Production continues on DC Studios' Superman, and just days after sharing that widely discussed first look at David Corenswet's Man of Steel, director James Gunn has now shared a new behind-the-scenes photo.
This one highlights comic book luminaries invited to set by the filmmaker and executive, including current Superman writers Jason Aaron and Joshua Williamson, along with legends like Dan Jurgens and Jerry Ordway.
Justice League International's Kevin Maguire was also on hand, as was Mister Terrific's co-creator John Ostrander and DC Comics heavyweights Jim Lee and Scott Snyder. You'll also spot All-Star Superman artist Frank Quitely (that comic has seemingly been a key source of inspiration for the DC Studios co-ceo).
"Great day with some comic book titans visiting the [Superman] set," Gunn said on Instagram. "So many of my heroes all at once it was really overwhelming."

One of the best and most devastating moments in "Star Wars" is Order 66 in "Revenge of the Sith." To close out the Clone Wars, the clone troopers that have fought beside the Jedi turn and shoot their commanders in the back, on orders from Chancellor Palpatine/Darth Sidious.
The most memorable death is Jedi Aayla Secura on the jungle planet Felucia, shot in the back by Clone Commander Bly and his brothers-in-arms. In one draft of the script (but not the finished film), Aayla is scouting for enemy droids and asking Bly for his input before he shoots, emphasizing her being taken by surprise. The Felucia scene would also feature Bly and the clones fragging Jedi Barriss Offee, but this was deleted, so the "Clone Wars" and "Tales of the Jedi" cartoons took that character in another direction.
That wasn't the only change to the scene. You see, in "Revenge of the Sith,...

The 2008 cartoon series "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" is now a heralded piece of the "Star Wars" legacy, filling in plenty of gaps in the "Star Wars" prequel film trilogy. It also finally told the story of the eponymous conflict — which was first namedropped all the way back in the original 1977 "Star Wars." "The Clone Wars" was a story that had been speculated on for more than 40 years. What if I told you, though, that the story had already been recounted by 2008?
In between the theatrical releases of "Attack of the Clones" (in 2002) and "Revenge of the Sith" (in 2005), Lucasfilm launched "The Clone Wars Multimedia Project." This was a collection of tie-in media telling the story between the films of a galaxy at war.
The essentials of the project include:

Dawn Of The Jedi Takes Its Name From A Star Wars Comic, And It's The Perfect Inspiration For A Movie
"Star Wars" is entering a new era: one with movies that are more than origin stories for known characters, or trilogies centered on a single family and Emperor Palpatine. Instead of another trilogy, it seems we are getting three brand new, independent stories, all set in a different era, each with the potential to grow as rich in stories and lore as the Skywalker saga.
Of the three movies -- which include one directed by Dave Filoni and set between the original and sequel trilogies, and one about Rey rebuilding the Jedi Order 15 years after "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" -- arguably the most exciting announcement is the project that's furthest removed from the current tangle of storylines. A movie that will explore a new, yet much older era for the galaxy far, far away: the Dawn of the Jedi.
This project will be helmed by James Mangold, making...

You may have seen the piece in Variety that America’s leading fanboy with a late night talk show Stephen Colbert is joining the team that is adapting Roger Zelazny’s “The Chronicles of Amber” for television as an executive producer of the potential series under his Spartina production banner, joining with Skybound Entertainment and Vincent Newman Entertainment. “The Chronicles of Amber” follows the story of Corwin, a prince who awakens on Earth with no memory who soon discovers that he is a member of a royal family that has the ability to travel through different dimensions of reality and rules over the one true world, Amber.
The Variety article also notes: “The search is currently on for a writer to tackle the adaptation.” The story of Amber is complex and requires a writer who can navigate different worlds, characters, and timelines.
Stephen, bubullah, we have just the guy for you: John Ostrander.

James Gunn sparked fans' excitement recently when he shared an illustration from the landmark DC comic "Kingdom Come" on Twitter. The 1996 miniseries, from Alex Ross and Mark Waid, remains not only the most beloved comic of DC's Elseworlds imprint but is also considered to be one of the company's best stories in general. Gunn posted a picture of Superman and co. gathered around a table with just two words: "Making plans." While some thought this could mean a "Kingdom Come" film is on the way — which would be amazing — it might also simply be alluding to the fact that Gunn and Peter Safran are making a lot of big plans for the future in their new positions as heads of brand new Warner Bros. Discovery film division, DC Studios.
We know about DC's immediate movie plans, but the future of this universe has seemed somewhat up in the air as of late.

This Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi article contains spoilers.
Obi-Wan Kenobi not only brings back two of the most important characters from the Original Trilogy, it’s also an embarrassment of riches for Prequel Trilogy fans who have longed to see the franchise pay tribute to the Star Wars galaxy of the early 2000s. At last, we have Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen sharing the screen once again, this time trading lightsaber blows on opposite sides of the battlefield. In episode 3, the Jedi Master and Sith Lord finally come face to face after 10 years, and the reunion is anything but heartwarming. Unless you count Vader literally lighting his old master on fire…
But McGregor and Christensen aren’t the only two major Prequel blasts from the pasts featured in the series. Last week, for example, the show featured a Temuera Morrison cameo, putting the Jango and Boba Fett actor in clone...

The Peacemaker finale had at least two more scenes that we’ve added to the long list of “I can’t believe they filmed that” shots this show pulled off. It also made a huge change in the status quo for the Dceu’s clandestine services.
After Peacemaker, Vigilante, and the gang successfully blew up the cow Without resorting to using the Scabies Helmet, Adebayo held a press conference to set the record straight. She counteracted the butterflies’ accusations against Peacemaker, and in the process exposed her mother, Amanda Waller, and the entire Task Force X operation to the entire world.
If you’re thinking “that probably won’t end well for the team,” you’re right! There’s some comics history to the Suicide Squad being outed, and none of it’s good.

Nazis. I Hate These Guys.
In the comics, Christopher Smith was born in Austria to an American mother, Elizabeth Lewis, and a respectable German expat businessman father, Wolfgang Schmidt. Except he wasn’t respectable at all. He was Nazi garbage, the former head of a Polish concentration camp who fled when Germany’s loss became clear. This Young Justice: Phantoms review contains spoilers.
Young Justice Season 4 Episode 7
Getting off of Mars was the best thing to happen to Young Justice: Phantoms, and even though it returns there this week, the parallel structure of the episode combined with the show taking on a Huge story from the comics and making some pretty significant improvements to it, even if it doesn’t quite land in the end.
Plot-wise, not a ton happens this week. Miss Martian, her sister, and J’onn head back to Earth after M’gann cracks her brother’s skull a little and finds out he didn’t know the gene bomb was laced with kryptonite. And Tigress, Scandal, and Onyx (backed by Oracle) crash Santa Prisca to get Orphan out, ending up betrayed by Scandal, saved by Cheshire, and surrounded by the League. But it’s not really the plot that’s a big deal this week.

Please don’t be a cheap cash-in, please don’t be a cheap cash in. These were my first thoughts when I saw this book announced. Suicide Squad books and merch aplenty I expected, with the critics loving the James Gunn movie, but a glut of books with no merit doesn’t do anyone any good. Having two such high profile creative guys on the book, in the form of Azzarello and Maleev was promising, and having such a wildcard villain as The Joker also looked good. Significantly less worried now, in fact this now looked most definitely kinda’ fun. I’ve been a fan of The Suicide Squad going back to the John Ostrander reboot in the late Eighties, and I have the entire 66 issue run of that, plus the Annual and Special. This week I will be taking an indepth look at two items I will soon be listing for sale. Both listings play into the topic of speculation, but in very different ways. I will look at what makes these comics desirable from a comics point of view and any movie tie-ins. Then I will break down the grade I have given each comic and the debate potential listing prices.
First up is Suicide Squad #2 from 1987. I brought this off eBay way back in February. Originally I was looking at an #1 for £5, which eventually went for £15. It would have still been a tidy profit come the new movies release. I picked up #2 for just 92p plus £2.93 P+P. So the challenge of making a profit off of a second issue proved to good to turn down. So what are this issues key selling points?
Comics Info: Writer: John Ostrander | Pencils: Luke McDonnell| Inks: Karl Kesel.

A new trailer for DC and Warner Bros.’ “The Suicide Squad” has been unleashed. Directed by James Gunn, the film is a standalone sequel to David Ayer’s 2016 DC Extended Universe entry “Suicide Squad.” Check out the new footage below.
“The Suicide Squad,” like all of Warner Bros.’ 2021 titles, will debut day and date in whatever theaters are open later this summer and on HBO Max for 31 days. The release date is currently set for August 6, 2021. It’s a strategy that’s been paying off for Warner Bros. (mostly), thanks to films like “Godzilla vs. Kong,” which has topped $100 million in the U.S. even after playing on the Warner streaming platform.
Director James Gunn has long billed his version of “The Suicide Squad” as a gritty, 1970s war movie with comedic sensibilities. He also wrote the movie based on the comic book characters created by John Ostrander.

