This CinemaScope musical remake of 1939’s The Women is highly watchable, especially in this flawless digital remaster. The actresses that bare their claws, compete for husbands and just plain cat-fight are a choice batch, with favorites from the ’50s the ’40s the ’30s — plus a few wildflowers that bloomed cinematically for only a few years (Dolores Gray) and one that somehow managed immortality (Joan Collins). It’s highly watchable despite, or maybe because of, its criminally outdated recipe for marital bliss. Did women really go for this fantasy — did anybody ever really live like this?

This is one for the C-movie connoisseurs among you.
For those of you who don’t know (you won’t), there’s a new sci-fi spoof on the way called Unbelievable!!!!! It stars Snoop Dogg, 42 former Star Trek actors, Michael Madsen, and a ficus on a skateboard. That ought to answer all of your questions.
In the can for what appears to have been an eternity (some of the footage dates back as far as 2013), the film does at last have a release date. I say at last, but I’m not sure it was at the top of anyone’s list of movie treasure troves. Anyway, if you’re feeling particularly trashy (there’s no shame in that), sit down for Unbelievable!!!!! in an online premiere this August 1st. The premiere will also come with a virtual convention.
Two more items on the agenda to go through. One is the trailer,...

Dozens Of ‘Star Trek’ Actors Converge For Snoop Dogg’s Parody Pic ‘Unbelievable’ – Watch The Trailer
It’s a Trekkie delight. No idea why so many Star Trek actors thought this was a great idea, but they did. Snoop Dogg seems to be the furthest thing away from sci-fi as you can get, but he’s one of the stars Unbelievable, a parody film that uses a puppet for James T. Kirk. Watch the trailer for below.
The original score was written/composed by Emmy-winning, Oscar-nominated Gerald Fried — the last living composer from the original Star Trek series.
Snoop Dogg executive produced the film from writer-director Steven Fawcette that also stars Nichelle Nichols (who also co-produced), Angelique Fawcette (also a producer), Michael Madsen and Robert Davi. Also in the film are Casper Smart, Sam Asghari, Gilbert Gottfried and newcomer Katarina Van Derham.
Here are some of the 40-plus Star Trek actors who also appear: Garrett Wang, Chase Masterson Tim Russ, Armin Shimerman, Vaughn Armstrong, Gary Graham,...

Joan Crawford Movie Star Joan Crawford movies on TCM: Underrated actress, top star in several of her greatest roles If there was ever a professional who was utterly, completely, wholeheartedly dedicated to her work, Joan Crawford was it. Ambitious, driven, talented, smart, obsessive, calculating, she had whatever it took – and more – to reach the top and stay there. Nearly four decades after her death, Crawford, the star to end all stars, remains one of the iconic performers of the 20th century. Deservedly so, once you choose to bypass the Mommie Dearest inanity and focus on her film work. From the get-go, she was a capable actress; look for the hard-to-find silents The Understanding Heart (1927) and The Taxi Dancer (1927), and check her out in the more easily accessible The Unknown (1927) and Our Dancing Daughters (1928). By the early '30s, Joan Crawford had become a first-rate film actress, far more naturalistic than...

Anne Marie here to celebrate a personal favorite. There are two ways to enjoy George Cukor’s sparkling comedy, The Women. The most obvious is to thrill in the delights of the best that a 1930s MGM comedy had to offer: an A-List, all-lady cast including Norma Shearer, Rosalind Russell, Joan Fontaine, Paulette Goddard and Joan Crawford; costumes designed by Adrian (with a Technicolor fashion show bonus), and lavish sets, from department stores to nightclubs to Reno, including a bizarrely beautiful bathtub courtesy of Cedric Gibbons. But strip the elegant frivolity away, and you see the true nature The Women: A claws out, teeth bared, no-holds-barred bitchfest.
The Women is social satire aimed squarely at the myth of love in marriage. Neither Clare Boothe Luce (original playwright) nor Anita Loos (who adapted the screenplay) was shy about uncovering the backbiting of upper class socialites. The fights get more vicious...

Much to my disappointment, Ghost Storm is not a disaster-horror hybrid about a supernatural storm cloud that rains ghostly ectoplasm which steals the souls of everyone it touches. Or is it?
No, actually, it isn’t. But doesn’t that sound like a perfect pitch for a Syfy flick? As does the actual plot of Ghost Storm, and not surprisingly, since it happens to be a Syfy original movie currently in the works.
An action packed chase led by Hal and Ashley to save the people on this small island from a strange electrical storm which is led by angry souls from a mass suicide looking for revenge.
Electrical storm? Angry souls? Mass suicide? I hope the ending involves a meteorological exorcism involving the use of Kool-Aid because that would be… I shouldn’t be giving stuff like that away for free; gotta save it for my raining ectoplasm flick.

Thanks to the guys at WorstPreviews.com, we scooped up the trailer for Anaconda: Trail of Blood, the fourth installment of that snaky series. Directed by Anaconda III director Don E. FauntLeRoy, written by Anaconda III writer David C. Olsen, and starring Anaconda III star Crystal Allen, Anaconda 4 feels more like Anaconda III: Part II than a fourth installment to the franchise kicked off by Jennifer Lopez back in 1997. But we're not really complaining. Olsen's script involves a genetically created Anaconda that has been cut in half but regenerates itself into two giant snakes which means giant snake attacks and bloody madness will ensue. Hit the jump for the trailer and keep an eye out for Anaconda: Trail of Blood attacking DVD...

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment sent over the full package art for the fourth chapter in its horror-adventure series. The Sci Fi Channel has slated Toby Wilkins’ Splinter (pictured) for a broadcast premiere on Saturday, February 14 at 9 p.m. There will be a repeat showing the following night at 7 p.m.
The superior indie monster flick (see our review here) was briefly released theatrically last fall under the Magnet banner by Magnolia Pictures, which initially announced a DVDebut for this month; it’ll now hit disc later this spring. Splinter is just one of several creature features hitting Sci Fi in the next couple of months; also on tap is Anaconda 4: Trail Of Blood, showing on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 9 p.m. and 1 a.m. The fourth in the killer-snake franchise was shot back to back with last year’s Anacondas III, with director Don E. People like Meg Ryan's Mary Haines, who discovers that her husband has been cheating on her with Crystal Allen (Mendes), a "spritzer girl" at Fifth Avenue. While Mendes and Mazar's characters may not have fit into the world of the rest of the cast, they happily say it's different in real life, as they do press tours with the women they may have only had fleeting scenes with onscreen.
