Abby Lee Miller may feel that what she’s done for the young dancers is beautiful – “they know they would never be where they are today if it wasn’t for the show” in her own words – but the kids apparently don’t feel the same way.
While it’s weird that a reunion for ‘Dance Moms’ should happen without the Og dance coach, it’s totally understandable when you remember the amount of pressure she put on those little kids to perform at the time.

Was Dance Moms star Abby Lee Miller too toxic for the recent reunion where the girls gathered together to rehash their dancing days? She was an integral part of the Lifetime series so it was slightly odd that she did not appear. So, what was the exact reason Abby did not pop up? Keep reading for all of the details on Ms. Miller’s reunion absence.
Dance Moms Abby Lee Miller Too Toxic For Reunion
Fans of Lifetime’s Dance Moms were very well aware that Abby Lee Miller was not the easiest teacher to work with. She would demean and yell at her dance students, including JoJo Siwa and Mackenzie Zeigler, making them feel like they were never good enough. Luckily, they all appeared to have come out of the experience unscathed. Some continued dancing and performing, having very successful careers. Others went on to attend university, graduating and living their best lives.

The Dance Moms stars have a love-hate relationship with the pyramid. Abby Lee Miller notoriously ranked her Aldc dancers on her infamous pyramid during the Lifetime show’s run. Once upon a time, Dance Moms was one of the biggest hits on cable TV.
Now, Lifetime is attempting to capitalize on its success with a reunion special set to air in 2014.
Airing from 2011-2019, the hit series focused on Abby Lee Miller as she ran her Abby Lee Dance Company.
That entailed her coaching a team as they learned their dances and competed in tournaments.
The series' success probably stemmed from the drama between Miller and the contestants' parents.
If you watch Dance Moms online, you know what we mean: Abby had countless spats with the parents throughout the show's eight-season run.
Much of the arguments ranged from Abby's treatment of the children to parents being displeased about creative choices from Abby.
It was a lot, and now, it's time for some of the show's most famous faces to return and unpack all of that drama.

With eight seasons and 224 episodes, there is no shortage of content for Dance Moms fans to enjoy. Though the show officially ended years ago, it still has a pretty impressive viewership. Lifetime (the network that the show is home to) often airs reruns of the dance competition show. Furthermore, since most seasons of the show are currently streaming on Hulu, Dance Moms is frequently finding new audiences. However, even diehard fans may have trouble tracking down one specific episode. Season 2, Episode 9 is nearly impossible for fans to watch legally.

It’s been nearly four years since Dance Moms officially ended. Lifetime officially canceled plans for season 9 in 2020, when Abby Lee Miller was accused of racism. However, that hasn’t stopped Miller from teasing that the show could possibly find a home on a new network. Of course, we’d argue that Miller doesn’t have the clout to make that call, as Lifetime likely owns all the rights to the show. But just what is Miller up to in 2023, besides making claims about her return to reality TV?

Fans of Dance Moms will recall that the show made Miller a household name. Often the show’s antagonist, Miller became known for her intense teaching style. The choreographer demanded perfection from her dancers, often belittling them in order to help them achieve the win.

Let's just say Brooke Hyland isn't at the top of Abby Lee Miller's pyramid this week. Dance Moms star turned tween queen Jojo Siwa came to the defense of their former dance instructor when Brooke Hyland posted a shady TikTok about her current relationship with Abby Lee. In the since-deleted clip, which can be viewed here, Brooke says she got a new Facebook friend suggestion from Abby Lee before turning the camera to shake her head and cringe. "It's one thing to just not add her back," Jojo commented, adding, "It's another to post it..." As fans of Dance Moms will remember, Brooke and her younger sister Paige Hyland cut ties with...

That's another legal trophy for Abby Lee Miller. In November, a California judge threw out the defamation and emotional distress allegations from ex-cast member Kelly Hyland and her daughters against the Dance Moms instructor. On Thursday, the same Judge Ruth Kwan dismissed the assault claims from former dancer Paige Hyland in a separate complaint. The judge said today that she'd watched relevant footage from the Lifetime show and saw no evidence that Miller was the…...

It's been a tough year for some kids on reality shows.
From Here Comes Honey Boo Boo to Friday Night Tykes to the kids of Real Housewives with parents getting divorced or going to jail, it could be hard to understand why a parent would want to broadcast their child’s development for all the world to see -- even if they’re able to pay for college down the road with talent fees.
Child advocates who we spoke to said that there aren't enough regulations, especially for shows shot outside California, to protect kids from being overworked and exploited. Unlike the push for a "no kids" policy in paparazzi photos -- which was supported by Kristen Bell and other celebrity parents -- there’s been no coordinated campaign focused on kids on reality shows.

Abby Lee Miller, the tyrannical dance coach from Dance Moms is being sued for assault by former student, and ex-Dance Moms cast member, Paige Hyland.
Paige Hyland Sues Abby Lee Miller For Abuse
Hyland, 13, recently left the Lifetime show, along with her older sister Brooke Hyland and her mother, Kelly Hyland, and has now filed a lawsuit claiming Miller once threw a chair at her and was often physically and verbally abusive towards Paige and her fellow dancers.
The complaint, filed Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court, claims that Miller created an atmosphere of fear by abusing her students and alleges that Miller’s violent behavior was part of a larger scheme to create drama for the reality show. “All of this was a part of a deliberate scheme by the producers to generate interest in the television show and strong ratings when each episode airs,” reads the complaint.
