Ubisoft’s free-to-play first-person shooter, XDefiant, is undoubtedly one of the most popular games in the world right now. It’s safe to say that players love engaging in fast-paced combat with other players on Ubisoft’s iconic maps from other titles. There is a lot of chatter within the community after a source recently revealed that this is just the beginning as Ubisoft has plans to add more maps to the game.

As per the source, two maps based on Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla are coming to the game along with Hidden Dagger, Dmr, Famas, and an Lmg. At this year’s Ubisoft Forward event, they are expected to make some big announcements and XDefiant players can unlock a special skin just by watching the event.

Academy Award-winning visionary filmmaker Kevin Costner directs New Line Cinema’s vast Horizon: An American Saga Chapters One and Two, a multi-faceted chronicle covering the Civil War expansion and settlement of the American West. A story of America too big for one film, this true cinematic event also stars Costner, who co-writes with Jon Baird (The Explorers Guild) and produces through his Territory Pictures.
In the great tradition of Warner Bros. Pictures’ iconic Westerns, Horizon: An American Saga explores the lure of the Old West and how it was won—and lost—through the blood, sweat and tears of many. Spanning the four years of the Civil War, from 1861 to 1865, Costner’s ambitious cinematic adventure will take audiences on an emotional journey across a country at war with itself, experienced through the lens of families, friends and foes all attempting to discover what it truly means to be the United States of America.

Be it Call of Duty, Battlefield, or Escape from Tarkov, in the arena of first-person shooters, there are a lot of titles that have made their marks. But there is one title that has recently surfaced in the arena: May 21, 2024. Yes, we are talking about XDefiant (formerly known as Tom Clancy’s XDefiant).
There are a lot of new features in this upcoming Ubisoft Fps game, like the absence of a skill-based match-making system in casual matches and many more. This game has every essence to become the king in the Fps genre; however, there is one issue that might not let XDefiant claim the throne.

For many years, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege has remained a tactically competitive shooter that tries to remain fresh. With every season, players expect new playable operators, map changes, and quality-of-life updates.
However, the next season (New Blood) is doing things a bit differently, and players are going to have a new range of updates coming their way, which isn’t making the community too happy, especially when Ubisoft plans to ask for investment when selling the premium season pass.
Rainbow Six Siege Will Now Have a Monthly Membership Option for $10 Years later, Ubisoft is still finding new ways to get players to spend money on the game.
Shared by John Elden Ring in IconEra, a clip from the recent Blast R6 Major Manchester tournament was shared with users. It shows the crowd shaking their heads and booing at an announcement made by Ubisoft during the event.

Ubisoft’s XDefiant just launched on May 21st to a mostly positive reception from fans and critics. They have praised its map design and its variety, as well as the gameplay and various modes. One big selling point for the game was that it was seemingly an alternative to Call of Duty. Especially with this game’s lack of skill-based matchmaking (Sbmm), which makes for a more varied and fun experience.
Call of Duty has notoriously doubled down on Sbmm in the past few years, with a lot of players wanting it to be removed from the casual playlists as it leads to more difficult and less varied matches.
Some Players Have Been Complaining About XDefiant’s Lack of Sbmm
A small minority of the players are not a fan of the lack of Sbmm in XDefiant.
Players have taken to X and other platforms to talk about their experience in the game.

Few types of movies sum up the 1990s quite like “dad thrillers.” A term popularized by the brilliant Max Read a few years ago, the dad thriller is a subgenre of thriller movies that was largely designed to appeal to older male viewers or otherwise featured thematic elements associated with that demographic. Yes, such movies often feature men being really good dads, but it’s about more than that. Dad thrillers were often closer to ’70s paranoia thrillers like Three Days of the Condor, which pitted crusaders of truth against staggering odds in a slow-burn narrative. They typically featured lawyers, law enforcement officers, military personnel, and dads in other thoroughly professional fields who were very good at their jobs. Many were based on books or otherwise inspired by the fictional and non-fictional texts dads of that generation loved to read. Some were theatrical hits but most of them found a home in living rooms everywhere.

