“All My Children” star Alicia Minshew throws spectacular shade toward a woman her character believes is having sex with her husband on Tuesday's episode of USA Network's “Royal Pains.” TheWrap has the first look at Minshew as Olivia, Ray's (Jeremy Davidson) glamorous estranged wife. Producers call her “strong-willed and well-heeled.” Olivia makes no bones about her hostility towards Paige (Brooke D'Orsay), when she suspects that she is having an affair with her husband. Plus, the former ‘All My Children’ star shows HollywoodLife.com how to twerk!
During her tenure as Kendall Hart on ABC’s All My Children, Alicia Minshew was a busy girl. Faking pregnancies, facing murder charges and stealing grooms were all in a day’s work for the on-screen daughter of Susan Lucci‘s Erica Kane. But twerking? That was never one of Alicia’s many on-screen endeavours — until now.
Alicia recently paid a visit to HollywoodLife.com‘s New York office, and yes, we asked her if she knew how to twerk. But in our defense, this interview was conducted right after Miley Cyrus‘ Vma debacle — and, honestly, Alicia didn’t need much convincing.
It’s that kind of bold energy that made Alicia a fan-favorite for more than a decade on daytime, and now she’s directing that energy at a few really exciting projects. Along with 2013′s Desires of the Heart,...

In the 40 years since he made his daytime-tv debut, Vincent Irizzary had seen nothing like it — a non-Emmys red carpet event to kick off an evening celebrating soap operas, namely two that had been plucked from the ashes and given life anew.
Irizzary plays David Hayward, a highly duplicitous doctor on All My Children, which like fellow former ABC serial One Life to Live was reborn this week on Hulu and iTunes, via Prospect Park’s The Online Network. The actor calls the dramas’ return, in a new medium, none too small a miracle.

Veteran actress Susan Lucci fought back tears during a taped TV special on Thursday as she was reunited with castmembers from her cancelled soap opera All My Children during a special tribute.
TV executives announced earlier this year that the beloved show would come to an end this month after 41 years on air as part of a cost-cutting initiative.
Lucci, who portrayed Erica Kane on the series since its launch in 1970, co-hosted Friday's The View, which was dedicated to All My Children, and she took a trip down memory lane as she was joined by former co-stars, including Cameron Mathison, Rebecca Budig and Thorsten Kaye.
But Lucci was already struggling to keep her composure at the start of the programme, which was taped on Thursday, because for 30 years, the soap was filmed in the same New York studio The View now occupies.
Welling up on camera, she said, "First of all thank you so, so much for this special tribute... It's just incredible. Thank you for the celebration of a wonderful show... It's an emotional time; it's a very happy time. So much to be grateful for. But coming back here today was so very touching to me."
The show also brought together one of All My Children's most famous couples, Greg Nelson and Jenny Gardner, played by Lawrence Lau and Kim Delaney. Delaney's character Jenny died in a tragic jet ski accident in a 1980s storyline.
Vincent Irizarry, Alicia Minshew, Darnell Williams and Debbie Morgan also took part in the reunion.
The All My Children series finale aired in the U.S. on Friday.

September is proving to be a big month for Sarah Michelle Gellar.
The star of CW' thriller "Ringer," which premieres Sept.13, is also making good on her promise to return to her soap roots on "All My Children" before the series ends its 41-year ABC run at the end of the month.
TV Guide reports that Gellar's return to her daytime alma mater takes place during the Sept. 21 pre-penultimate episode -- the same one ABC plans to dedicate to late cast member Mary Fickett.
So who will Gellar be playing? After her own urging that she not touch her previous role of Kendall Hart (now played by Alicia Minshew), Gellar will appear as a delusional hospital patient convinced she's Erica Kane's (Susan Lucci) daughter. The 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' actress made her name on the daytime soap playing Kendall, the spoiled daughter of Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) and while Sarah has confirmed she will make a guest appearance before the show comes to an end on TV, she isn't planning to resume her former role which is now played by Alicia Minshew.

