There’s no Superman in the picture, but some of the core cast of Scrubs recently got together for a little pizza party. It may not be the reunion that fans want, but it’s still pretty cool seeing J.D., Elliot, the Janitor, and more are still close.
In an Instagram post, Chris Miller (Jordan Sullivan) shared the reunion pic along with a caption that read, “Impromptu pizza party with my Scrubs”. Those Scrubs were: series lead Zach Braff (J.D. Dorian), Sarah Chalke (Elliot Reid) and John C. McGinley (Janitor). They were also joined by Amanda Kloots, host of The Talk.

Scrubs run on NBC ended in 2010, but it seems the cast is still tight.
Today, four of the series’ biggest names shared a group photo on social media from a recent mini reunion.
“Impromptu pizza party with my Scrubs,” Christa Miller wrote on Instagram as she shared the image of herself, Zach Braff, John C. McGinley and Sarah Chalke. McGinley wrote in his social media post, “…getting the band back together!”
Also in attendance was actress Amanda Kloots. The Talk host’s late husband Nick Cordero appeared with Braff in Bullets Over Broadway in 2014.

Brett Goldstein is set to make a guest appearance in Shrinking season two, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The Ted Lasso breakout co-created the Apple TV+ show alongside Bill Lawrence and Jason Segel, who also stars in the Emmy-nominated series.
Details about Goldstein’s character are being kept locked away in the therapist’s desk at this time.
Shrinking follows Segel’s Jimmy, a grieving therapist who starts to break the rules of his career by telling his clients exactly what he thinks. “Jimmy has lost his wife and wants to try a new approach to his loss, but it is unclear how this will help others,” the logline reads.
Goldstein has remained behind the camera as one of the show’s co-creators and executive producers. With his upcoming guest role, he’ll return to acting on an Apple TV+ series, following his role in Ted Lasso.

Shrinking co-creator Brett Goldstein (Ted Lasso) is stepping in front of the camera in Season 2.
Sources tell Deadline there had been multiple attempts to have Goldstein appear in the Apple dramedy but things didn’t pan out. When the perfect role came along—which btw is currently top secret—he couldn’t say no. He is billed as a guest star in Season 2, which is currently in production.
Shrinking follows grieving therapist Jimmy (Jason Segel) who starts to break the rules and tell his clients exactly what he thinks. Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge, tumultuous changes to people’s lives … including his own. In addition to Segel, the series stars Harrison Ford, Jessica Williams, Christa Miller, Lukita Maxwell, Michael Urie, Luke Tennie and Ted McGinley.
Segel and Williams recently earned individual Emmy Award acting nominations for their portrayal of therapists in the series.

Get your therapist on the phone: Shrinking is heading back for Season 2.
It's been a painful wait after a cliffhanger finale, and we can't wait to find out what comes next.
Shrinking Season 1 gave us laughter, tears, and a little bit of murder. Will Season 2 resolve the cliffhangers and somehow manage to top a stellar first year?
With all the heart from Bill Lawrence's Ted Lasso mixed with the often dark, always hilarious talent from Brett Goldstein, Shrinking is everything we could ask for in a series.
This upcoming sophomore season is getting closer, so let's get up to speed.
Who is Returning to the Shrinking Season 2 Cast?
We're hoping to see just about everyone from Shrinking Season 1 when the show returns, but so far, only a handful of actors are confirmed to be in the new season.

Harrison Ford surprised SAG-AFTRA members during a nomination committee Q&a this afternoon when he showed up to talk about his role on Apple TV+’s “Shrinking.”
Ford was keen to lavish praise on the cast of the comedy-drama television series, describing working with his co-stars as a uniquely different experience that rejuvenated his perspective on acting.
“There are people who improvise as though it was an exercise in egos. That never happens with this bunch. Work is really important to everybody that’s here,” said Ford.
“This mixture of comedy and pathos and really emotional stuff, it gives you a sense of responsibility for the things you’re communicating and how you’re communicating,” he continued. “I think that that shows up on screen, and it shows up in the work these people do every day and how they do it. I had never done anything like this before...

