In an industry filled with hundreds of music festivals around the globe, a decade in, there’s still nothing else quite like Form.

During the upcoming June 11 episode of “America’s Got Talent” on NBC, the judges will meet Solange Kardinaly, a quick-change artist who performs her magic act to the song “Material Girl” by Madonna. Midway through the two-minute routine, Solange changes her clothes multiple times without warning, prompting Simon Cowell to declare, “That was magic.” Watch the “America’s Got Talent” sneak peek video above before the episode airs on Tuesday night.
“You’re very, very good,” noted Heidi Klum after the studio audience’s applause finally died down. “And your quick-change was beautiful. I mean, it was really amazing.”
Howie Mandel chimed in, “You did it very uniquely. The mixture of magic and your performance made it so much more special. You’re the best quick-change artist we have ever seen, you really are.”

The religious horror movie Immaculate, starring Sydney Sweeney and directed by Michael Mohan, wears its horror influences on its sleeves. Neon’s new horror movie is now available on Digital and PVOD, making it easier to catch up with the buzzy title. If you’ve already seen Immaculate, this companion watch guide highlights horror movies to pair with it.
Sweeney stars in Immaculate as Cecilia, a woman of devout faith who is offered a fulfilling new role at an illustrious Italian convent. Cecilia’s warm welcome to the picture-perfect Italian countryside gets derailed soon enough when she discovers she’s become pregnant and realizes the convent harbors disturbing secrets.
From Will Bates’ gothic score to the filming locations and even shot compositions, Immaculate owes a lot to its cinematic influences. Mohan pulls from more than just religious horror, though. While Immaculate pays tribute to the classics, the horror movie surprises...

Now that Daily Dead readers have had a chance to check out Immaculate in theaters, I am excited to share my recent interview with director Michael Mohan! We talked in detail about the film last week, from the journey the project took to get to the big screen, to working with Sydney Sweeney, and the ending everyone is talking about:
[Spoiler Warning]
What was the journey this project took to get into production? I understand it took a little bit of time and I'm curious about when you got involved in the process.
So it was the longest process for Andrew [Lobel], the writer. He came up with this about 18 years ago and it almost got made at a studio, where Sydney had auditioned for the part. She had multiple callbacks, but ultimately the film ended up falling apart.
Years passed and Sydney was tracking the project, seeing what was happening with it.

If every artist fulfilled their fanbase’s every wish, they would never see outside of the walls of the recording studio. The possession of a clear and concise creative vision — one that serves the artist first and their audience second — is why Solange was able to captivate listeners with A Seat at the Table in 2016 and leave them in a sonic daze for three years while she created its follow-up, 2019’s When I Get Home. Five years later, the singer and songwriter knows that everyone is anticipating her next album...

With its lush golden beaches trimmed in eye-popping emerald waves, whale-studded waters, rugged mountains and the laid-back urban equivalent of Los Angeles, New South Wales — home to Sydney as well as perhaps the planet’s coolest surf town, Byron Bay — is an attractive proposition. And that’s not even taking into account its culinary and cultural scenes, or its draw as a filming location.

Sydney – Monday 6 November, 2023. The Sydney Opera House today announced two electrifying contemporary music events over summer with genre-raiding psych-rockers Unknown Mortal Orchestra making their Concert Hall debut on January 30, and alternative R&b star Steve Lacy performing two shows in-the-round on 31 January and 1 February 2024.
Unknown Mortal Orchestra’s (Umo) appearance follows the March release of their definitive fifth album, V – an exquisite collection of songs that evokes the 70s rock and 80s pop of frontman Ruban Nielson’s childhood, while exploring love, loss and his Hawaiian heritage. The album makes a strong case for itself as his sun-bleached masterpiece, earning a 4.5 star review from Uncut and a place on The Guardian’s ‘best albums of 2023 so far’ list.
Umo initially achieved runaway success following the covert release of an anonymously penned track, ‘Ffunny Ffriends’, on Band Camp (2011). They’d go on to release five albums over the next 12 years, each...

