- His WCW production theme had been previously used by The Zodiac (Ed Leslie's Dungeon of Doom gimmick) and was later used by Rey Mysterio, meaning both the largest wrestler in WCW and one of the smallest used the same music.
- The video game Saturday Night Slam Masters (1993) included a character based on him named Titanic Tim.
- He was over a foot taller than his wife Rita, and they held the record for the greatest height difference between a married couple.
- Jackie Fullerton once interviewed him on Good Evening Ulster (1978). Fullerton asked him the inevitable question about whether wrestling is predetermined/choreographed. Haystacks offered to walk him through one of his regular moves, a piledriver. He lifted Fullerton up seven feet and dropped him on the padded mat. Fullerton was left groaning in agony, and Haystacks said that he should be following with the belly flop to be sure. Haystacks' point, that even prearranged and choreographed moves can still hurt, was made.
- Died on Sunday, November 29th, 1998 after a long, two year battle with cancer.
