Well done!!
To all the idiotic negative reviewers: it ain't history! It's a fictional story, and a good one at that!
First, I'm a historian, and in this type of film, historical accuracy just doesn't matter! So get over it!!
Duh!!
The film gives us a compelling and plausible backstory for the Dracula myth, which itself is based entirely on naive ideas about the progressive decomposition of corpses!! Furthermore, there are now no and never have been any vampire bats living in Europe!!
So, there! Didn't read any objections to either of those overlooked historical facts! So what's the big deal?
The history dilettantes who are so bent out of shape because they're novice sensibilities are offended by the inaccuracies of this film need to check their brains at the door and relax and enjoy a great action/horror adventure film!!
Furthermore, this film is no more a violation of the accepted vampire mythology than FFC's Dracula, which I personally find barely tolerable, since it departs from Stoker's essential plot principle of Christians coming together to battle evil in the name of Christ; something that has been totally lost in almost all modern film adaptations.
If Muslims and Turks are offended by this film, I frankly couldn't care less!! For far too long now, they've had too many undeserved benefits in popular culture of late anyway! After all, the crusades were fought to reclaim lands that were originally Christian, not the other way around, since Christianity predates Islam by over 300 years! (Put that in your historical pipe and smoke it for a while! HA!)
Anyway, don't listen to the obsessed amateur historians who are panning this film.
It ain't the greatest, but it's far better than most of the modern vampire offerings!!
So, feel free to take a vacation from historical obsession and relax and enjoy this well-made fictional account of one version of Dracula's origins.
I certainly did!
NOT SORRY!!!!!
