S.S. Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali: Crown of Blood’ Sets Disney+ Hotstar Debut, Unveils Trailer (Exclusive)
The next venture from “Rrr” director S.S. Rajamouli is Disney+ Hotstar animated series “Baahubali: Crown of Blood,” based on the hugely successful “Baahubali” film franchise. A trailer has been unveiled.
A Graphic India and Arka Mediaworks production, “Baahubali: Crown of Blood” is created by Rajamouli and Sharad Devarajan, produced by Rajamouli, Devarajan and Shobu Yarlagadda and directed and produced by Jeevan J. Kang and Navin John.
Released worldwide between 2015 and 2018, the “Baahubali” films, directed by Rajamouli and produced by Arka, were made on a combined budget of $70 million and collected $370 million globally. Presented in Telugu and Tamil, and several dubbed versions, the films featured South Indian stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Ramya Krishnan, Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah Bhatia. In the films Baahubali (Prabhas) and Bhallaladeva (Daggubati) were antagonists. Writer Neil Gaiman is enjoying some success with his TV adaptations Lucifer, The Sandman, Good Omens and Dead Boy Detectives. Deadline has now reported that the famed graphic novel writer will be teaming up with Graphic India for an animated adaptation of his short story, Cinnamon. The screenplay is set to be adapted by Coraline author and leading Indian animation writer and creator Sharad Devarajan (The Legend of Hanuman; Baahubali: The Lost Legends) along with Sarena Khan and Sujatha Sv. Indian animator Jeevan J. Kang is on board to direct the adaptation.
