Brad Pitt, Robert Downey Jr., and Keanu Reeves are three of the most prominent stars in Hollywood. Pitt was at the beginning of his career giving fans acclaimed movies like Thelma & Louise in 1991 but the actor lost a movie role he wanted in the same year and it also happened to Downey Jr. and Reeves.

Quentin Tarantino’s thriving directing career was supposed to come to its official end with the director’s tenth and final film titled The Movie Critic, but now it seems like retirement will need to wait a few more years. Earlier this year the news broke about Tarantino’s decision to ditch the movie so that he could finish his path in the industry with something even more perfect.
Now that The Movie Critic is officially never happening, everybody seems pretty frustrated about this all, even major studios that were deprived of a unique chance to collaborate with Tarantino even for once.

Director Tim Burton’s 1988 classic Beetlejuice (watch it Here) ended with the title character sitting down in a waiting room, and it looked like he was going to be in there for a very long time. The sequel is set to reach theatres on September 6th, and a newly unveiled teaser poster takes us back to that waiting room with Beetlejuice while acknowledging the long wait between films. Tom Cruise famously saved the theaters from the pandemic’s devastating effect in 2022 with his iconic Top Gun: Maverick, making history yet another time. Today, there is no pandemic, and the theaters don’t need saving, but it looks like Brad Pitt is eager to repeat Cruise’s journey, regardless — except this time, down on the ground.
Brad Pitt is going full speed into his new biggest action movie, and so far, it’s looking pretty hot.
Brad Pitt’s Maverick Is an F1 Driver
Top Gun: Maverick was just notoriously brilliant and successful, so the logical conclusion would be to grab another huge A-lister and throw him into the action with the same production team to replicate Cruise’s success. It looks like that’s exactly what’s going on because Brad Pitt is now working on a new untitled F1 movie.

Based on Chris Marker's 1962 short film "La Jetée," Terry Gilliam's 1995 film "12 Monkeys" begins in a futuristic, post-apocalyptic wasteland ravaged by a deadly virus. Cities are already being reclaimed by plants and animals, and humans have moved into cage-like, nightmarish structures underground. Despite the dire circumstances, humans still adhere to a frustrating bureaucracy, forcing mentally detached people to attend meetings and make plans. Luckily, humans also have access to a time machine, and they have selected James Cole (Bruce Willis) to go back in time to 1990 -- and then again to 1996 -- to find out more about the virus and help find a cure. Because it's a Terry Gilliam film, the picture doesn't exactly end on a note of hope.
Terry Gilliam's films tend to be fraught affairs, usually wracked with production problems, delays, and other things that are out of the filmmaker's control; he seems to be very unlucky.

Are you aware that Lisa Marie Presley & Michael Jackson were once a married couple? Truly, their brief romance in the mid-1990s took the world by surprise; they were a match made in the royal courts of rock & roll.
Jackson, who passed away on June 25, 2009, at the age of 50, once predicted he would die like the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley. In a revelation that is as heart-wrenching as it is compelling, Marie Presley shared intimate reflections on her marriage with the King of Pop.
Amidst a love story that intrigued a global audience, she has shed light on a darker, lesser-known narrative: Jackson felt he would die like her father, Elvis Presley.

Jackson was worried about his final days, and he eventually came to the conclusion that many of his friends were “vampires”, as his ex-wife revealed.

However, he was quite close to working with Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg, until scheduling disagreements forced the filmmaker to find his replacement.

The legacy of Kevin Costner cannot be refuted, despite his insistence on staying on the margins of celebrity worship and fame. The actorʼs familiarity with the world of Westerns and his obsession with it runs in his veins. And given his early rise to the higher rungs of Hollywood, Costner had earned his right to ask for roles that allowed him to explore the genre he loved more than the ones that were assigned to him by studio executives.

Eduard Limonov’s bizarre career, from rebel émigré writer in New York to leader of a fascistic, militaristic political group, is told with gusto by Kirill Serebrennikov
Fascism, punk, euphoria and despair … it’s all here, or mostly, in this hilarious biopic of Eduard Limonov, the rock’n’roll émigré Russian writer and patriot-dissident who wound up poverty-stricken in New York at about the same time as Sid Vicious. Limonov became an angry bohemian, a sexual outlaw and a celebrated adulte terrible in French literary circles in the 80s, railing against the prissy liberals and mincing hypocrites. Then he returned to Russia and became the leader of a violent group called the National Bolshevik Party. Tactfully, nobody here points out the similarity to “national socialist party”. It was if someone had given Michel Houellebecq a machine gun.

