Keith Wilder, the lead singer of the '70s funk band Heatwave, has died. Wilder's had several massive hits, including "Always and Forever," "Boogie Nights" and "The Groove Line." Wilder had been suffering from serious health problems recently and died in his sleep Sunday, according to his cousin and bandmate, Billy Jones. "Always and Forever" was the group's biggest hit ... as it went platinum. "Boogie Nights" broke the top 10. Keith summed up his band simply...

For better or worse, Adam Brody will always be remembered as Seth Cohen from The O.C. The affable and awkward teen is easy to find inside the weathered and wiser 37-year-old Brody, but the San Diego native might never be able to shake his early-aughts pop culture iconography. Despite that infamous role, Brody has had a pretty consistent career over the last two decades, playing opposite Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in Mr. & Mrs. Smith, being directed by famed playwright Neil Labute and making guest appearances on beloved TV shows like House of Lies and The League. This month, he’s in the buddy comedy Big Bear, where he gets to sport a pretty mean mustache, and returns with the second season of StartUp on Crackle.
With two such diverse roles coming out in the same month and nostalgia for shows like Gilmore Girls and The O.C. at an all-time high, Brody sits down...

How creepy were those neo-Nazis stomping their feet in unison at the end of Major Crimes Season 5 Episode 12?
There's nothing scarier than a cult leader who appears to be able to murder with impunity and who has the total loyalty of his followers, and Jordan Graff certainly fits that bill.
He is smug, arrogant, and filled with hate -- will the Major Crimes Unit be able to bring him to justice?

Having the cops' investigation of Graff and his neo-Nazi organization be intertwined with Sharon's confession to her priest elevated this episode to a higher level.
Unlike the evil Graff, Sharon is grappling with big questions related to her use of deadly force against Dwight Darnell.
And if I can take a life with no feeling at all, I don't know who I am anymore.

The big transfer news surrounding Sunderland has unquestionably been the rabidly-awaited return of Fabio Borini, the former Liverpool man finally signing for Sunderland after garnering immense popularity during his 2013/14 loan spell. But while Borini’s arrival has bolstered the Black Cats’ attack, serious question marks remain over their defensive options.
Sunderland have conceded 10 goals in their four Premier League games so far, and looked extremely lax against League 2 Exeter City in a recent 6-3 League Cup win. Various centre back pairings have been tested, with Younes Kaboul, Sebastian Coates and club captain John O’Shea all culpable for errors. On the flanks, full backs Patrick van Aanholt, Billy Jones and Adam Matthews have looked even less convincing; fans of the Black Cats are already sick of the sight of opposition forwards exploiting huge holes in wide areas, or being given more than enough time to pick out a perfect cross.

A central Florida woman celebrated her 90th birthday by flying a four-seat Cessna. Billy Jones had to sit on a pillow to see out the windshield Tuesday, but she took off with flight instructor Kurt Schneider by her side and landed some 30 minutes later at Flagler County Airport. The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports the flight wasn't out of the ordinary for the 5-foot-tall Jones. For her 80th birthday, she went skydiving. When she turned 85, she flew a glider. Jones has been taking flying lessons with Schneider for months "just for the fun of flying." She has also snorkeled with seals...

For a lot of Sunderland fans, it was probably a surprise to see Santiago Vergini almost pick up the Man Of The Match award for Sunderland in their battling display against Louis Van Gaal’s new Manchester United team on Sunday. Based on some of his performances last season, few could possibly have thought that Vergini could be such a strong asset on the right hand side of John O’Shea and Wes Brown but he is certainly proving his doubters all wrong.
In fact, Vergini, received an impressive 8.5 out of 10 rating in the Daily Mail to eclipse Lee Cattermole and it is fair to see why some sections of support and media gave this rating to the Argentinean defender. His performance in front of the Sky cameras was simply sublime and if Billy Jones had any fears of not being able to force his way into the right back position,...