A couple of days. That’s how long director James Gunn had to wait before Warner Bros. and DC came calling in 2018. Up until that moment, it’d been a pretty turbulent July. The iconoclastic filmmaker who made audiences cry over a talking tree in Guardians of the Galaxy was just fired by Disney—temporarily as it turns out—and his name was being besmirched on social media. Yet less than 72 hours after that dismissal, WB was making him an offer that could change the face of DC superhero movies forever.
“It happened immediately,” Gunn says with a hint of lingering chagrin. “We started talking about what the project would be. The first thing that was brought up was Superman, but I didn’t know if I wanted to do that.”
So the studio suggested a once-in-a-lifetime alternative: make whatever you want. Gunn was free to adapt “anybody out of the DC catalogue.

Hey, we just got a new trailer for The Suicide Squad, which will be in theaters and streaming on HBOMax August 6th! Let’s see if you can spot the Big Easter egg. Go watch it, then come back here…
All done? Fun, huh? But what Easter egg am I talking about? It’s this:
In the trailer, we see Savant, played by Michael Rooker, getting a bomb implanted in him so that Amanda Waller can keep him in line– do anything she doesn’t like, and Boom!
But who’s doing the implanting? Dr. Fitzgibbon, that kindly old gent on the right who looks like he wouldn’t harm a fly?
Why, that’s John Ostrander, ComicMix columnist and creator of the Suicide Squad and Amanda Waller. He’s quite literally the guy who killed off at least 18 members of the Squad and maimed so many more. So it...

DC Comics released a first look at its March comics, the first batch after the end of the multiverse-spanning Dark Nights: Death Metal and the pause-everything company wide reset Future State, and from our first glimpse of the solicitations, the big changes coming in Future State look like they might be sticking around.
With the sheer volume of change that DC underwent in the last year – new distributors, new release days, personnel changes, cancellations and FanDomes included – there was a lot of speculation about the future of the comics line. This first batch of solicitations provide an interesting answer to that speculation. It looks like, post-Future State, DC’s changing everything. By keeping some things the same.

“Peacemaker,” the HBO Max “Suicide Squad” spinoff series, continues to grow.
The show has added four new faces to its cast, namely Chukwudi Iwuji (“When They See Us”) as a series regular, and Lochlyn Munro (“Riverdale”), Annie Chang (“Shades of Blue”) and Christopher Heyerdahl (“Togo”) as recurring guest stars.
They join previously announced cast members John Cena (playing the titular role), Danielle Brooks, Steve Agee, Robert Patrick, Jennifer Holland, and Chris Conrad in the series which is a spinoff from James Gunn’s forthcoming “The Suicide Squad” pic.
Few details about the exact roles these new additions will play are being made available, other than their names. Iwuji is playing a character named Clemson Murn, Munro is playing Larry Fitzgibbon, Chang is joining as Detective Sophie Song, and Heyerdahl will play Captain Locke.
Munro’s character Fitzgibbon is described as a wry and kind character who is Detective Song’s partner and friend.

The Mandalorian brings a fan-favorite Jedi from Star Wars animation to live action in “The Jedi,” which takes us to the wasteland planet of Corvus, where an Imperial warlord rules with an iron fist. Along the way, we learn more about Baby Yoda’s origin as well as where the show might be headed. We also get some pretty neat callbacks to the classic films of Japanese auteur Akira Kurosawa.
Here are all of the easter eggs and Star Wars references we’ve found in “The Jedi” so far:
Ahsoka Tano
– Fan-favorite Jedi hero Ahsoka Tano finally makes her live action debut in “The Jedi.” She’s played by Rosario Dawson here. As if she simply leapt out of the animated series and onto The Mandalorian, Ahsoka looks almost exactly like she did on Rebels, wearing similar attire and armed with the white lightsabers she used before the Galactic Civil War.