Already set to make a TV comeback with "Ringer", Sarah Michelle Gellar will also return to her alma soap opera "All My Children". Announcing the news was the actress herself who said at the TCA on Thursday, August 4, "I can today officially confirm that I will be doing a guest-spot."
"When I heard the show was canceled, I didn't understand. It just doesn't make sense to me," the former "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" beauty went on sharing. "I called [the casting director] and said, 'I want to do something'."
Unlike Josh Duhamel who takes on his long presumed dead character Leo du Pres for his recent return, Gellar said she will not reprise her original role of Kendall Hart, which is now portrayed by Alicia Minshew. She added, "I have no idea what I'm going to be doing... I will be doing one day. I'm excited."
It is still unclear in which episode Gellar will be featured.

In fact, she doesn't exactly know what she'll be doing at all, since Kendall has been played Alicia Minshew for the past several years.
"I can today officially confirm that I will be doing a guest-spot," Gellar said Thursday during the fall TV preview session for her new CW series Ringer. "When I heard the show was canceled, I didn't understand....

Before she became Buffy and became a household name, Sarah Michelle Gellar got her big break playing the scheming Kendall Hart on ABC's long-running soap All My Children. And now that the daytime fave is going off the air, Gellar plans to make one last trip to Pine Valley, joining fellow AMC vet Josh Duhamel in returning to the show that started her career. Gellar's one-day cameo role is still Tba, since there's only room in town for one Kendall (played subsequently by Alicia Minshew)... or is there? [Deadline]...

Before Sarah Michelle Gellar was fighting vampires on a little WB show called Buffy, she was fighting Susan Lucci on ABC's All My Children. It wasn't her first TV gig, but it was probably her biggest break when she was younger. At today's TCA press tour panel for her new CW show, Ringer, Gellar confirmed that she plans to return to All My Children for one day.
The ABC soap will be ending its decades-long run on September 23. There's been rumors that it could move to a cable channel or even continue online. But no definitive plans have been announced at this point. Before it ends, however, several former cast members will be returning. Among them is Josh Duhamel (Leo Du Pres), Eva La Rue (Maria Santos), Thorsten Kaye (Zach Slater), Carol Burnett (Verla Grubbs), Kate Collins (Janet Green), Jennifer Bassey (Marion Chandler), Melissa Claire Egan (Annie Chandler) and Leven Rambin...

Sarah Michelle Gellar is back in a Big way -- not only with a brand new CW show, but with news she'll return to the soap opera where she got her first big break: " All My Children ." That's the biggest news out of the Television Critics Association panels today, where Smg confirmed she'll be back on "AMC" before its September 23 finale -- but there's a twist. While she played Kendall Hart for 1993-1995, Alicia Minshew took over the gig when the character returned to the soap six years later and still plays her now -- meaning when Sarah makes her appearance, it won't be as Kendall. She tells Soap Opera Digest , "I told them I don't want to be Kendall; that's Alicia's [Minshew] role now. She has made that beyond her own. She's amazing. I just wanted to be a part of it. I said I would be a patron in a bar,...

Who says you can't go home again? Sarah Michelle Gellar is heading back to Pine Valley. The 'Ringer' actress confirmed she's returning to her former 'All My Children' stomping grounds before the daytime staple goes off the air.
But when Gellar returns to 'AMC,' it won't be as Kendall.
"I have no idea what I'm doing or who I'm playing. I told them I don't want to be Kendall; that's Alicia's [Minshew] role now," she said Thursday. "I just wanted to be a part of it."
Gellar won a Daytime Emmy for playing Kendall, the daughter of Erica Kane (Susan Lucci). Prior to joining 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer,' Gellar played Kendall for roughly two years. The role has since been taken over by Alicia Minshew.

WWE Wants To Hire More Soap Opera Writers
"There are people in WWE who are very interested in bringing in experienced soap opera writers to join the company’s creative tam. One of the big reasons behind this push is that the soap opera industry is in very bad shape and they can likely sign some talented writers for much less than they could have 2-3 years ago. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE wants to improve its storylines and present compelling personal conflicts. An example of this would be the Vince McMahon – Triple H segment that ended this week’s Raw."
