Graduated from the European Business School HEC Paris (école des Hautes Etudes Commerciales de Paris) in 1997, Mathieu Bompoint started to work in development, post-production and executive production for 10 years. He worked with Frédérique Dumas (at Noé Productions from 1997 to 2003) and Sylvie Pialat (at Les Films du Worso until 2008).
In 2004, he created his own firm: Mezzanine Films, and produced more than forty short films (realized by Maud Alpi, Cécile Bicler, Hervé Coqueret, Laurent Laffargue, Louis Garrel). Lots of them have been awarded in prestigious French and International festivals such as Directors' Fortnight in Cannes (La Quinzaine), Clermont Film Festival, Brest, New-York, Venice, Seoul...
He also produced 5 feature-length films: Free Hands (Les Mains Libres) by Brigitte Sy, Berlinale 2011), Beast Paradise (Le Paradis des Bêtes) by Estelle Larrivaz with, among other, Muriel Robin (award-winner in Angers), The Good Life (La Belle Vie) by Jean Denizot (award-winner at Venice Days in 2013), The Mad Kings (Les Rois du Monde) Laurent Laffargue's first movie, in 2015, with Sergi Lopez, Eric Cantona and Céline Sallette, among others. And he even produced a documentary in 2013; Lightning (Foudre) directed by Manuela Morgaine (selected for Rotterdam Film Festival).
After producing most of her short films, Mathieu produced Maud Alpi's first feature-length film: Still Life (Gorge Coeur Ventre), released in November 2016. And in the same time, another feature-length film he produced: Menina by Cristina Pinheiro, just has been completed.
He is also a member and founder of Mezzanine Admin, an association of employers that gathers 42 adherents for 10 employees. Finally, he has been elected at the feature-length movie bureau of the SPI: Independent Producers Union.