Brad Pitt has really stepped up his game as of late in the stunt department. Maybe it has something to do with Cliff Booth but he has gone full throttle, even doing 95% of the stunts in Bullet Train. Now, for his upcoming movie centering around Formula One racing, Pitt devoted months of his time to experience the adrenaline and show he can strap in with the pros.
Speaking with People, producer Jerry Bruckheimer gave some details on Brad Pitt’s dedication to the Formula One movie, saying, “He trained for four or five months. He’s an amazing driver. In fact, some of the F1 drivers said he’s a natural athlete. He really is. He’s amazing in that car.” When asked just how fast he got his car up to, Bruckheimer cheekily said, “I can’t tell you. The insurance company will kill me.” Notably, such cars can get to at least 220 mph.

Martin Scorsese has time and again proven why he ranks amongst the best filmmakers of today and his work will certainly be talked about for centuries to come. From Goodfellas (1990) to Shutter Island (2010), Martin Scorsese has a ton of gems in his portfolio but a sixteen-minute-long short film will remain to be the most unique work of his career.

Actor John Leguizamo has featured in some of the most iconic films in his almost three-decades-long career. Leguizamo is also one of the few actors who has had the opportunity to collaborate with director Baz Luhrmann on more than one project. The duo worked together on the 2001 jukebox musical film Moulin Rouge!
John Wick actor John Leguizamo has worked with Baz Luhrmann on two critically acclaimed movies.
During an interview, Leguizamo spoke about working on the movie and playing a key supporting role in it. However, Leguizamo admitted that he was initially offered a different part, which he rejected. If you’re just as Yellowstone-pilled as we are, it might seem like the genres of Western and neo-Western borderline don’t exist beyond Taylor Sheridan and Kevin Costner’s projects. Fortunately, that’s not true — and this sensational TV show directed by Brian Watkins and produced by none other than Brad Pitt proves it.
Better yet, it finally released its second season just now!
Outer Range Returns with a Bang
Brought to us by Charles Murray instead of Brian Watkins this time, Outer Range Season 2 finally hit the screens on May 16 to continue its convoluted but ultimately intriguing story. In the first day, it has already managed to surpass the success of Season 1, raking up 83 and 100% Critic and Audience Scores on Rotten tomatoes against the debut series’ 79 and 60% scores, respectively.
On IMDb, Outer Range boasts a solid 7.1/10 score for both seasons, but on both platforms, these numbers are likely to change over time.

Pure intentions never come a long way when it comes to achieving stardom in Hollywood. John Wick star John Leguizamo seems to understand that but while the actor may hold a cynical view of the industry due to time spent behind the curtains, there exist some things (perhaps a movie role or odd jobs to pay oneʼs way through surviving as a struggling artist) that he imagines as simply being too awkward to be uttered in public.
John Leguizamo in To Wong Foo [Credit: Amblin/Universal Pictures]Now, sufficient time has passed in the life and career of Leguizamo to serve as a cushion for his criticism, whenever or wherever it may apply. Such a protective cushion frequently comes into use when the actor brings up his fellow co-stars in the industry and serves to spill some tea about their roles that some still view as divisive beyond reproach.

Paramount’s family comedy “If” is leading domestic charts in its opening after earning $10.3 million from 4,041 locations across Friday and preview screenings. But the John Krasinski-directed fantasy feature has decidedly fallen behind its projections heading into the weekend, which had originally forecast a debut around $40 million. The film is now looking to finish closer to $31.5 million.
It’s a marked underperformance for the PG-rated family film, which sports a substantial $110 million production budget. Reviews have been mediocre, but the public’s sentiment is much more positive with audience survey firm Cinema Score turning in a glowing “A” grade from the first group of ticket buyers. That seal of approval could mark some salvation for “If,” which will have to keep drawing in families as schools let out for summer to justify its price tag. Paramount will face competition for younger viewers when Sony’s animated “The Garfield Movie” hits theaters next weekend though.