Zach Braff went to the Coldplay concert in Los Angeles with some friends this weekend… including model Alyssa Miller.
The former Scrubs actor was seen leaving the concert with Alyssa, Cougar Town actress Christa Miller, and The Talk co-host Amanda Kloots on Saturday night (September 30) at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif.
The timing is very coincidental because Zach and Alyssa‘s exes were just spotted together at Paris Fashion Week.
Zach‘s ex-girlfriend Florence Pugh and Alyssa‘s ex-boyfriend Andrew Garfield sat together in the front row at the Valentino fashion show on Sunday.
In case you forgot, Andrew and Florence are actually starring in a new movie together. They were last seen filming back in May – Check out the pics!

Gold Derby can exclusively reveal that Jessica Williams is entering the “Shrinking” episode “Boop” as her 2023 Emmy Award submission for Best Comedy Supporting Actress. The episode aired on March 10 and is the eighth episode of the first season of the Apple TV+ comedy.
In this installment, Gaby (Williams) and Jimmy (Jason Segel) attempt to apologize to his daughter, Alice (Lukita Maxwell), for sleeping together. Later, Gaby brings Liz (Christa Miller) and Sean (Luke Tennie) as emotional support to her ex-husband Nico’s (Adam Foster Ballard) art exhibition. She feels conflicted over Nico until he calls his new girlfriend his muse, ignoring Gaby altogether, prompting Gaby to lash out at him.

Variety’s Awards Circuit Podcast hosts Michael Schneider, Clayton Davis, Emily Longeretta and Jazz Tangcay gathered on Wednesday, just hours after the Television Academy announced this year’s Emmy nominations, to dissect the news — from the big winners like “Succession,” to the shocking omissions (no Harrison Ford or Elizabeth Olsen), and then the nice surprises. The nominations were telling on a number of fronts — including the current assessment that we may very well see a beat “Succession”/”Ted Lasso” dominance.
Did the voting procedural changes help bring in a wider group of nominees? No. And will voters pick straight tickets of “Succession” and “Ted Lasso” nominees? Quite possible. Who will win the “SNL”/”Last Week Tonight with John Oliver” smackdown? What are our favorite faceoffs this year?
From snubs and surprises to big wins and the usual befuddlement, the Roundtable tackles it all in this week’s episode. Listen below!

Jessica Williams just earned her first Emmy nomination for her portrayal of no-nonsense therapist Gaby in Apple TV’s Shrinking, and she spoke to Deadline about the monumental moment in her career while she was getting dressed to hit the picket line at Disney in support of the WGA writers strike.
“What was great about playing Gaby—sorry, I’m getting ready to go picket while talking to you at the same time,” Williams, a former Daily Show senior correspondent, told Deadline on Wednesday.
“What was great about Gaby was knowing how they wanted her to counterbalance Harrison [Ford’s] character [Dr. Paul Rhoades] and Jason [Segal’s] character [Jimmy Laird] while she also has her own life and her own stuff going on,” she continued. “So [to bring her to life], I just worked backward. This Story Contains A Spoiler Or Two About ‘Shrinking.’
There are only so many slots available for Emmy nominees, and when it comes to the comedy series list, the presumption is that it’s already set in stone. Apple TV+’s “Ted Lasso” and ABC’s “Abbott Elementary” are locks at the top, of course, as is FX on Hulu’s “The Bear” in third (even though its first season is less comedy than dramatic intensity). Then, in the Gold Derby combined odds handicap, come Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building” and HBO’s “Barry” – for its final season. And speaking of farewells, we can’t forget Amazon’s “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” (currently running in sixth place) and, in terms of freshman season standouts, Peacock’s “Poker Face” and Netflix’s “Wednesday.” And there are your eight nominees filling the eight allotted Emmy category slots this year.

This story about the casting of “Shrinking” first appeared in the Comedy Series issue of TheWrap’s awards magazine.
Say you’re casting a thoughtful comedy about the world of psychotherapists, and you need a seasoned veteran to support the sharp young cast in a potentially scene-stealing mentor role. And then you land one of the biggest movie stars in the world, an icon who has been in two of the largest movie franchises in the last 50 years.
This was the reality for “Shrinking” casting directors Debby Romano and Brett Benner when the AppleTV+ comedy was being put together. It still seems surreal to them that they landed Harrison Ford for the pivotal supporting role of Paul, a senior member of the practice where Jason Segel and Jessica Williams’ characters work as therapists.

