Scotland’s annual Glasgow Film Festival is giving a new fear flick its world premiere today (appropriate enough, as it’s Friday the 13th). Entitled The Dungeon Moor Killings, the movie marks the feature debut of Jim Hickey, who got in touch to speak about his first endeavor behind the camera.
“The story of The Dungeon Moor Killings [written by Ross Crombie and Hickey’s son Jonathan; the two also produced] centers on two young men and their search for the legendary big cats of Dumfries and Galloway,” the director tells Fango, referring to two scenic areas in the south of Scotland. “They are joined by two girls and the leader of a local commune, who acts at their guide. In true horror-movie fashion, they are undeterred by stories of a missing girl and a mysterious scientist in a remote farmhouse. Of course, their adventure soon becomes a nightmare.”
