After waging war with House Atreides in Dune: Part Two, Dave Bautista trades his Harkonnen armor for something more discrete as he slips into the role of a hitman on borrowed time in The Killer’s Game trailer. Lionsgate shared the first trailer, poster, and images for the upcoming action comedy from director J.J. Perry. The promo features the former wrestler-turned-Hollywood superstar as an assassin with a dry wit fighting for his life after receiving a false diagnosis from his doctor. Thinking he’s suffering from a terminal illness and only has three months to live, Bautista’s hitman, Joe Flood, must survive an onslaught of savvy killers looking to collect his head.
Here’s the official synopsis for The Killer’s Game courtesy of Lionsgate:

"Did he just hit me with a motorcycle? Now that's just disrespectful." Lionsgate has revealed the first trailer for an action thriller comedy called The Killer's Game, directed by the stuntman turned filmmaker J.J. Perry (he also made the vampire film Day Shift with Jamie Foxx a few years ago). This will be landing in theaters in September after the summer season wraps - not a good sign. A veteran assassin is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness with limited time left and authorizes a kill on himself. After ordering the kill, an army of former colleagues pounce and a new piece of information comes to light – he's not really going to die. Insanity ensues, of course, as usual when all the assassins come out of the woodwork. Dave Bautista stars as Joe Flood, known as "The Slugger", who gets caught up in this mess. "Will the Slugger have what it takes to outrun the competition?...

The trailer for The Killer’s Game sees Dave Bautista fighting for his life after he goes from being a hitman to a target.
The action-comedy follows a veteran assassin, Joseph Flood (Bautista), who authorizes a kill on himself after being diagnosed with a life-threatening illness.
“There’s only two ways out of the killer’s game, Joseph. You walk away clean or you go out on your back,” Ben Kingsley can be heard saying in the footage.
However, when Joseph learns that doctors made a mistake and he actually doesn’t have an illness, he tries to cancel the contract. But insanity ensues when it’s too late, and an army of assassin colleagues not only come after him but also his ex-girlfriend (Sofia Boutella).
“I’m calling in every hitter in Europe, you hear me?” Pom Klementieff says to Bautista in the trailer, to which he responds, “Yeah well,...

America’s Got Talent returned last week, and one big change took place immediately. That first episode saw one contestant who really freaked out Simon Cowell in a good way. However, there were two other contestants that really blew the judges away.
Here is a look at how one new America’s Got Talent rule change helped push two people into the live rounds.
America’s Got Talent Returns With Big Rule Change
The first night of AGT Season 19 returned with a significant rule change. What was really impressive was that it immediately took effect at the premiere. The new season gives each judge not one but two Golden Buzzers to use. This made two contestants very happy on the first night.
A standing ovation for Ashlee – America’s Got Talent
The first one was someone who was highlighted in the Season 19 promo trailers. The man was Richard Goodall, who was the final audition of the evening.

Following the two-hour premiere of “America’s Got Talent” season 19 on May 28, we asked You, “Who was your favorite act?” Among the acts that performed for the judges in Auditions 1 were dance group Los Osos High School, two-year-old mathematician Baby Dev, magician Sam Huang, dog act Daisy May & Clifford, ballet dancer Ashlee Montague, country singer Reyna Roberts, contortionist Arshiya, world record holder Chris Ivan, and body performer Tonikaku.
Based on your votes in our Auditions 1 poll, the dancers of Los Osos High School were your resounding favorite with over 67% popularity. The group was the very first act to take the stage for the new season and wowed the judges with what Heidi Klum called a “kaleidoscope” of a routine, even though she was ultimately on the fence. She thought that while it was good, they could “up the choreography a little bit.” Howie Mandel agreed with Heidi and voted “no” in...

The confetti. The tears. The hugs. Admit it: you just can’t get enough of those emotional Golden Buzzer moments on “America’s Got Talent” … and neither can we. This twist was first introduced on the U.S. version of the worldwide talent competition in Season 10, and it’s been an integral part of NBC’s reality TV show ever since.
Throughout the auditions, the four “AGT” judges (and the host as of Season 11) get to press the Golden Buzzer for an act that moves them emotionally, which sends the performer straight through to the live shows. During the now-defunct Judge Cuts round, guest panelists were allowed to push the button as well for their favorites. At the start of Season 18, Simon Cowell announced that there’d be an audience-voted buzzer for an act that wows the crowd. In Season 19, a new twist allowed the judges to each press their buttons twice during the auditions.