“Clone High,” the animated MTV cult classic about a high school devoted to teenage clones of historical figures from creators Phil Lord and Chris Miller (the “Spider-Verse” franchise) and Bill Lawrence (“Ted Lasso”), returns with new episodes on Max 20 years after the cancellation of its sole season. The core group has thawed to confront a more complicated world of social media and new cultural norms, where “Riverdale” has replaced “Dawson’s Creek” as the coming-of-age template, complete with slightly more adult humor and even sillier situations — and fewer executive notes since the creators now wield greater power.
Back are Abe Lincoln (Will Forte), Cleopatra (Mitra Jouhari replacing Christa Miller), JFK (Chris Miller), and Joan of Arc (Nicole Sullivan). They are joined by new clone classmates Harriet Tubman (Ayo Edebiri), Frida Kahlo (Vicci Martinez), Confucius (Kelvin Yu), Topher Bus (Neil Casey as a canceled Christopher Columbus), and Sacagawea (Jana Schmieding). After 20 years, “Clone High” has returned with a second season after the teen animated series about a high school for clones of famous historical figures was revived by Max.
Created by Bill Lawrence, Chris Miller and Phil Lord, the show picks up two decades later after Abe (Will Forte), Cleo (Mitra Jouhari taking over for Christa Miller), JFK (Chris Miller) and Joan (Nichole Sullivan), among others, were frozen in the season 1 finale before the show was canceled over controversy related to one of its central characters, a young version of Gandhi (originally voiced by Michael McDonald).
While the series sees the main foursome returning after being thawed out in a very special season 2 premiere, Gandhi is not among them. In fact, the character is no longer part of the series, with “Clone High” revealing that he is still frozen.
Although he doesn’t physically return, there are several nods to...

What memories does the year 2003 stir up? The first Pirates of the Caribbean film? Ugg Boots? Freedom Fries? When the only Fast and Furious franchise sequel was 2 Fast and 2 Furious? It was a time when two fresh faced geeks, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller didn’t have The Lego Movie or Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse under their belt. In fact, they practically had no experience in Hollywood, let alone some of the most revered animated work of their era.
To cut their teeth in business, the soon-to-be dynamic duo partnered with producer Bill Lawrence (who was the force behind Spin City and Scrubs at the time and had Ted Lasso on his future docket) to create 13 episodes of a little known animated show that premiered on Teletoon in Canada and eventually MTV in the U.S. That show was Clone High,...

There’s a funny little irony to the very existence of Max’s Clone High. Originally created for MTV in the early aughts, the animated comedy centers around a bunch of teenagers who are genetic copies of notable historical figures, reborn for a new era. Now the series itself has been resurrected with much the same DNA (creators Phil Lord, Chris Miller and Bill Lawrence all return, as do most of the voice cast), but in a whole new environment. But just as characters like Abe Lincoln (Will Forte), Joan of Arc (Nicole Sullivan) and JFK (Miller) adjust to their new normal, so too does Clone High, serving up a new season that feels every bit as silly and sharp as the show did the first time around.
Clone High couldn’t have known it at the time, but its first-season finale offered the perfect setup for a revival. In the 2003 episode,...

On May 23, 2023, the streaming service Max will debut a reboot of "Clone High," the Canadian animated series created by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Bill Lawrence that initially ran in 2002 and 2003.
For those unfamiliar with the series, it had something of an odd premise. A shadowy governmental organization called the Secrey Board of Shadowy Figures has found a way to clone notable leaders from throughout human history. Hundreds of them were cloned about 16 years ago, and the teenage versions of the historical figures are now all attending the same all-American high school. The series lead was Abraham Lincoln (Will Forte), who would encounter the usual trials of adolescence. Abe would have an on-again-off-again relationship with Cleopatra (Christa Miller), and was best friends with Joan of Arc (Nicole Sullivan) and Gandhi (Michael McDonald). Abe's primary rival was the womanizing JFK (Chris Miller). Other attendees of Clone High included Martin Luther King, Jr.,...

