SpaceX and CEO Elon Musk were hit with another lawsuit on Wednesday by eight former employees alleging Musk personally ordered their firing after they raised concerns about sexual harassment and discrimination against women at the company.
SpaceX fired the workers in 2022 after they wrote and circulated a letter denouncing the CEO’s behavior following sexual misconduct claims against him. The letter called on leadership at the company to address and enforce its harassment polices in the workplace. “Elon’s behavior in the public sphere is a frequent source of distraction and embarrassment for us,...

The Morning Show has a knack for writing itself into a corner. “It requires a lot of junk food to manage the stress,” says executive producer Charlotte Stoudt. “Part of me was like, ‘Who is that season three showrunner? I have a few words for her!’”
As said season three showrunner, Stoudt is joking. She’s now running her second writers room for the Emmy-winning Apple TV+ series, which will shoot its fourth season this summer. “We’re still writing, still breaking story. We’re very much in the middle of it,” she says, thinking back to where she left her characters in the season three finale, and adds with a laugh, “We caused ourselves a lot of problems.”
The WGA Award-winning writer (Fosse/Verdon, Homeland, House of Cards) took over the showrunning reins in 2022 from Kerry Ehrin, who developed and ran the first two seasons. Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon...

Elon Musk can huff, post and puff, but looks like he won’t be blowing the OpenAI house down.
Three and a half months after declaring that he was sueing to compel the Sam Altman-led firm he co-founded to stop chasing profits and “return to its mission to develop Agi for the benefit of humanity,” the X owner today withdrew the lawsuit.
No reason was given for dropping the action. However, being that Musk dismissed his own suit without prejudice, the tempestuous billionaire is free to file again if he chooses.
Noticeably, the dismissal comes about 24 hours before a Bay Area judge had set a hearing on OpenAI and Altman’s motion to toss the case out. Musk’s self-dismissal also comes just over 24 hours after the Tesla boss went on a social media rant about Apple bringing OpenAI’s ChatGPT on board as a backup of sorts for...

Elon Musk’s positions on race and racism can be viewed as problematic, to say the least — much like his ownership of Twitter/X, one of the foremost means of modern communication. He has used the social media platform he bought in October 2022 to attack diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. And last year he tweeted (X’d?) to his millions of followers, accusing “elite” high schools and universities of being racist against white and Asian people.
The South African-born entrepreneur has gone further than that. Fortune magazine says he has promoted the far-right “Replacement Theory” – the very embodiment of white entitlement and fragility. On June 6, NBC News reported, “Elon Musk’s social media app X has been placing advertisements in the search results for at least 20 hashtags used to promote racist and antisemitic extremism, including #whitepower, according to a review of the platform.” Mother Jones published an article in March that said,...

Elon Musk has dropped a lawsuit against OpenAI and chief executive Sam Altman over the company allegedly straying from its founding mission to develop artificial intelligence for the benefit of humanity to instead focus on corporate profits.
The X. Corp owner moved on Tuesday to dismiss the lawsuit “without prejudice,” indicating that a settlement wasn’t reached to resolve the case. The complaint can be refiled.
In 2015, Musk helped found OpenAI, agreeing with co-founders Altman and Greg Brockman, president of the firm, to focus on non-profit work. He left the board of the start-up in 2017 before the company launched a for-profit arm and sued in March. The lawsuit targeted OpenAI’s partnership with Microsoft.
Under its founding agreement, OpenAI agreed to make its code open to the public instead of walling it off for private company’s gains, the lawsuit said. But by embracing a close relationship with Microsoft, OpenAI...

Scarlett Johansson has been busy moving on from the billion-dollar MCU franchise and has already signed up for two other equally grand and famous franchises, Transformers, and Jurassic World. Slated to helm the upcoming Jurassic World movie, an apparent reboot of the long-running dinosaur saga, the actress has some big boots to fill.
Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff in MCU | Marvel Studios
Previously helmed by her Marvel co-star Chris Pratt, the last outing of Pratt in the dinosaur world was not as well-received. Yet, one thing stood out the most, the primary villain of Jurassic World: Dominion who was, as per fans, fashioned on Apple CEO Tim Cook. And the upcoming flick starring Johansson will face a tough challenge topping the same.

