[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for S.W.A.T. Season 7 Episode 8 “Family Man.”] It looks like Deacon (Jay Harrington) has made his mind up about his future with S.W.A.T. after the Luca’s (Kenny Johnson) shooting and subsequent retirement left him questioning things. And while he had been waiting to talk to anyone except for Hicks (Patrick St. Esprit), he and Hondo (Shemar Moore) do have the conversation they probably should have had sooner in the latest episode. It’s all because Deacon’s wife Annie (Bre Blair) spilled to Hondo’s wife Nichelle (Rochelle Aytes) about the plans. Just as Hondo’s lamenting the loss of the “core” group—while looking at a photo from back when Chris was still on the team—Nichelle reveals that it really could be “the end of an era” if Deacon does retire, too. At first, Hondo doesn’t think it’s ...

S.W.A.T. is certainly leaning into the nostalgia as it nears its series finale (May 17). Two of Hondo’s (Shemar Moore) team have left in recent episodes—Alex Russell‘s Street transferred to Long Beach, while Kenny Johnson‘s Luca was forced to retire after he was shot trying to stop a robbery off-the-clock. Now, in TV Insider’s exclusive sneak peek of the April 12 episode, he finds out that someone on his team has been hiding plans to do the same. Hondo’s wife Nichelle (Rochelle Aytes) finds him looking at an old team photo, from back when Chris was still there. “This group was the core for so long,” Hondo says. “It’s hard to get over the change. I mean, Street’s been gone for weeks. I still catch myself looking for his motorcycle in the parking lot. Now Luca’s gone.” That’s when Nichelle points out,...

"Star Trek: The Motion Picture" was the onscreen reunion of the Enterprise crew, premiering in 1979, a decade after "Star Trek" was canceled. What more casual Trekkies may not know is that (most of) the cast had already come together again in that interim (and I don't mean just for "Trek" conventions).
That reunion would be "Star Trek: The Animated Series," which aired for 22 episodes from 1973 to 1974. The series was made in the style of the original, but there were a few changes in the medium shift. Stories were told in a breezy 20+ minutes, not the hour-long packaging the live-action show had used. Since animation doesn't have to worry about makeup expenses, "The Animated Series" featured much more (and much weirder) aliens than "Star Trek" had.

Gray’s Anatomy, The Good Doctor, New Amsterdam, Scrubs, House M.D., ER, and General Hospital are some of the popular shows in the United States in this genre. Skymed is a Canadian medical drama that aired on CBC Television in 2022 and has been renewed for its next season this year. This nine-episode series covers the lives of several nurses and pilots who work for a government air ambulance service in the northern part of Canada, which is covered by dense forest and whose population is scattered. These physicians and medical experts fly men and women who face several kinds of injuries, sicknesses, and ailments. There are several low-maintenance clinics in these wild areas, but most patients are taken to the nearest all-facility hospital in Winnipeg, Canada.

After a week of behind-the-scenes drama, it’s fantastic to know going into this first part of a two-part season six finale that S.W.A.T. isn’t going to end prematurely. CBS announced the series had been canceled, despite the ratings growing year-over-year, and then quickly reversed their decision after fans – and Shemar Moore – made their displeasure known. The network confirmed there will be a shortened season seven. (Read all about it here).

“S.W.A.T” has been renewed for Season 7 at CBS, which will also be the show’s last. The move marks a stunning reversal of the network’s decision to cancel the show just three days ago.
According to sources, talks continued between CBS and series co-producer Sony Pictures Television over the weekend following the cancellation announcement. The show has been a solid performer for CBS in its Friday night timeslot, with the decision ultimately coming down to the show’s financials. In addition to the renewal, series star Shemar Moore will serve as an executive producer on the final season.
“We have listened to our viewers and their outpouring of passion for ‘S.W.A.T.’ and we have reached an agreement to renew it for a final season of 13 episodes to air during the 2023-2024 broadcast year,” said CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach and Sony Pictures Television Studios president Katherine Pope in a joint statement.