On May 28, “America’s Got Talent” season 19 began with the first installment of audition episodes. In this initial stage of the competition, each judge is given two “golden buzzer” decisions to make where they can send an act straight through to the live shows. As host, Terry Crews had one choice to make for his “golden buzzer,” and he was not shy about using it on the premiere to give comedian Learnmore Jonasi the show’s highest honor. Watch the full performance in the video above.
Ahead of his audition, Learnmore expressed his excitement and gratitude for having the opportunity to come from Zimbabwe and be in Los Angeles to perform in front of Terry and the judges. “America’s Got Talent” season 19 kicked off Tuesday, May 28 with a two-hour premiere. Once again, this season’s hopefuls are judged by executive producer Simon Cowell on end of the dais and Howie Mandel on the other. Seated in the middle are Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara, with Terry Crews on stage as the lively host.
In the audition phase of “AGT,” an act needs at least three of the four judges to give them a “yes” vote to advance to the next round. If two or more judges buzz the act, they are immediately eliminated. For the first time ever, each judge not one, but two chances to hit the “golden buzzer” and send an act straight through to the live performances. Terry has one chance of his own, totaling nine acts overall that will earn the special path to the final phase of the competition.

Lionsgate announced release dates for a few movies today, including Flight Risk, Mel Gibson’s first time in the director’s chair since Hacksaw Ridge. The action thriller, which stars Mark Wahlberg, will be released on October 18th.
Directed by Mel Gibson and written by Jared Rosenberg, Flight Risk finds Wahlberg playing a pilot transporting an Air Marshall (Michelle Dockery) accompanying a fugitive (Topher Grace) to trial. As they cross the Alaskan wilderness, tensions soar and trust is tested, as not everyone on board is who they seem.”
Our own Chris Bumbray was able to see a trailer for Flight Risk at CinemaCon in Las Vegas last month and he teased that Wahlberg is playing “Way against type” in the movie. “He even shaved his head to look like he has a bald pate,” Bumbray wrote. “Looks like a really tight kickass thriller, and Gibson Really makes Walhberg look crazy in this.

Good news for exhibition as Lionsgate is delivering two big releases this fall: The Dave Bautista action pic The Killer’s Game on Sept. 13 and the Mel Gibson directed Mark Wahlberg movie Flight Risk for Oct. 18. Again, we can’t be without film product in a marketplace that’s starving for volume.
Meanwhile the Gerard Butler sequel Den of Thieves: Pantera will hit cinemas on Jan. 10, 2025; that title arriving to Lionsgate through its eOne acquistion.
The JJ Perry directed The Killer’s Game, based on the book by Jay R. Bonansinga and adapted by Rand Ravich and James Coyne, follows a top hitman, Joe Flood (Bautista) who is diagnosed with a terminal illness. He opts to take matters into his own hands – by taking a hit out on himself. Back in 2023, Warner Bros. were gearing up for the release of one of the last movies to come out of the Dceu. The Flash, starring Ezra Miller in the lead, and directed by Andy Muschetti, had a lot hanging on its shoulders. The movie was supposed to be the vessel to reboot the Dceu to give way for James Gunn and Peter Safran’s Dcu.
A still from The Flash (2023)
Though fans weren’t sold on Ezra Miller’s involvement after their various scandals came to light, the reviews coming from the who’s who of Hollywood had them holding on to hope. From Tom Cruise to Stephen King, many celebrities came in defense of the movie, lauding it as one of the best superhero movies ever made. Unfortunately, the movie’s reception was not what anyone had hoped, and The Flash ended up being one ofe the worst features from Dceu.

Loving Adam Sandler means making your peace with the actor's wildly inconsistent output. It's not like The Sandman has ever been a critical darling; even during his rise to superstardom in the '90s, "Happy Gilmore" and "The Wedding Singer" were the only movies of his that you could reasonably call well-reviewed (and that's coming from an ardent "Billy Madison" defender). But the films that he's churned out under his Happy Madison Productions, which was founded in 1999, have been all over the place quality-wise. Even most die-hard Sandlites probably wouldn't go to the mattresses over stinkers like "Jack and Jill" and "Grown Ups 2."
That's only become doubly true since Sandler entered his alliance with Netflix in the 2010s. Sometimes, you end up with little more than "content" for viewers to stream and immediately forget, but you can also get remarkably good stuff like "The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected...

It's been more than 10 years since the world was subjected to the last "Scary Movie" sequel, but as is the case with any famous horror movie villain, it's practically impossible to keep this series down forever. And now Paramount Pictures plans to breathe new life into this particular franchise. The studio will be teaming up with Miramax to resurrect the "Scary Movie" franchise with a brand new installment. Production begins this fall, and the film will be in theaters in 2025.
Variety reports that producer Neal H. Moritz, who is best known for producing the "Fast and Furious" movies for Universal, will be producing this new iteration. Moritz was not directly associated with any of the previous five "Scary Movie" films, but interestingly, he did produce a couple of horror flicks that were parodied in those early versions, including "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and "Urban Legend."