Ubisoft’s newest game, XDefiant, which brings together factions from around Tom Clancy‘s universe, launched to a lot of server issues that left many players stranded. But that doesn’t mean the game wasn’t fun. In fact, it sent some of the fans into a world of nostalgia as they enjoyed their time there.
It’s not just this generation but the one before it that entered the newly released game. While many gamers of today, who are used to the realism delivered by the next-gen games, may criticize it for the ‘unrealistic’ feel, the ones who used to enjoy games like Call of Duty 4 don’t seem to have any problem with it.

Almost out of nowhere a few weeks ago, Ubisoft confirmed that XDefiant, the free-to-play title that has some similarities to Call of Duty, will be released today. The first impressions of the game are starting to come, and the players are already complaining about the long queue to find any match to play.
This game has a team of 6v6 players fighting each other in several modes. The game’s characters have a variety of abilities that they can use in battle to make a difference in the match. However, players cannot even enter the game to see the gameplay.

The first season of Reacher became an unexpected hit – the adaptation of Lee Child's novels attracted viewers unfamiliar with the source material, as well as fans of the books who complained that the character previously played by Tom Cruise was far from what Child described.
The second season came out almost two years after the release of the first, and the show was renewed for a third season at the end of 2023. And only recently new information has emerged – a new chapter of Reacher's story will be released in 2025.
It's still a long wait, so here are five TV shows to help you pass the time while you wait for the new season.

Ubisoft has pushed hard this time for its upcoming shooter game, XDefiant, which fans believe will take Call of Duty head-on. Interestingly, a former Infinity Ward executive producer who has worked on the original Modern Warfare series is acting as game director. It then shouldn’t surprise fans to see the game featuring jaw-dropping mechanics.
But that’s not all, Skill Based Matchmaking (Sbmm) is one hot topic in the first-person shooter arena. Considering this, Ubisoft chose not to keep the algorithm central to matchmaking in the game. The director explains why this factor should be taken care of.
Only Players Can Tell if They Are Better Off Without it XDefiant took on Warzone 2.0 and Modern Warfare II on Twitch during its beta run.

John Krasinski is recalling an emotional moment between him and Steve Carell, his former co-star on The Office, when they reunited on the set of his new animated movie If.
The Quiet Place star, who wrote and directed the family-friendly movie about imaginary friends, recently opened up to People magazine about the moment Carell made him cry.
“When he came in, I thought I would have the best time ever, and I did,” Krasinski said. “But the first thing he did was make me cry, which sounds sad but it was amazing.”
The duo worked together on The Office, NBC’s Emmy-winning comedy series, from 2005 to 2011, playing Michael Scott and Jim Halpert, respectively.
Though they’ve kept in touch, they hadn’t seen each other in several years, which made the reunion even more special. When Carell came in to do voiceover work for If, Krasinski said the actor gave...

The game had been delayed since its announcement in 2021. The first and second one received 80 and 82 respectively on Metacritic, and fans eagerly awaited a new addition to the series.
Ubisoft Gives the Division Spin-off the Axe
The Division‘s upcoming title is confirmed to have been canceled.

In the world of first-person shooters, there might be a new king who will take entry on May 21, 2024. Yes, we are talking about Ubisoft’s XDefiant (formerly known as Tom Clancy’s XDefiant). The game is going to be exciting, as it will be set in the Ubisoft universe, as maps are based on multiple Ubisoft titles in-game locations.
So far, it has always been Call of Duty that has reigned in the Fps genre. The new Call of Duty 2024 title is on its way to maintaining the legacy of the franchise. However, there is one major aspect of XDefiant that might dethrone the Activision Blizzard franchise.
XDefiant Will Not Feature Skill-Based Match Making
Matchmaking in casual plays will not be based on skills in XDefiant.
Recently, Ubisoft confirmed that there will be no skill-based matchmaking in XDefiant in the Casual Play mode. Sbmm mainly sets players in queues with a similar range of levels.