Watching movies on the big screen is an indulgence these days. Everyone prefers sitting in their homes, opening Netflix or Prime or any other streaming site, and watching whatever they feel like. But seems like viewers will have to indulge a little more than usual if they want to experience movies and not just watch them. Just ask Christopher Nolan, and he can tell you all about the IMAX experience.

Ryan Reynolds often finds a way to get little winks to “Deadpool” in many of his movies, and that holds true for “If.” But you need to hang around for the credits to catch it.
The actor stars in Paramount’s new film, in theaters now and written and directed by “A Quiet Place” director John Krasinski, as Cal. Together, he and a young girl named Bea (Cailey Fleming) strive to help all the imaginary friends of the world — or IFs, as they’re called — to find new children to bond with after the kids that dreamed them up have grown into adults and forgotten them.
Cal has all the sass and sarcasm you might expect from a Reynolds character, but there’s no real tie between him and Deadpool. In fact, the easter egg doesn’t even center on Reynolds at all. It instead continues a gag from “Deadpool 2.

12-year-old Bea (Calley Fleming) has lost her mother to cancer and is trying to leave behind her childhood. When her Dad (John Krasinski) also has a hospital stay, the girl retreats further into a pre-pubescent angst. While staying with her grandmother (Fiona Shaw), Bea notices some strange goings-on in the apartment above them, including an animated bee creature (voice of Phoebe Waller-Bridge) and a put-upon caretaker named Calvin (Ryan Reynolds). It turns out they’re trying to match their collective of IFs (Imaginary Friends) to new kids who will believe in them, and Bea turns out to be the perfect organizer for that task.

As much as we’d all love the world where art is disconnected from politics, that just isn’t the case: they both inevitably influence each other. Brad Pitt learned this lesson in 1997 when his underrated period drama earned him and his colleagues an official ban from China. What movie and why upset the Chinese government so much?
Brad Pitt Got Banned from Visiting China
Brad Pitt and David Thewlis’ 1997 period drama Seven Years in Tibet follows an Australian climber who travels to the holy city of Lhasa, Tibet and becomes an instructor and a friend to the 14th Dalai Lama. While having a seemingly innocent premise, the movie went on to infuriate the Chinese government with its execution.

Brad Pitt is known for his work in an array of genres, that cemented him among the high-profile Hollywood actors. Among his projects, his 1995 crime thriller, Se7en remains a highly acclaimed work that catapulted the actor to more serious, dramatic roles. While the entire project continued to give off spooky vibes, one cannot help but agree that the unseen movie ending remains one of the most unsettling sequences.

John Krasinski and Ryan Reynolds are imagining box office success this weekend.
Their new movie “If,” which stands for and follows “imaginary friends,” has made $1.75 million in previews so far at the box office. The family-friendly Paramount film is on track to dethrone last week’s box office champ, Disney’s “The Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.”
“If” is projected to make around $40 million in its opening weekend, with some estimates lower at $35 million and others as high as $45 million. It’s a promising launch for a PG-rated, original movie, but it comes with a $110 million price tag, so it’ll need solid receipts at the global box office to turn a profit. The film is already tracking well with parents and kids, according to PostTrak, and it could use the absence of family movies in recent weeks to its advantage.

As the Cannes Film Festival celebrates its parties and standing ovations, audiences in Hollywood and New York prepare to wallow in despair. And they’ll enjoy it (almost).
The festival called Bleak Week this week will deliver 43 films to an expected audience of 10,000 at theaters including the restored Egyptian in Hollywood, the Aero in Santa Monica and the Paris in New York.
Created by the American Cinematheque, Bleak Week will feature celebrities and Q&a sessions explaining why their projects deal with existential dread, nihilism and “uncomfortable truths,” as Bleak Week creative director Grant Moninger puts it.
Not surprisingly, there surely also will be post-screening alcoholic consumption for filmgoers seeking to ease the pain.
As the Cinematheque details it, Bleak Week was not prompted by Gaza, student protests, geomagnetic storms or the possible loss of yet another studio (Paramount).
Rather, its announced purpose is to honor an important if long-ignored...
