Well, well, well. We certainly didn’t have “Adam Levine returns to ‘The Voice'” on our Bingo card. Did you?
Levine, one-fourth of the original “Voice” U.S. coaching panel, is set to return to his big red chair … but there’s a catch. He won’t appear in Season 26, due out in Fall 2024. Instead, he will return in Season 27, scheduled for Spring 2025.
See Carson Daly (‘The Voice’ host and producer) on longevity, Emmys and succeeding ‘in a post-Blake Shelton world’
The Maroon 5 front-man was part of the iconic Season 1 coaching panel on NBC with Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green. Levine left the show after 16 seasons, though he later popped up to taunt his “frenemy” Shelton, who remained in his chair until the end of Season 23.
Levine’s departure in 2019 caught everyone off-guard as he was expected to return to the judging panel in the following cycle.

The young adult novel The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton has captivated readers for decades, and the 1983 film adaptation, filled with rising stars, further cemented its place in popular culture. Now, a new musical adaptation at the Jacobs Theater on Broadway seeks to tap into the timeless story’s magic.
The musical, directed by Danya Taymor, possesses undeniable heart and soul, but it occasionally falls short of a truly theatrical experience. Although the plot of The Outsiders is rich in dramatic events—a clash between rival gangs, a star-crossed romance, and a climactic confrontation—the stage adaption can easily be compared to other classic stage productions, particularly Grease and West Side Story.
The script, written by Adam Rapp and Justin Levine, focuses on three orphaned brothers: Ponyboy, portrayed by Brody Grant as the narrator; the brawny and romantic Sodapop, played by Jason Schmidt; and the eldest brother, Darrel, portrayed by Brent Comer as the father figure.

Gwen Stefani has coached many talented competitors on the reality competition series The Voice. But a point was made that The Voice hasn’t really launched the careers of its top winners like other similar reality shows. Stefani offered her own theory as to why that was the case.
Why Gwen Stefani felt ‘The Voice’ rarely produced stars Gwen Stefani | Casey Durkin/Getty Images
Like American Idol, The Voice gave aspiring singers a chance at superstardom. But there were a few key differences between American Idol and The Voice other than their judging practices. American Idol contestants and winners had a history of achieving great success in the music industry, from Kelly Clarkson to Jennifer Hudson.
But winners on The Voice haven’t really reached the same heights that their American Idol counterparts have. This pattern was noticed, not only by fans of the series, but by industry professionals as well.

The Maroon 5 frontman made a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he said it was “really surreal” seeing the video that Jagger posted on Instagram in March.
“It’s just one of those things you’re like, ‘Oh my, like how is this possible? What is happening? It’s bizarre,'” Levine said.
In the social media video, The Rolling Stones lead singer appeared to be at a bar or restaurant when a band started to play a cover of “Moves Like Jagger,” leading the legendary musician to groove to the tunes. “Moves like who,” Jagger captioned the post, crediting the band named Splash for their rendition of the track.

“Juvenile Delinquents Turn Heroes,” proclaims a newspaper headline in S.E. Hinton’s 1967 novel The Outsiders, which was famously adapted for the screen in 1983 by Francis Ford Coppola. And the juvenile delinquents on stage at the Bernard J. Jacobs Theatre are doing the same, rescuing a Broadway season overstuffed with undercooked musicals in an unexpectedly persuasive new adaptation of Hinton’s scrappy, moving story.
This show follows close on the heels of two other book-to-movie-to-musical adaptations, The Notebook and Water for Elephants. But The Outsiders far outstrips them both in the sophisticated storytelling of Adam Rapp and Justine Levine’s book, the adventurous staging of director Danya Taymor, and the dramatically specific and potent score from Levine and folk duo Jamestown Revival. Put another way, The Outsiders is, at last, a darn good musical.

Back in 1958, director Irvin Yeaworth brought the world a really fun creature feature called The Blob, which was followed by Larry Hagman’s late-to-the-party sequel Beware! The Blob (a.k.a. Son of Blob) in 1972 and an awesome remake directed by Chuck Russell – which ranks as one of the best remakes ever made – in 1988. We’ve been hearing rumblings of another Blob remake for over a decade now. Rob Zombie was attached to write and direct a new version of The Blob for a brief period of time, and commissioned some concept art before leaving the project. The Conjuring writers Chad and Carey Hayes wrote a draft of the script that reimagined the titular being as the B.L.O.B., which stood for Biological Lethal Organic Bomb. Their script was scrapped. Later, Con Air director Simon West was going to be helming the film, with Samuel L. Jackson signed...
