narrative and make the universe layered and interconnected.

However, the franchise is struggling to balance all the narratives that they have going on currently. Many loose ends from the many shows and films released in Phase 4 have yet to be resolved or addressed. In Marvel Comics, the Hulk has had a ton of variants ranging from the fiercest one who can destroy universes to the smart one who thinks rationally and decides to merge with Bruce Banner on an agreeable settlement, as was seen in Avengers: Endgame. However, bringing them out to live-action isn’t the easiest of tasks, and even Smart Hulk garnered some negative publicity.

This negative publicity started from the fact that the way Banner was directly shown as the result of his getting merged with his angry alter-ego to become the Smart giant in green instead of showing just how this tremendous transformation took place. That said, had the Russo Brothers not ignored one crucial scene with Mark Ruffalo, this new transition would have arguably been a lot less messy.