In the world of stealth action games, few series have garnered as much respect and admiration as Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell. The series protagonist Sam Fisher has become the standard for many games in the same genre. The series has many games under it and all have them evolved with time, experimenting with its core mechanics to varying degrees of success.
But not all Splinter Cell games are made equally. Some have been praised for their innovation of the stealth genre’s roots, while others have been critiqued for straying too far from what made the series great. The biggest debate among the fans has been if Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory is better than Splinter Cell: Blacklist. So, let’s grab the night-vision goggles and rank every Splinter Cell game from worst to best.

Meanwhile, the company’s current home gaming console, the Xbox Series X|S lags behind the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 in terms of the number of units shipped. There is not much a player gets to enjoy from a standalone title in a franchise that has the potential to offer way more. Ghost of Tsushima falls under this exact umbrella of problems as fans are starting to believe that a sequel to the first game can create a new combat style that has already been established in the first game.

To no one’s surprise, in the war against Sony’s corporate antics, Democracy prevails strong and wide. After the pushback against the mandatory account linking policy of Helldivers 2, Sony decided to retread its steps back to where things originally were.
Right now, Sony is right in the eye of a controversy storm—an account-linking one here, a censorship controversy there. Now, seeing its tarnished reputation, some Ps Plus users are looking to take the opportunity to coordinate similar protests against some of the company’s other policies.

Ubisoft has had its ups and downs with the Far Cry franchise over the years, with a few games outperforming the others, and some that players even avoid talking about. One particular title that has received mixed feelings from players over the years is Far Cry 2, a game that Clint Hocking might have had a different vision for before it was finally released.
Clint Hocking had a different vision for the game before it came out
For those who do not know, Hocking was also responsible for the development of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell series, which primarily focused on stealth-based missions and just might have been where the director got his experience with the said play style.
What Did Clint Hocking Envision For Ubisoft’s Far Cry 2
Unlike Splinter Cell, the level design in Far Cry 2 does not support pure silent takedowns as the enemies ultimately have better awareness.

There is not much that one can do to infuriate a game developer, but one thing that can put the whole studio on the edge is a leak of their upcoming video game. This is something that has been happening frequently in recent times, and Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs 3 was no different when it was time for the title’s official announcement.
Watch Dogs 3’s mechanics were leaked a few days before the game’s official announcement
It was merely a few days before the official announcement of the title when details about it were leaked on the internet, including how the player would be able to practically play as anyone you see in the game’s world. Being one of the featured mechanics in the game, it would have been infuriating for the developers to see it revealed early and by someone else rather than Ubisoft itself.

Exclusive: Now that we know the competition slates, it’s time to bring out the star packages that will line the Cannes Market. Here’s one inspirational movie package that ought to register strongly with the buying crowd. Way of The Warrior Kid is slated to begin production this summer, with Chris Pratt starring and McG directing a Will Staples-scripted adaptation of the the novel by Jock Willink. He is the retired Navy Seal who found a thriving second career as podcast host, bestselling author and motivational speaker.
UTA Independent Film Group and FilmNation will introduce the script shortly. If it’s as good as the backstories here, it ought to be a hot property. It’s a youth empowerment tale, only the title character isn’t waving a magic wand or wearing spandex. He’s a self-doubting kid who gets bullied and is hard pressed to complete a single pullup.

Forty years ago, author William Gibson brought the world a cyberpunk novel called Neuromancer – and an adaptation of that story has been trudging its way through development hell pretty much ever since. Versions of a feature film adaptation have passed through the hands of director like music video maker Chris Cunningham, A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors and The Blob‘s Chuck Russell, Torque‘s Joseph Kahn, Cube‘s Vincenzo Natali, and Deadpool‘s Tim Miller. While these projects were being put together (and while they fell apart), Neuromancer fans always wondered who would end up playing the lead character, Henry Dorsett Case. Hayden Christensen was rumored to be the top contender when Kahn was going to direct (with Liv Tyler rumored to co-star). Liam Neeson and Mark Wahlberg were said to be in the running for Natali’s version, although it wasn’t said who they might be playing.