This Star Wars: The Mandalorian article contains spoilers.
The Mandalorian Chapter 13, “The Jedi,” gives us answers to many of the biggest questions surrounding Baby Yoda, the former Jedi youngling whose actual name is Grogu, while also introducing new mysteries about the ancient order. In fact, the episode has just set the stage for what will likely be an explosive conclusion to the second season, as Mando and Grogu set off to find what could be the birthplace of the Jedi.
While Mando manages to locate Ahsoka Tano on the planet Corvus, this proves to be just another stop in a much longer journey. Mando means to leave Grogu in Ahsoka’s care so that the former Jedi can train the child, but when she senses the deep connection between the bounty hunter and his ward, Ahsoka says she can’t take the youngling as a student. She doesn’t leave them completely in the lurch,...

After months of mystery, the lid was finally lifted on The Suicide Squad today at DC FanDome. The virtual event’s panel focused on the upcoming sequel revealed much about what we can expect in the film, and director James Gunn has followed it up now by sharing the first ever Tss poster on social media.
Gunn took to Twitter after the conclusion of The Suicide Squad showcase to reveal the poster, an epic piece of art which features just about every one of this new, bumper-sized version of Task Force X.
“Again, thanks to all of you for checking out #TheSuicideSquad panel today at #DCFanDome,” Gunn wrote in his caption.” If you missed it, don’t worry, there will be encores. But for now here’s a final treat, a special @SuicideSquadWB DC FanDome Fan Poster we’ve been working on! I love it, how about you?”

As revealed during The Suicide Squad FanDome panel, writer-director James Gunn has a lot of new, never-before seen toys to play with in his next superhero movie. At the panel alone, he revealed Idris Elba is portraying Bloodsport and Peter Capaldi is The Thinker, to name but a few. Yet, even so, his favorite character to write is Harley Quinn, as played by Margot Robbie, bar none.
The breakout fan favorite character in 2016’s Suicide Squad, Robbie’s interpretation of the one-time Joker henchwoman turned antihero extraordinaire was so winning that Harley got her spinoff in this year’s Birds of Prey movie. And like just about everyone else who’s gotten the chance to write or portray the character, who was originally created for Batman: The Animated Series by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm, and voiced by Arleen Sorkin, Gunn couldn’t resist the anarchic glee Quinn brings to the written page or screen.

With the news that John Cena is playing Peacemaker in the upcoming James Gunn sequel, The Suicide Squad, it’s worth examining who the character is and how he got to the movie. The easy answer is he jumped backwards out of a balloon to assassinate the president, and in case you can’t tell, I’m really excited to talk about Multiversity again.
Who Is Peacemaker?
He’s The Comedian.
Seriously, Peacemaker was the character Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons based The Comedian on in Watchmen. He was one of the Charlton characters purchased by DC in the ‘80s, introduced to the DC Universe post-Crisis on Infinite Earths. He was originally created in the mid ‘60s in a backup strip with Fightin 5, and never really made that much of an impression. But even though he wouldn’t have the impact that his Watchmen analogue would, he sill managed to...

James Gunn stopped by DC FanDome to talk about The Suicide Squad and he answered the burning question, “who is playing who?” in the forthcoming follow up to the 2016 Warner Bros. movie. Well, here’s the answer to that.
Viola Davis will reprise her role as Amanda Waller while Joel Kinnaman will play Colonel Rick Flag and Michael Rooker will play Savant. Flula Borg will step into the role of Javelin and of course, Margot Robbie will continue to cause trouble as Harley Quinn. David Dastmalchian will see spots as Polka Dot Man and Daniela Melchior will be Ratcatcher 2. Idris Elba will be armed as Bloodsport and Steve Agee will play King Shark. Jim Corrigan showed up on The Flash chapter of Crisis on Infinite Earths, which means the Spectre is coming to the Arrowverse.
This article contains spoilers for the first three episodes of Crisis on Infinite Earths.
In an Arrowverse crossover full of surprises and shocks, Crisis on Infinite Earths' biggest curveball before the winter break might have been what they did to Oliver Queen.
Crisis promised big changes for the Green Arrow right from the outset. He had already cut a deal with the Monitor during the Elseworlds crossover last year, to save Supergirl and the Flash. The presumption was, knowing that the Crisis was coming, that he would be sacrificing himself for Barry, who famously died in the pages of the original comics version of the story. And then they went and killed Ollie in the first hour of Crisis on Infinite Earths.