Pepe Mel makes his debut in the West Bromwich Albion dugout knowing Everton have won on three of their last seven Premier League trips to The Hawthorns.
The Baggies took three points from their last home game against the Toffees in September 2012. Shane Long, who has been sold to Hull City this winter, and Gareth McAuley were on target in that victory.
When the sides met in the reverse fixture last August neither side could score. Nikica Jelavic led the line for Everton that day, but like Long has left his former employers for the Tigers.
Life goes on for both clubs and talented youngsters spearhead their respective attacks in Saido Berahino and Romeluk Lukaku – who faces the club he spent last season on loan with. Leighton Baines may be the man for Roberto Martinez...

Can Southampton do the double over West Brom in revenge of last season’s meetings?
The big news in the build-up to this match has been the appointment of Pepe Mel as head coach of West Brom after weeks of negotiation between the two parties – speculation suggests that initially Mel did not want to work with the current backroom staff at the Midlands club.
And it has not taken long for the comparisons to begin between Mel and Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Both managers are renowned for playing attacking, high-intensity football and both have had similar track records in Spain, helping their respective punch above their weight, before poor runs saw them lose their job respectively.
The Baggies will be hoping to that appoint of Mel can have a similar effect to that of Pochettino,...

Neutrals were treated to an absorbing draw between two of the Premier League’s bottom six at Upton Park. West Bromwich Albion came away from East London with a point thanks to bright prospect Saido Berahino.
A topsy-turvy game at West Ham saw Sam Allardyce’s side lead 1-0 through Joe Cole only to go in behind at half time thanks to a Nicolas Anelka brace. Three goals in four manic second half minutes first saw the Hammers reclaim the lead through sub Modibo Maiga and Kevin Nolan. Baggies striker Berahino then ensured honours finished even.
Major talking points from this great game of football also included the Hammers playing 80 minutes without a recognized centre back. James Tomkins limped off with a groin injury. West Brom’s second goal came from a controversially-awarded corner and Berahino rattled the goal-frame late on with a stunning free kick.

Premier League strugglers West Ham United and West Bromwich Albion played on an enthralling rollercoaster 3-3 draw at Upton Park that left neutrals satisified, but neither side any better off.
Joe Cole opened the scoring for the hosts inside five minutes before a late first half brace from Nicolas Anelka put the Baggies ahead. Modibo Maiga and Hammers captain Kevin Nolan struck in quick succession to complete the turnaround after the break.
Saido Berahino rescued a point for West Brom, however, and it could have been more but for the goal frame. His late free kick rattled the woodwork, so both sides shared the spoils.
West Ham survived an early scare when Chris Brunt fired into the side-netting for Albion, and then went ahead in the fourth minute. Joe Cole profited from Diego Lugano’s defensive error after Carlton Cole won an aerial ball. Passes were exchanged...

Newcastle United recorded their fourth straight Premier League and moved fifth in the table with a 2-1 home win over West Bromwich Albion.
Baggies captain Chris Brunt cancelled out Yoan Gouffran’s opener before Moussa Sissoko scored the pick of the goals to win it for the hosts at St James’ Park.
The Magpies saw their stunning form continue here, following up recent wins over top flight heavyweights Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea. Albion meanwhile saw an unbeaten run of three matches come to an end.
Alan Pardew welcomed Toon right fullback Mathieu Debuchy back from a ban in the only change to the side that started the victory over Norwich. Baggies boss Steve Clarke meanwhile made three alterations after seeing a two goal lead slip against West Midlands rivals Aston Villa on Monday.
Billy Jones and Liam Ridgewell returned on the flanks of defence, so Steven Reid and Goran Popov made way.

Newcastle United moved up to fifth in the Premier League table on Saturday thanks to a stunning strike from Moussa Sissoko against West Brom after the former Toulouse man struck a spectacular drive from distance in the 57th minute to hand Alan Pardew’s men their fourth win in a row.
Minutes earlier, Albion’s Chris Brunt had equalised after Yoan Gouffran’s fifth goal of the season, but Sissoko’s stunner was worthy of winning any match.
In a lively opening, the visitors tested Tim Krul in the Magpies’ goal as early as the third minute, with Brunt’s free-kick forcing a smart diving save from the Dutchman.
After Yohan Cabaye had dragged a shot wide on the quarter-hour mark, Baggies utility man Billy Jones came to his side’s rescue, clearing the ball from under the nose of Loic Remy inside the six-yard box.

