With several gowns reportedly being considered until almost the last moment, Zendaya’s choice for the 2024 Met Gala ultimately was a custom haute couture look from Maison Margiela Artisanal by John Galliano as well as a surprise archival look — also by Galliano.
In the hours before the Challengers star and Met Gala co-chair arrived on the steps of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, the rumor mill had kicked into high gear about who she might be wearing. Multiple gowns were mentioned as contenders, a sign of the power Zendaya wields in the fashion industry.
But her first choice indeed reflected the blend of 19th century romance and modernity that Galliano creates like perhaps no other designer, with elements that subtly evoke the gala’s theme of “The Garden of Time.” The emerald green and electric blue gown is a custom design made of organza and sage-hued lamé crafted...

There is much that is lovely to gaze upon in the elegantly tailored documentary “Invisible Beauty,” about fashion maverick Bethann Hardison, whose role in her industry, starting in the late ’60s and continuing into the present, has been remarkable personally and game-changing culturally.
Those five decades — hers and the industry’s — are expertly woven together by co-directors Hardison and Frédéric Tcheng, using a cache of personal photos, a wealth of archival images, clips and interviews sewn together by Hardison’s sharing of recollections and insights. The film is also buoyed by a delicate, sometimes moody piano-led score courtesy of Marc Anthony Thompson, with some additionally vivid musical choices that match the energy of the late, “Black is Beautiful” ’60s and the fashion-fast-forward ’70s.
When there were shifts in how the fashion industry viewed models of color, Hardison was there as participant but more often catalyst. She was one...

Progress in the face of systemic injustice does not occur naturally, it is urged along by sheer force of will — often by one radical visionary. In the case of the fashion industry’s racism, that person is Bethann Hardison. A trailblazing model in the 1970s, she became one of the most important agents of the ’90s, discovering the first male supermodel Tyson Beckford and mentoring Naomi Campbell and Iman. When fickle trends threatened to erase all of her hard work in the aughts, she boldly called out the industry’s blatantly racist casting practices, causing a seismic shift once and for all.

Tori Amos on Kevyn Aucoin, the famous makeup artist of the '80s and '90s: "Some of us were addicted to him making us beautiful and he was addicted to making us beautiful."
Tiffany Bartok's Larger Than Life: The Kevyn Aucoin Story, with remembrances from Paulina Porizkova, Kate Moss, Brooke Shields, Cher, Isabella Rossellini, Naomi Campbell, Tori Amos, Christy Turlington, Linda Evangelista, Isaac Mizrahi, Carol Alt, Cindy Crawford, Veronica Webb, and Linda Wells had its UK première at the Edinburgh International Film Festival.

Tiffany Bartok at Lincoln Center on Kevyn Aucoin when he worked with performers that included Janet Jackson, Tina Turner, Celine Dion, and Whitney Houston: "Each person was reflected in him." Photo: Anne-Katrin Titze
In the first installment of my conversation with Tiffany Bartok, the director of Larger Than Life: The Kevyn Aucoin Story, we start out with her fascination for impostors, the recent deaths of Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain, and how each person was reflected in Kevyn Aucoin and "when there was no one left, then he had to just look at himself."
Bartok's revelatory documentary on the famous make-up artist's life and legacy is alluringly illustrated through interviews with Brooke Shields, Cher, Tori Amos, Paulina Porizkova, Carol Alt, Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, Veronica Webb, Isaac Mizrahi, and the footage shot by Eric Sakas.

The American 1980s didn’t begin or end with Ingrid Sischy, but her tenure as editor-in-chief of Artforum — from 1980, when she was 27, to 1988 — made her a perpetual presence, lightning-rod gatekeeper, and immense id of artistic status, ambition, and fame. Friend of Julian Schnabel, Jeff Koons, Nan Goldin, Francesco Clemente, Peter Hujar, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Leonardo DiCaprio, Lil' Kim, Chloë Sevigny, Miuccia Prada, Sean Penn, Helmut Lang, Todd Solondz, k.d. lang, Valentino, and Veronica Webb, and nurturer and torturer of gifted writers like Rene Ricard and Lisa Liebmann, this Sarah Lawrence graduate was a poster child for the unbridled desire of the 1980s, its creative pretentiousness in its very best and most crazy forms, the one who helped integrate underground, mainstream, fashion, rock 'n' roll, and anyone who showed up and tried to make a connection. When The New Yorker called Sischy “Girl of the Zeitgeist” above an epic...

Clearly, Veronica Webb knows a thing or two about great skincare.
The 45-year-old model — and mom of two — has an amazing complexion, but she admits she didn’t really take care of her skin properly until she became a mother.
Now, she is so dedicated to good skin health that she recently became a spokesperson for Eucerin‘s new Skin First Council to help promote healthy skin.
So who better to give us tips on keeping moisturized and protected during the warm-weather months?
She even has good advice on getting your little ones covered with that necessary Spf.

Veronica Webb with daughters Molly Blue Robb and Leila Rose Robb at the packed Rachel Roy presentation. Photograph by PatrickMcMullan.com. I had a slight panic attack when I entered the Rachel Roy event in Chelsea last night and saw a model walking down a runway. “This is a presentation, right?” I asked a P.R. lady above the blaring music. I'd expected the usual format—models standing motionless in a large room as people walk around and ogle them—but Roy delivered something else entirely. The flack explained, “There are four mini shows with five minute intervals between each.” Curiosity replaced concern as I made my way to the elevated catwalk and found a place among the massive group, which included Veronica Webb, Whitney Port, Olivia Palermo, Margehrita Missoni, and Fabiola Beracasa. When asked why she chose an unconventional showcase for her fall offerings, the designer said, “Honestly, the clothes look better moving.

Lindsay Lohan left her NYC hotel earlier today to meet up with Samantha at Charlotte Ronson's fashion show. Just like last season, Lindsay appeared to be one of the event's main attractions - but when she wasn't with Sam in the DJ booth, she made time to mingle with other Ronsons like Mark, Anne, and Annabelle. She missed all of last night's kickoff festivities, starting with the Victoria's Secret "What Is Sexy Party?" attended by Gerard Butler and Hayden Panettiere. Rachel Zoe was also out on the scene, heading from the Vogue/BMW party to the amfAR Gala with Anna Wintour and Taylor Momsen. Elsewhere, new couple Robert Buckley and Privileged's Joanna Garcia checked out Rebecca Minkoff's presentation, while Jennie Garth, Tori Spelling, and Hilary Duff put on their red dresses to strut their stuff at the annual Heart Truth's Red Dress Collection bash. Some of our favorite small screen actors — and at least one high profile TV guest star — stepped out at Madison Square Garden last night for Dave Matthews Band's concert as part of the Stand Up For A Cure series. Fresh from a day filming Ugly Betty Lindsay Lohan posed on the red carpet before watching Samantha Ronson DJ the pre-show. Julia Roberts introduced the main act to an audience including some of the Gossip Girl kids like Chace Crawford, Jessica Szohr and Nicole Fiscella, as well as the always-endearing Damien Fahey among others. While I imagine big events like this are still bittersweet for the band who recently lost a member, they performed the night away to raise money for lung cancer research.
