Ohio State Murders, the Broadway debut of 91-year-old playwright Adrienne Kennedy starring Tony Award winner Audra McDonald, is ending its Broadway run in January.
Producers said Thursday that Jan. 15 will be the Kenny Leon-directed play’s final performance at the James Earl Jones Theatre. The show was the first to be staged in the newly renamed theater on W. 48th St. The show officially opened Dec. 8 following previews, which began Nov. 11, and was originally scheduled to close Feb. 12.
McDonald portrays writer Suzanne Alexander, who has returned to her alma mater to appear as a guest speaker discussing the violence in her work. But with her arrival, a dark mystery unravels, as Alexander grapples with the racial violence she experienced as an undergraduate in this suspense play that examines the destructiveness of racism in our society.

Update, with new Collaboration closing date: Ohio State Murders, the play starring Audra McDonald that made history by being the first Broadway production of acclaimed 91-year-old playwright Adrienne Kennedy, will play its final performance on Sunday, January 15.
Though generally well-reviewed, Ohio State Murders has struggled at the box office, grossing just 311,893 for nine-performances during Broadway’s generally lucrative New Year’s week. Attendance for the week, which ended Jan. 1, was only 49 of capacity at the recently renamed James Earl Jones Theatre.
Directed by Kenny Leon, Ohio State Murders starred McDonald as a writer and lecturer coming to terms with a horrific incident from her past: the murders of her two infant daughters. The production also featured Bryce Pinkham, Lizan Mitchell, Mister Fitzgerald, and Abigail Stephenson, with understudies Brett Diggs, Brooke Gardner, Christian Pedersen and Gayle Samuels.

The famed Norwegian explorer Roald Amundsen led the first expedition to reach the South Pole, so when you watch “Amundsen: The Greatest Expedition,” you may think you’ve got a good idea of the movie you have in store: an adventure at once exciting and treacherous, set in the frozen wilderness, with a stoic Nordic hero at its center — the kind of man who might have been played a few decades ago by Max von Sydow. “Amundsen” has scattered moments of tense physical drama, set against glacial Arctic vistas of fantastic authenticity. You really feel like you’re there.
The movie opens with two men in a propeller plane conking out in the middle of the icy nowhere. One of them is the aging Roald Amundsen (Pål Sverre Hagen), who reveals a hawkish profile of calm, imperious, almost sneering indomitability; the other is a man who can no longer feel his feet.

Willem Dafoe and Glenn Close are set to join Tommy Wirkola's sci-fi tale "What Happened to Monday?" which is set in a future where overpopulation and famine have forced governments to undertake a drastic One-Child Policy.
Seven identical sisters (played by Noomi Rapace) live a hide-and-seek existence who outwit authorities by taking turns assuming the identity of one person: Karen Settman. Each named after a day of the week, each can go outside of their apartment one day a week using their common identity. Then, one day, Monday does not come home.
Wirkola ("Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters") is directing from a script written by Kerry Williamson and Max Botkin. Marwan Kenzari, Christian Rubeck and Pal Sverre Hagen also star and filming is now underway in Bucharest at the Castel Film Studios.

Allow me to begin by admitting something. I've never heard of Max Manus, and I very rarely watch foreign language films, in fact the last one was 2004’s "Nightwatch" I believe. With that in mind, watching and ultimately reviewing Max Manus: Man Of War was never going to be straightforward.
Starring Aksel Hennie (Max Manus), Nicolai Cleve Broch, Ken Duken, Christian Rubeck and Agnes Kittelsen the film is directed by Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg and is the most successful Norwegian film in 20 years. But will that success translate here in the UK?
For those of you who are unfamiliar with this story, much as I was, allow me to provide a brief synopsis to the film:
Max Manus is the true story of the resistance fighter of the same name, who in spite of being one of the most wanted men by the Gestapo in Norway, participated in...