Celebrated singer-songwriter Sampha picked Steve Lacy’s hit “Bad Habit” for his customary cover during an appearance on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge.
Sampha delivered a pared-back, practically delicate rendition of the song. Instead of the original’s thumping drum beat, Sampha used only a spare, skittering percussion track which provided a steely counterweight to the tender thrum of his piano and vocals.
Along with his rendition of “Bad Habit,” Sampha also performed his own song, “Only,” off of his recent LP, Lahai. The LP, released last week on Oct.

Of course you know that Beyoncé has Solange and Kendall Jenner has Kylie, and you may also be aware that Mark and Donnie Wahlberg are brothers and Ashton Kutcher has a fraternal twin. But did you know that there's a third Franco brother? And a third Delevingne sister?
It probably won't be a surprise that many of the celebrity siblings ahead are all in the entertainment industry, but you also may not know that many of them also happen to be nepo babies, like Kate and Rooney Mara. Meanwhile, some of these siblings have formed veritable dynasties, like Gigi, Bella, and Anwar Hadid, who are all ultra-successful models, or Mary-Kate, Ashley, and Elizabeth Olsen, who have all become icons over the years. On the other hand, you may not have ever heard of many of the siblings on this list, especially those who chose to live their lives outside of the spotlight.

During a series of performance residencies this year titled Satellite Business, Sampha played in a circle of musicians — different voices, synths, drums, and electronics vying gracefully for center stage. The shows required smaller, more intimate venues, like St. John at Hackney Church in London, where he performed three nights in October ahead of the release of his new album, Lahai. “It looked beautiful in there, and aesthetically just felt like the right kind of place to have it,” Sampha says. The British singer-songwriter describes his new album as “thinking a lot about time,...

In Lee, Kate Winslet transforms into Lee Miller, a model turned photographer whose World War II images forced those outside of the conflict to confront the brutality of fascism. The actress injects award-winning cinematographer Ellen Kuras’ glossy and conventional biopic with an energy that ushers an enigmatic figure to the foreground.
The real-life Miller has had a quiet resurgence in the past few decades. In 2005, Australian writer Carolyn Burke penned a biography that meticulously chronicled Miller’s path to becoming a war photographer. Exhibitions in the U.S. and Britain in 2015 displayed her striking photographs of the Blitz and the aftermath of D-Day. Miller approached her war images with a kind of radical subjectivity, choosing to capture moments of deep empathy and pain. Considering the discomfort her photos inspired, one can only imagine how a firsthand experience of combat textured Miller’s interior life.

Beyoncé's "Renaissance" Tour is in full swing, and while she's filled stadiums across Europe and North America with thousands of adoring fans, there have been plenty of celebrity sightings in the crowds. In addition to being joined on stage by her 11-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, Beyoncé's husband, Jay-Z, has been spotted supporting his girls along with mom Tina Knowles and sister Solange Knowles, making the "Renaissance" Tour a real family affair. Rumi and Sir, Beyoncé and Jay-z's 6-year-old twins, have yet to make a formal appearance, but considering they're still pretty young, it makes sense they haven't appeared on stage yet! (Although never say never.)
Beyoncé kicked off the "Renaissance" tour in Stockholm on May 10 and is currently touring around cities in the US through Sept. 27. And her Sept. 4 show - which took place on her 42nd birthday in Inglewood, CA - was her most star-studded affair yet. She...

In an alternate universe, Zendaya would be breaking the Internet with her red carpet fashion as she promoted Luca Guadagnino’s “Challengers,” the movie that was supposed to open the 80th annual Venice Film Festival.
But the SAG-AFTRA strike made it impossible for the tennis movie, starring one of the world’s buzziest movie stars, to come to the Lido.
So instead, Venice kicked off with World War II drama “Comandante” by young Italian auteur Edoardo De Angelis. The movie, mostly set on a submarine, landed a brief 90-second standing ovation as actor Pierfrancesco Favino — who plays naval officer Salvatore Todaro — took a bow.
Indeed, the lack of star power was strongly felt at Venice opening night. The size of the crowds that lined up outside the Sala Grande Theatre was modest, and the biggest cheers went to Damien Chazelle, who is presiding over the Venice jury. Jane Campion,...