Whether you liked their writing style or not, most people expected Benioff and Weiss' latest collaboration to be the start of a whole new trilogy of Star Wars movies, which would have kicked off in 2022. Supernatural vet Stephen Lobo joins the Crisis as potentially one of its pivotal characters: the Spectre.
Big casting news out of the Crisis team, as it was announced today that Stephen Lobo of Supernatural fame would be joining the enormous CW DC crossover, Crisis on Infinite Earths. His character is a very interesting choice.
According to IGN, Lobo will be playing Jim Corrigan. Corrigan was introduced in 1942, in the aptly named More Fun Comics, where he was murdered on his way to his own engagement party, stuffed in a barrel of concrete, and tossed in a river. He was sent back to Earth to exact vengance on his murderers and...wait a second is he just Spawn?
Corrigan later became a conduit for John Ostrander, one of the co-creators of the modern incarnation of the Suicide Squad and one of the most underrated comic writers of the last 30 years,...

Whenever a new superhero movie begins production, the comic book readers among us can’t help wondering which tales influenced the filmmakers. More often than not, writers and directors merely pull inspiration from various stories rather than strictly adapting one specific work. And based on the information recently brought to life, The Suicide Squad will be no different.
If you’ve already seen 2016’s Suicide Squad – and you probably have – then you should be aware of how David Ayer factored several different runs into his goulash of sorts. Though the John Ostrander era was there to thank, it became obvious how much Ayer looked to the New 52. After all, his inclusion of Harley Quinn and Diablo owed thanks to those books, not to mention nods to the Kicked in the Teeth arc.
James Gunn, however, may be even more eclectic in this sense. In a recent Instagram discussion, which you can view below,...

Today at Comic-Con, Joe and Anthony Russo announced projects that their AGBO Studios are in development on: an adaptation of the 1978 Japanese anime series Battle of the Planets and an Amazon series based on the graphic novel Grimjack Comics.
Battle of the Planets was originally created by Tatsuo Yoshida and Tatsunoko Studios and was arguably the first mainstream glimpse for U.S. audiences into Japanese anime during the late 1970s. In addition, it was one of the few sci-fi cartoons during that era. Event Leviathan #1, the first chapter of the new DC crossover, kicks off by destroying the entire clandestine DC community.
One of the greatest Suicide Squad stories of all time is "The Janus Directive." The crossover ran in 1989 between Suicide Squad, Checkmate, Manhunter, Firestorm, and Captain Atom. Over the course of 12 chapters, it pulled in most of the clandestine superhero services in the DC universe for Amanda Waller's incredibly intricate mole hunt. In the process, the Squad, Checkmate, Peacemaker, Firestorm, Captain Atom, the Cbi (the in-universe analogue for the CIA), and Force of July all get into it with each other until Waller reveals that she's been manipulating them all to stop Kobra from taking over the world.
I bring this up because from what I've seen in Action Comics and in this preview of Event Leviathan #1, I think it might also be Brian Michael Bendis' favorite Suicide Squad story.

One of the big changes we knew that James Gunn was making in his upcoming Suicide Squad sequel – er, sorry, “total reboot” – was replacing Will Smith with Idris Elba as Deadshot. However, this was proven wrong when it was announced Warner Bros. had ultimately decided to switch Elba’s character for a new one. But which DC supervillain is Elba going to portray in The Suicide Squad?
Well, Gunn has always liked to tease his fans with what’s to come in his movies on social media. He’s not really active on Twitter anymore, but his Instagram story is becoming the place to pay attention to instead. Previously, for example, he shared some Harley Quinn fan art, which fans took to be a hint that Margot Robbie will reprise her role in the movie. Now, he’s posted a cover of a classic SS comic from the John Ostrander run in the 1980s.

Writer and director James Gunn took to Instagram to confirm his inspiration for his upcoming DC film The Suicide Squad. He posted an image on his Instagram Stories of a cover of one of John Ostrander’s Suicide Squad comics confirming that his upcoming film will draw from this acclaimed ‘80s comic book run.
Deadshot and Rick Flagg have central roles in the comic series, and it had a rotating cast of supporting characters. One of those characters is Bronze Tiger, a prominent Suicide Squad member during Ostrander's run. Bronze Tiger could very well be the new character that Elba is playing in the film, since he is no longer playing Deadshot.
It makes sense that Gunn would be influenced by a comic run from the ‘80s. Guardians of the Galaxy also had a heavy ‘80s influence. There is no specific storyline that Gunn will adapting. Like Guardians, he will...