“Exactly”
That’s what Elon Musk replied today to a post on X that cast doubt on the integrity of OpenAI after its recent voiceover squabble with Scarlett Johansson. If that had been it, this would have been just another instance of the impulsive billionaire firing off again on the social media platform he’s owned since October 2022.
But with Apple announcing Monday its dive into AI and a partnership with the once again Sam Altman-led organization that Musk co-founded (and in 2018 unsurprisingly fell out with), it was much more than that – at least for now.
In a series of posts, Musk declared that if the Tim Cook-run tech giant links arms with OpenAI, then all their products will be “banned” from X, Tesla, SpaceX, the Boring Company and any other company Musk owns. Dramatically, he added that it would be “an unacceptable security violation” if “Apple integrates OpenAI at the Os level.

Every so often, a pitch for a television show that never got off the ground leaks onto the internet. More often than not, it’s an original idea; other times, it’s a pitch to revive an older intellectual property. Well, this has just happened when a pitch bible for a reboot of the classic Disney One Saturday Morning cartoon Recess was discovered.
For those who may not remember, Recess was a series created by Paul Germain and Joe Ansolabehere in 1997 for Disney’s One Saturday Morning block. The show followed a group of six friends, all fourth graders, enjoying that special time of day: Recess. The show not only gave us fun adventures with the gang but also commentary on society and social norms through the eyes of a child.
The series ran from 1997 to 2001 and had 65 episodes. It concluded with the theatrical film Recess: School’s Out in 2001 and a handful of direct-to-video specials.

There are endless challenges to getting an indie feature-length animated film made: Lack of money, not enough time, fruitless rewrites, a vision that can’t get across the finish line. When asked what the biggest challenge was while making their upcoming comedy “Mars,” co-writers and voice actors Sam Brown and Zach Cregger can’t help but riff an answer to a question that inelegantly ignores the elephant in the room.
“Well, Trevor died,” Brown says.
“Trevor died, that was a toughie,” Cregger says. “I guess it was getting it funded — that was bigger than Trevor dying. No, no, no, no, no. Also, Covid was annoying. So let’s go Covid, funding, Trevor dying.”
Trevor is Trevor Moore, the de facto leader of Whitest Kids U’Know, the five-person sketch group — consisting of Moore, Brown, Cregger, Timmy Williams and Darren Trumeter — behind “Mars.” The group, which began as a club at...

The Oscar winner joins the starry ensemble of the Apple TV+ media series that is led by executive producers Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, along with season three stars Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Greta Lee, Jon Hamm and Nicole Beharie.
The Morning Show explores the cutthroat world of morning news and the lives of the people who help America wake up in the morning, and ended on another big cliffhanger with its third season.
Cotillard’s role sounds like another force to be reckoned with for the returning news team at the show’s fictional Uba Network. She will play the character of Celine Dumont, who is described as a savvy operator from a storied European family.

Horror versions of fairy tales, such as Snow White: A Tale of Terror with Sigourney Weaver and Sam Neil, for example, have been around for quite a while. And now the current trend of turning kid’s stories and nursery rhymes into horror films has carried over to them. It makes sense, they’re filled with witches, ghosts and in their original versions tended to be pretty grim and bloody moments such as Cinderella’s stepsisters cutting off their toes to try and get their foot in the glass slipper. And that brings us to Cinderella’s Revenge.
It certainly opens on an appropriately nasty note as Katherine frames her husband for the theft of the king’s jewels and has him killed for the bounty.

For this conversation, Kristen Wiig and Jon Hamm reunited only two weeks after appearing together on “Saturday Night Live” — Wiig, a regular on the show from 2005 to 2012, joined the Five-Timers Club as the host, and Hamm, her co-star in “Bridesmaids,” appeared as a special guest. The pair had plenty to celebrate: This past season, Wiig starred as a would-be socialite trying to claw her way into the in crowd on Apple TV+’s “Palm Royale.” Hamm also played a gleefully ambitious character for Apple, as an Elon Musk-type billionaire attempting to become a media mogul on the third season of “The Morning Show.” But an even bigger turn came with Noah Hawley’s “Fargo” from FX, where his devious Sheriff Roy Tillman runs roughshod over all those in his way — after making a very memorable entrance.