Los Angeles, Aug 15 (Ians) Tina Knowles shut down rumours that her daughter Beyonce travels with personal toilet seats while on tour.
“That is so ridiculous,” the mom of two told TMZ, reports pagesix.com.
Tina explained that the leaked backstage picture of a black container labeled “Beyonce Toilet Seats” was merely a part of the singer’s Renaissance World Tour set.
“Those are stands that you put fans on, they’re called toilet seats,” she said.
Tina, 69, added that the idea of her daughter requesting her own custom toilet seat for the bathroom was “too much”.
The rumours about Beyonce’s tour rider started earlier this month when a source told the US Sun that the “Cuff It” hitmaker can get anything she wants.
“Beyonce is such an elite performer she can literally request anything,” the insider claimed.

“Due to lightning in the area, we are currently under a shelter in place order,” the message read. “Fans outside of gates and in the parking lots are asked to return to their cars. Beyoncé’s back-to-back nights at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, this past weekend were two of the most star-studded shows of the Renaissance tour thus far. Greta Gerwig and America Ferrera watched the show from risers, while singer and songwriter Kehlani was close enough to the stage to snap a selfie with Beyoncé. Laverne Cox attended both nights and penned a heartfelt, revelatory caption about how the concert made her feel born again. Also in the audience was Madonna, who received a shoutout from one queen to another.

Growing up in the Bay Area, Diamonté Quiava Valentin Harper, now known to fans as Saweetie, listened to 106.1 Kmel and Wild 949 on her drive to school with her dad every morning. And like clockwork, Turf Talk's "It's a Slumper," her dad's favorite song, could be heard blasting from the 808 speakers in the trunk as they made their way across the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge. At home, the family computer was riddled with viruses, thanks to her LimeWire downloads of Nicki Minaj and Remy Ma's mixtapes. This was Saweetie's first introduction to hip-hop.

Today brought confirmation of our exclusive news that Harmony Korine had directed Travis Scott in a new feature, the 80-minute Aggro Dr1ft. But Scott’s also just announced Circus Maximus, a companion to his album Utopia that will release on Thursday, with AMC listing its runtime as 75 minutes. The real kicker (unless you’re one of those sick runtime fetishists) is its directorial lineup: joining Scott behind the camera are Korine, Gaspar Noé, Nicolas Winding Refn, Valdimar Jóhannsson (Lamb), and music-video maestro Kahlil Joseph.
Being that it’s tied to Scott’s album Utopia, one can infer this takes the visual album approached recently popularized by the likes of Frank Ocean, Beyoncé (Knowles), and Solange (Knowles)––a project doubly suggested by this official synopsis:

The Amazon Prime Video series “The Summer I Turned Pretty” has made a splash with its loaded soundtrack. By now it is safe to say that “The Summer I Turned Pretty” and Taylor Swift go hand in hand because author and show creator Jenny Han has made it so.
The first season had five Swift songs ranging from her “Lover” album to “Fearless (Taylor’s Version),” and the Season 1 trailer debuted “This Love (Taylor’s Version)” from the yet-to-be-released re-recorded “1989.” Season 2’s teaser was set to “August,” and then the official trailer debuted “Back to December (Taylor’s Version)” shortly before “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” was released July 7. Only time will tell if Season 2 ties Season 1 for how many Taylor Swift songs it contains.
The sequel season’s summer-y soundtrack also contains hits from repeat artists Olivia Rodrigo, Tyler the Creator, Caroline Polachek and more. A Fleetwood Mac ballad punctuates a particularly emotional scene,...

Tina Knowles, mother of Beyoncé and Solange, was robbed of seven figures worth of cash and other belongings when her Los Angeles home was burglarized recently, TMZ reports.
A friend of Knowles discovered the break-in while stopping by the house last Wednesday morning. Representatives from the Los Angeles Police Department told TMZ that an entire safe had been stolen — along with over $1 million in cash and jewelry inside of it.
It’s unclear how the alleged burglars entered the home and removed the safe; police are still investigating, although with no obvious leads. In April, TMZ also reported that a man had been taken into custody after he’d been throwing rocks at Knowles’ home.
Meanwhile, Beyoncé’s “Renaissance World Tour” has just finally made its way to North America. Read our recap of her recent Toronto show here, and grab last-minute tickets over at StubHub, where your order is...