Here is a wrap-up of all the news you need to know from Monday, May 8, 2023.
As the fate of the bulk of The CW's scripted series remains Tba, the network has picked up another Canadian import.
Son of a Critch is set to air on the network this summer.
The series is a coming-of-age story based on the childhood and adolescence of Canadian comedian Mark Critch.
At the beginning of the series, 11-year-old Mark is growing up in 1980s Newfoundland, where he navigates starting junior high school, making friends, and connecting with the small collection of people in his limited world.
“When I was a young kid watching American TV in the ‘80s, I never dreamed that one day my own story would be beamed back over the border,” said Mark Critch.
“Having enjoyed so many CW shows with my own family, I’m excited to invite our American friends over to ‘my house.

Jessica Williams found her footing on “Shrinking” long before the Apple TV+ comedy’s penultimate episode. But there’s a moment of sheer joy and improvisation in Episode 9, “Moving Forward,” that Williams says is her favorite of the entire first season. After her character, Gaby, walks in on a post-coital moment Paul (Harrison Ford) shares with his doctor Julie (Wendie Malick), Gaby’s response is one of shock, admiration, and childlike wonder.
“All of that I feel like is one of the things I’m most proud of this season,” Williams tells Gold Derby in an exclusive video interview. “I love the way it was edited and directed, and they caught so many good moments. And I even like when Gaby leaves the scene, and Harrison’s just rolling his eyes at me. There’s just so much there that I really love. I’m so happy that just gets...

Jason Segel, Jessica Williams and Christa Miller of Apple TV+’s Shrinking discussed Harrison Ford’s contributions on and off camera, during the Contenders TV panel with co-creator Brett Goldstein.
Williams sang “Every Morning” by Sugar Ray with Ford onscreen and said the veteran actor said had the final, and only, say about which song they sang together.
“I sent 10 songs and most of them were like, ‘no,’” Williams said. “It was mostly no, and it was the one that Harrison could stomach probably. That was the one he came back with. I cannot listen to that song without thinking of him anymore.”

For the first time this awards season, Jason Segel (“Shrinking”) has cracked into the Top 6 of Gold Derby’s Emmy odds for Best Comedy Actor. That means our Experts, Editors and Users collectively think he’ll receive a nomination alongside reigning two-time Emmy defender Jason Sudeikis (“Ted Lasso”), winter awards season champ Jeremy Allen White (“The Bear”), former two-time Emmy winner Bill Hader (“Barry”), plus both Steve Martin and Martin Short from “Only Murders in the Building.”
Segel plays Jimmy Laird on the Apple TV Plus hit, a recently widowed therapist who tries to connect with his patients through slightly controversial means. He lives at home with his estranged teenage daughter Alice (Lukita Maxwell), who is often looked after by their friendly neighbor Liz (Christa Miller). At work, Jimmy’s boss is Paul Rhoades (Harrison Ford), an aging man who struggles with Parkinson’s disease.

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Shrinking Season 1.] Shrinking is all about navigating the complicated interpersonal dynamics of a grieving family, both biological and chosen. Starring Jason Segel as Jimmy Laird, a widowed therapist who tries out some borderline unethical new therapy techniques with his patients, the Apple TV+ comedy is the latest feel-good show from Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein, two of the creators of Ted Lasso. Segel wrote the series alongside his fellow co-creators, and they brought together TV’s most unexpected, but one of its most delightful, new ensembles of the year. With Harrison Ford as the begrudgingly emotive therapy mentor Paul, Jessica Williams as co-worker and old friend (and eventually something more) Gaby, and Christa Miller as the rock-tumbling nosey neighbor Liz, there’s no shortage of laughs. Also part of this ensemble is Michael Urie as Brian, the best friend Jimmy ghosted after his wife’s sudden death. Brian’s determination...

Clone High was easily one of my favourite animated shows, but the series was cancelled in 2003 after just thirteen episodes. Now, twenty years later, the clones are back! HBO Max has released the first teaser trailer for the upcoming Clone High revival, which features the return of Abe, Joan, Cleo, JFK, and a few new faces.
The original Clone High series was created by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Bill Lawrence, all of whom have returned for the revival. Dubbed a “modern refresh” of the original series, Clone High is “set at a high school for clones of historical figures. After a high school that was secretly being run as an elaborate military experiment to clone the greatest minds in history was put on ice, the clones have been thawed out 20 years later to resume the experiment with new clone classmates – all while navigating a new set of cultural norms and overly dramatic teen relationships.