“Ezra,” the story of a stand-up comic embarking on a road trip with his autistic son, is the kind of movie that Hollywood doesn’t make much anymore. It’s not based on a toy or a comic book; instead it’s a warm-hearted, deeply human story without much in the way of special effects. But the movie, which opened last weekend in the height of summer popcorn season, is exactly what Closer Media, the new film and television company that backed the production, was founded to champion.
“We want to tell stories from all over the world that are meaningful and that can bring people closer together,” says Zhang Xin, noting that Closer’s mission statement is right there in its name. “When a project comes to us, we ask does it move our heart and does it open our eyes?”

Salman Rushdie will be the center of a new documentary from Alex Gibney, the Oscar-winning director behind “Taxi to the Dark Side” snd “Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief.” Tentatively titled “Knife,” the docu is inspired by Rushdie’s memoir “Knife: Meditations After an Attempted Murder,” which was published in April.
The book is an account of the author’s life and career, and also depicts the 2022 assassination attempt against the Indian-born, British-American novelist and the long recovery that followed. Rushdie was stabbed 15 times in in Chautauqua, N.Y. by a 24-year old New Jersey man with a knife. Rushdie’s neck, eye, and chest were targeted, causing the writer to collapse on stage during a talk he was giving at Chautauqua’s amphitheater stage.
Rushdie, 76, lost vision in one eye and was left incapacitated in one hand after the attempted murder.

Vivek Ramaswamy, the tech entrepreneur and podcast host, called for the website BuzzFeed to cut staff and hire controversial commentators like former Fox News host Tucker Carlson and Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
BuzzFeed, which raised hundreds of millions of dollars from investors in the early 2010s after it saw great success with viral stories across social networks, is under serious pressure as traffic platforms like Facebook and X decline.
The group’s shares tanked after it went public on the stock market in 2021.
Since BuzzFeed went public through a Spac, shares in the company decreased 92%, trading at $3 in recent days.
It laid off hundreds of staff, shuttered its award-winning news division in 2023 and sold off Complex Networks.
Even though the company has been struggling, it still operates The Huffington Post, Tasty, First We Feast and other prominent internet brands.
Ramaswamy now owns 8.3% of BuzzFeed after he revealed his investment last week.

Film distributor Uncork’d Entertainment has acquired the documentary “The Mandela Effect Phenomenon” from writer-director Robert Kiviat. Uncork’d plans a July 9 digital release.
The Mandela Effect refers to the psychological phenomenon of a group of people misremembering well-documented facts or events. Some take this a step further and assume their confusion stems from the truths of other realities entering their own. The phrase “Mandela Effect” was coined by paranormal researcher Fiona Broome, who in 2009, thought former President of South Africa Nelson Mandela had died in prison when he had been released in 1990.
“The Mandela Effect Phenomenon” zeros in on those who believe the sensation stems from supernatural intervention. According to the official logline, the documentary claims “something mind-blowing is happening where half the world’s population swear reality’s been altered, like they come from another timeline. Millions claim movies are different, and TV show titles, celebrities’ names, logos and brands,...

Generative artificial intelligence is coming for streaming, with the release of a platform dedicated to AI content that allows users to create episodes with a prompt of just a couple of words.

Under the initial release, users will be able to watch AI-generated series and create their own content — complete with the ability to control dialogue, characters and shot types, among other controls.
The endeavor marks the tech industry’s further encroachment onto Hollywood as it eyes the exploitation of AI tools embroiled in controversy over their potential to streamline production and the possibility they were created using copyrighted materials from creators they could eventually displace. The old guard in media and finance and the tech innovators disrupting them are gearing up to hit Allen & Co.’s leadership retreat Sun Valley – where private jets sit bumper-to-bumper and power is carved up and handed out among global players. It’s an ultra-secretive event for the one-percent set (think Davos with higher fences).
But Variety can exclusively report that the guest list for the Idaho gathering includes National Amusements president Shari Redstone — in the thick of a deal to sell Paramount Global and with it her family’s media empire to Skydance — as well as OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Hollywood super-producer Jason Blum. They join veterans like Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Bob Iger, Amazon’s Andy Jassy and Jeff Bezos, Warner Bros. Discovery’s David Zaslav, Apple’s Tim Cook and Netflix co-ceo’s Ted Sarandos and Greg Peters.