Venue: The Hawthorns Kick-Off: 3pm
West Brom have had an impressive start to the season under new manager Steve Clarke, and their opponents this week will not be looking forward to their visit to the Hawthorns as they currently prop up the rest of the table.
It appears that so many signings in a short amount of time may have had a detrimental affect on Mark Hughe’s squad, and after his promise to the fans of not being involved in a relegation dog-fight this time around, he will be hoping that those words do not come back to haunt him. It does not look pretty for Qpr at the minute, with the team having conceded the second most goals (13) behind Southampton (18) so far this term, and added with the weight of history against them – Hughes has never won a match at the Baggies as a manager – the omens do not look good.

Team news ahead of Sunday afternoon’s Premier League encounter at Old Trafford as Manchester United and West Brom lock horns. Kick-off time is at 2pm and the match is not being screened live anywhere in the UK.
After being rested for the surprise Thursday night Europa League defeat from Athletic Bilbao, veteran Paul Scholes is expected to play some part today and is contention for a starting eleven place.
That game midweek also led to defender Chris Smalling re-opening the nasty head wound he sustained on England duty against Holland. Sir Alex Ferguson is taking the head injury as extremely serious and if there are any doubts about Smalling’s condition he simply won’t play.
Better news for the Red Devils comes with midfielder Tom Cleverley being welcomed back into the fold as he has recovered from an ankle injury. Michael Owen however is still a little way away from recovery.

In a fixture that could put some real clearing distance between both teams and the relegation zone, Swansea City make the trip to the midlands to face West Brom at the Hawthorns.
If you look at the home and away form of these two teams it makes for what seems to be an even encounter. West Brom hold the third worst home form in the league whilst Swansea hold the title of worst form on the road.
The last time these two teams met it signalled not only Swansea’s first Premier League victory but also their first Premier League goals after they broke a 4 game goal drought at the start of the season. Brendan Rodgers’ boys secured the win with a 3-0 scoreline so Roy Hodgson will no doubt be looking for some revenge in the reverse fixture.

Stoke are having a wonderful season. The first Premier League match of 2012 takes place at the early time of 12.30pm today between West Brom and Everton at The Hawthorns and both respective managers Roy Hodgson and David Moyes will be hoping their teams have no obvious New Year hangovers as they both could reach the top half of the table with a win today.
West Brom ended 2011 with a storm, beating Newcastle 3-2 in a very impressive performance at St. James’s Park and also won at Blackburn the game before and picked up a point against Manchester City at home. The Baggies defence became only the second side to keep out the City strikers Balottelli, Silva, Aguero and company all season. Though they know their home form could improve with only 7 goals scored at home and too few times they have sent their fans into raptures with strikes.

Steve Kean is a man under pressure, huge pressure. Rovers sit 19th in the league table on 10 points and somehow threw away a 1-0 lead at the Stadium of Light last weekend which dented their survival hopes even more. Even though Blackburn have suffered a torrid start to the season and the supporters – well some of them – are on the side’s back, the players seem to remain behind their coach and there seems to be a real team spirit running through the squad, which is always important when you are in a bid to survive. Rovers did it last season, just about, through winning at Molineux 3-2. But it doesn’t look to good for them this term as we approach the Christmas period. Nigerian striker Yakubu is the only real player keeping the team alive at the moment, with nine goals in ten games, the forward is on great form.

West Brom head into this Black Country derby clash on Sunday with just one win under their belt and that came against Norwich a few weeks ago. Roy Hodgson’s men have drew their last two matches and have only picked up five points so far this campaign. A dissapointing start for the Albion although they did face Man Utd and Chelsea in their opening fixtures. The Baggies have Wolvbes this Sunday and then another local derby in Aston Villa as they take McLeish’s men at Villa Park in just a fortnight’s time. The side finished 11th last season and many Albion fans are hoping for another season finished off in a comfortable mid-table position.

He also attended a formal dinner at the dining hall of Trinity College at Oxford. Oxford students were pleased to see Big B in their campus and he happily posed with them for pictures. "I am still reeling under the effect of the Oxford visit and have not been able come away from the keen interest that most British teaching institutions, have shown and continue to do so in the present, towards tradition," said the superstar on his blog.