So far, Young Justice: Outsiders has wasted no time reminding us of how good the show is in every way. The writing is top shelf, the animation is excellent, and every episode, a different voice actor gives us an exceptional performance. In the first episode, it was Khary Payton. Last episode, Zehra Fazal (Halo) shone. And in "Away Mission," Jason Spisak returns as something completely different.
When we talked to the folks behind Young Justice: Outsiders about this season, they made a point of bringing up that Spisak was giving one of their favorite performances of the show, and it's not hard to figure out why this episode. He was the voice of Wally West for the first two seasons. He was in...

Young Justice season 3 is dark, political, and most importantly...back! Here's our review of the first episode of Young Justice: Outsiders.
This Young Justice review contains spoilers.
Young Justice Season 3 Episode 1
Young Justice is a fascinating show.
In preparation for the return of this critically acclaimed show with a very vocal fanbase, I went back and rewatched the old seasons of Young Justice on the app. I...can't really believe it ever got made.
Not because it's not good, mind you. This show is everything people talk about when they go on about "truly all-ages cartoons." It has been since episode one, and while it's grown with its audience, even through this first batch of Young Justice: Outsiders episodes, it's still targeting a pretty broad age range. But the impressive thing about it, and something I didn't even really realize until just now, is that its storytelling...

Writing a comic script is an extremely regimented process. You’re often working within an extremely tight format that leaves little room for error.
John Ostrander explained it for us a while back:
First number: the number of pages. Right now, your monthly comic book is 22 pages long. Let’s say you’ve been asked to do a fill-in story or a complete in one story for a given book. There are certain space limitations you need to take into account.
How many panels are in a page? Well, your first page is usually the splash page which means one big panel. This page also usually has the title of the story and the credits box for the creators. Here’s some rules of thumb for the other pages: when there’s a lot of action, you use fewer panels per page. If it’s a talk scene, you can have more.

As I noted last week, Unshaven Comics’ trek to Hotlanta for the annual Dragon Con had me face down several fears all at once. As Unshaven Matt Wright was sidelined due to a babysitting emergency, the biggest fear for me was knowing that our terrific trio was reduced to a dingy duo. Beyond that, there was the continual fear that our little shtick will finally reach the point that it doesn’t garner the excitement we count on to close sales. Add that ennui to the more concrete fear that a ten-hour trip in the car while completing the Whole 30 diet – one that forced me to give up everything but lean protein, fruits and vegetables – would make what is normally a doable drive become something more akin to the trek undertaken by a ragtag fellowship of adventurers trying to ditch a silly ring.

Presenting two real-life stories from my days of yore, although names have been changed to protect both the innocent and the guilty.
Story The First:
I knew a girl in high school – I wouldn’t say we were friends, but she was someone who had never participated in the Piggy horrors. Sally was an A+ student, on the track to an Ivy League school. Pretty (but not gorgeous) and popular (but quiet about it), she came to me one day and said that she needed to talk to me privately. I was surprised… and a bit suspicious. What did she want? But because Sally had never been overtly mean to me, even though she was part of the clique that instigated most of the callous cruelties upon me, and because I still hoped to be “accepted,” and I wanted to believe for some reason she was about to warn me...

A Colorado couple faces murder charges in the February death of their six-week old son, People confirms.
Married couple John Ostrander, 21, and 23-year-old Donica Mirabal were arrested Monday on first-degree murder and child abuse charges in the death of their son Zayden.
The couple has not been charged yet. They will remain in jail without bail until their first court appearance on September 14.
A medical examiner determined that the baby allegedly died as a result of “prolonged, intentional neglect/lack of care on the part of the caretakers,” according to an arrest affidavit obtained by People.
The arrests came after a six-month investigation,...

I don’t carry a sign over my head announcing my feminism—I do it with a tote bag from Emily’s List, which I use to, uh, tote my lunch and papers and such back and forth from work. Said bag is inscribed with the following:
feminism noun fem-i-nism ‘fe-ma-,ni-zam
The belief that men and women should have equal rights and opportunities
—Merriam-Webster
I’ve always thought of “equal rights and opportunities” in terms of work and salary, but I suppose it can also be applied to the prerogative of making a total ass of yourself in public, regardless of gender.
I am referring to the “Whedon vs. Cole” controversy that my buddy John Ostrander talked about yesterday, and which has caused mucho uproar all over the web, including over at the Whedonverse fan site, which is supposedly shutting down over it, although I had no trouble opening...