Well, it’s the entertainment industry where interactions often become an instant viral sensation. For example, last year, we witnessed a moment of miscommunication that actually sent ripples through social media. Amber Heard’s friend, supermodel Cara Delevingne, found herself amidst a storm of controversy for what many saw as a rude reply to Formula One legend Martin Brundle during a pre-race grid walk.
Cara Delevingne in Paper Towns | 20th Century Fox
However, could it be that Delevingne was unfairly judged? Brundle, known for his candid grid interviews, approached the London-born model for a “quick chat”. Although she politely excused herself, citing her inability to “hear anything”, the internet backlash was swift and severe.
But was this really a snub, or simply a misunderstanding amplified by the roar of the Grand Prix atmosphere?

Shannon Sharpe arrives promptly at noon at the South Beverly Grill, a short drive from his home in Holmby Hills. He is 6-foot-2 and 230 pounds, a wall of muscle sheathed in black athleisure wear. He slides into his favorite booth, orders a cranberry ginger ale and offers a hello — friendly but guarded — to an awaiting journalist.
It’s usually Sharpe asking the questions — whether on his blockbuster podcasts Club Shay Shay (3.17 million YouTube subscribers) and Nightcap (1.26 million subscribers) or on ESPN’s First Take, where through the NFL season he spars good-naturedly with host Stephen A. Smith.
Sharpe, who turns 56 on June 26, shot to fame as a tight end for the Denver Broncos. He’s an NFL Hall of Famer and three-time Super Bowl champ. But his other calling, it turns out, is talking — about sports, yes, but about many other things, too, from social issues to politics to celebrity gossip.

Recently, Gina Carano gained fame for playing Cara Dune in the first two seasons of ‘The Mandalorian.’ The studio had big plans for her character, even considering a standalone show.
However, everything shifted when Carano made controversial social media posts, including comparing anti-vaxers to Jews and discussing other sensitive topics that clashed with Disney’s image.
In her interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Gina Carano shared her Disney ordeal and how it all began. Disney and Lucasfilm grew worried as controversies surrounded Carano, especially due to her social media posts.
The situation escalated when Carano faced criticism for not sharing her pronouns online in support of the trans rights movement. In response, she added “boop/bop/beep” to her Twitter bio, clarifying it was not meant to mock but to express her frustration, drawing a comparison to R2-D2’s sounds.

Gina Carano is in recent times most notably known as Cara Dune, a pretty big character in the two first seasons of ‘The Mandalorian.’ The studio had seemingly big plans both for the actress and for her character, as she was at one point supposed to receive her own standalone show.
But, everything changed due to a series of controversial social media posts in which Carano compared anti-vaxers to Jews, and after she touched upon other sensitive topics that aren’t quite in tune with modern sensibilities and the image that Disney is trying to maintain.
In her interview with the Hollywood Reporter Gina Carano recounted her struggle with Disney and how everything started. Disney and Lucasfilm became increasingly concerned as controversies surrounded Gina Carano, particularly regarding her social media posts.
However, the tipping point came when Carano faced backlash for refusing to disclose her pronouns online in support of the trans rights movement.

Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence startup has raised a huge Series B funding round.
The company, xAI, says that it has secured $6 billion in a new round of funding that values it at $24 billion. Investors in the round include Fidelity, Valor Equity Partners, Vy Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Sequoia Capital, Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal and Kingdom Holding, and others.
A $6 billion funding round is an astonishingly large number for a company launched less than a year ago, and underscores the desire for investors to secure a piece of AI businesses. It is also a bet on Musk, who continues to serve as CEO or a top executive at companies including Tesla, SpaceX, X (formerly Twitter) The Boring Company and Neuralink.

Nicole Shanahan, the running mate of the independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., announced that she had donated an additional $8 million to his presidential campaign.
Shanahan’s name started being mentioned as a potential running mate after she donated $4 million to the Kennedy-aligned super Pac earlier in 2024 to fund a Super Bowl commercial.
She officially joined the campaign in late March, with the independent presidential candidate announcing her hometown of Oakland, California.
The running mate then stayed off the campaign trail for some time, only appearing at public events with Kennedy again starting last week.
The $8 million donation brings up her total to the campaign to $10 million, not including the $4 million donation to the super Pac.
Shanahan received over $1 billion from her divorce from Google founder Sergey Brin, who reportedly left her after she slept with Elon Musk.