BAFTA Award-nominee Callum Turner is joining Neuromancer, a new 10-episode drama based on the sci-fi novel of the same name by William Gibson.
Created for television by Graham Roland (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan) and Jd Dillard (The Outsider), Neuromancer follows a damaged, top-rung super-hacker named Case (Turner) who is thrust into a web of digital espionage and high stakes crime with his partner Molly, a razor-girl assassin with mirrored eyes, aiming to pull a heist on a corporate dynasty with untold secrets.
Neuromancer was Gibson’s debut novel that earned a Nebula Award, the Philip K. Dick Award, and the Hugo Award. It served as the first book in the Sprawl trilogy and was followed by Count Zero and Mona Lisa Overdrive.

Many games have tried to knock Call of Duty from the top spot when it comes to multiplayer. While fans have no shortage of complaints, it’s the first franchise that comes to mind when someone says “online shooter.”
Given that the series featured multiplayer in 2003, it’s no small feat that there hasn’t been a multiplayer franchise big enough to dethrone it. The streak continues as Ubisoft’s XDefiant fails to live up to the hype, with many fans saying the game is just not working out.

By now, we're all familiar with how the rules of engagement for spies work -- on the big screen, at least. But what if all our assumptions about fictional espionage don't fully line up with the murkiness of reality? We all cheered when a rookie James Bond killed a couple of bad guys and received his license to kill, no holds barred. Or when Ethan Hunt goes rogue and is disavowed by his government again and again, only to save the day and be welcomed back with arms open wide. Even in examples based on real-world history, like the upcoming "The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare," filmmakers tend to up the ante considerably and make certain leaps of logic in the pursuit of weaving an entertaining yarn.
But, then again, perhaps fact and fiction aren't always on opposing sides of this battlefield, after all. Nobody's claiming that surfing a tsunami is...

Fans of the upcoming video game, Star Wars Outlaws, are eagerly awaiting the official story trailer set to release on April 9th. However, some fans have already expressed their disappointment in the game, even before the trailer has aired.

Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio have been locked in to reprise the roles of hero Matt Murdock / Daredevil and villain Wilson Fisk / Kingpin, characters they originally played on the Marvel-inspired Netflix series Daredevil, on the Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again ever since Marvel and Disney+ started pushing the show forward. When their supporting cast was being assembled at the end of 2022, it was announced that Sandrine Holt (American Gigolo) had signed on to appear on the show as a love interest to the Fisk – with the word being that she was taking over the role of his wife Vanessa Marianna Fisk, who had previously been played by Ayelet Zurer on the Netflix show. Apparently there had been scheduling issues with Zurer, who said she was “sad to not take part” in the new series… which, at the time, wasn’t meant to line up with the Netflix show perfectly. Just a couple days after saw some great images of Charlie Cox and Jon Bernthal on the set of the Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again – where they reprise the roles of Marvel heroes Matt Murdock / Daredevil and Frank Castle / The Punisher, characters they originally played on shows that were released through the Netflix streaming service (and can now be found on Disney+) – it has been revealed that Daredevil: Born Again has wrapped production. Central Casting broke the news by sharing a picture of Cox at the wrap party.
The show didn’t have an easy ride through production. Filming started in early 2023, then when the strikes hit, it was decided that it needed to undergo a creative overhaul. Ubisoft has a very weird way to manage certain game projects; for example, Skull and Bones had more than 10 years in development and launched one month ago with several delays.
The company has also announced a Call of Duty-like game, XDefiant, which was first revealed in 2021, and since then, with just one beta of the game, there has been no more news about it. This beta was released 268 days ago, and Ubisoft has not talked about this game since then, and there seems to be no rush to launch the title.

“We’re incredibly excited to be bringing this iconic property to Apple TV+,” stated creators and executive producers Roland and Dillard. “Since we became friends nearly 10 years ago, we’ve looked for something to team up on, so this collaboration marks a dream come true. Neuromancer has inspired so much of the science fiction that’s come after it, and we’re looking forward to bringing television audiences into Gibson’s definitive ‘cyberpunk’ world.”