Phil Lord and Chris Miller, directors of hits like "21 Jump Street" as well as the producers of "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse," are at the top of the food chain in Hollywood these days -- but it wasn't always that way. Earlier on in their careers, when they were green, they made a little animated show called "Clone High" for MTV that, despite gaining critical acclaim and a loving audience, lasted just one season. Now though, the show is coming back on HBO Max, and we've got a brand new teaser trailer for the revival of this cult classic.
Lord and Miller have put their powers to use to bring back their beloved series, with original voice actors Will Forte and Nicole Sullivan returning as well. Lord is also back as Scudworth, Miller as JFK and Mr. B, Christa Miller as Candide Sampson, Donald Faison as George Washington Carver, and Judah Miller as Scangrade.

Though an honest and unflinching story about grief, season 1 of Apple TV+ comedy Shrinking was also cheerful ray of sunshine.
That’s in keeping with the M.O. of its creators Jason Segel, Bill Lawrence, and Brett Goldstein. Shrinking is an important entrant into the increasingly packed space of “Good Vibes” television.
That’s why it’s particularly surprising that the very last scene of the Shrinking season 1 finale features a moment that could darken the tone considerably of the already-announced season 2. Allow us to explain.

Though an honest and unflinching story about grief, season 1 of Apple TV+ comedy Shrinking was also cheerful ray of sunshine.
That’s in keeping with the M.O. of its creators Jason Segel, Bill Lawrence, and Brett Goldstein. [This story contains spoilers for the finale of Apple’s Shrinking, “Closure.”]
For Shrinking viewers who want more of Liz and Derek, look no further than Christa Miller.
The actress plays Liz in the Apple grief comedy, the helicopter neighbor with a big heart to Jason Segel’s grieving therapist Jimmy. She’s also the series’ music supervisor — yes, she orchestrated Harrison Ford’s memorable rendition of “Every Morning” — and she’s married to Shrinking co-creator Bill Lawrence, a relationship that has hilariously (see interview below) seeped into the show’s onscreen twosome of Liz and Derek, played by Ted McGinley.
“There’s a scene where my [retiring] husband tells me, ‘Look, I’ve been working my ass off, and you’re going to have to find a way to do something out of the house.’ And the writers make fun of my husband because they say to him, ‘Would you ever say that to Christa?’ And he would say,...

Last year, the cast of “Scrubs” reunited for a panel at the Atx Television Festival in Austin, Texas, where they revealed they were all onboard for a reunion movie.
There’s been no news about that project since, but series creator Bill Lawrence is confirming that it’s only a matter of time before it actually happens.
“In the greatest way, the cast of that show and the writers are so good that they’re all working. And the main reason to do something like that isn’t the work, it’s because we actually love hanging out,” Lawrence told Variety during a recent interview promoting his Apple TV+ series “Shrinking”.

Long before Phil Lord and Christopher Miller became household names with "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" and Bill Lawrence took the sitcom world by storm with "Ted Lasso," the trio was responsible for a controversial animated comedy that lasted just one season. "Clone High" was a wild idea; a high-concept animated MTV sitcom about a high school full of clones of famous people that also served as a parody of teen shows at the time, it ultimately went off the air after its depiction of a clone of Gandhi inspired a hunger strike in India, according to Grantland.
Despite its short shelf life and bumpy history, "Clone High" achieved a bit of a cult status after it ended, and now, it's set to return with a stellar new cast and a few fan favorites. A first look at the upgraded version of the series debuted at WonderCon, where stars Nicole Sullivan...

Nine months ago, the “Scrubs” cast and creator reunited for a panel and shared their plans for a future project together — likely a movie. While it hasn’t actually begun just yet, it’s only a matter of time, according to creator Bill Lawrence.
“In the greatest way, the cast of that show and the writers are so good that they’re all working. And the main reason to do something like that isn’t the work, it’s because we actually love hanging out,” Lawrence told Variety in a recent interview while promoting Apple TV+’s “Shrinking.”
That’s the reason they continuously get together — whether it’s for Atx TV Festival or for dinner and drinks. In a way, it’s a tradition he’s made with the casts and crew of many of his shows, including “Cougar Town,” “Spin City” and “Ted Lasso.”