An annual survey of more than 1,500 respondents has revealed the moneymaking strategies creators are relying on in 2024. More than half of the surveyed individuals are worried that a TikTok ban could affect their financial prospects, and those fears have led to an overall revenue shift from TikTok to YouTube.
These insights come from the 2024 Future of the Creator Economy Report, a data set provided by Epidemic Sound. The leading source for fully-licensed background music initially queried 1,500 creators for its report, but it went back and talked to “a different sample of 1,000 content creators who are currently monetizing their content” after the possibility of a U.S. TikTok ban came into view.
Among the surveyed creators, Epidemic Sound recorded a noticeable trend: Creator dollars are leaving TikTok. In last year’s Future of the Creator Economy Report, 30% of respondents said that the ByteDance-owned app was their top platform for income generation.

Despite that, he enjoyed it. He’d always been into musical theater, and spent the 13 years before Covid onstage.

Vivek Ramaswamy, the entrepreneur who ran an unsuccessful campaign for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, has acquired a significant stake in the digital media company, with an SEC filing indicating that he intends to pursue an activist approach.
Ramaswamy dropped out of the GOP presidential race after the Iowa Caucus, and endorsed former President Donald Trump.
According to an SEC filing, Ramaswamy owns shares and call options worth just under $4 million, and equivalent to about 7.7% of BuzzFeed shares.

No longer content with just owning the original General Lee car from the Dukes of Hazzard, Kid Rock mocked up a Tesla Cybertruck to look like the famous orange 1969 Dodge Charger.
The musician used it to make a grand entrance at his Rock N Rodeo show outside Dallas on Saturday night, singing “Cowboy” from the bed of the Elon Musk pickup while Dukes of Hazzard star John Schneider drove the car. It was a spectacle very much in-line with Kid Rock and Schneider’s whole stick-it-to-the-libs vibe, down to the...

Nothing goes unnoticed by the trained eye, and Elon Musk has been practicing it more since he took control of X/Twitter. When Fallout 4 was being booed over its latest update, he saw something that the community failed to see. However, what he noticed may not be a pearl of great price.
In-game bugs have been bugging players for a long time, and Bethesda is trying to give them quality updates. But that doesn’t seem to work the charm on the community, so the fans are turning their heads toward the mods provided by Nexus to improve their game experience.
Fallout 4 Appears to Have Attracted a Different Kind of Attention Fallout is among the favorite games of the Tesla CEO.
Bethesda might not be good at appeasing all the fans, but the company did that with the X-boss, Elon Musk. Musk himself is a gamer and has confirmed in some interviews that Fallout,...

Kanye West and Elon West were two unlikely celebrities who became friends and supported each other during the 2010s. Musk was especially vocal about West being an inspiration and one of the most influential people of their time. The two continued showing up for each other, but it all crumbled in 2022.
Elon Musk in the Netflix documentary Return to Space
Musk infamously banned West from X for posting anti-semitic tweets and violating the company’s policy. A fan recently brought together the two personalities for a surprisingly well-edited video where the two opened up about their life and their fascination with spaceships and rockets. The level of precision and flow of the dialogues of the fan-made interview is just mind-blowing.

Elon Musk has completed the rebrand of Twitter, the dynamic social media platform he acquired in 2022, as the URL, or site name, officially changes to X.com. “All core systems are now on X.com,” he said in a post today. Twitter.com links now redirecting to the X.com.

A message at the bottom of login and home pages reads: “We are letting you know that we are changing our URL, but your privacy and data protection settings remain the same.”
The reaction to this latest step in a billionaire’s takeover and renaming of a wildly popular app with a beloved name that fit like a glove was not great. A Tweet has now become the onerous ‘a post on X (formerly Twitter)’. Wired compared today’s...

Elon Musk has taken another major step in his effort to, as they say, “make fetch happen,” officially changing the URL for Twitter.com to X.com. Not to worry, though, you can still type Twitter.com into your browser, like a normal person, and that’ll still take you to the same hell site overflowing with “pussy in bio” bots.
Musk announced the move on Twitter (a.k.a. X), tweeting out “All core systems are now on http://X.com.” The post was accompanied by a graphic that...
